Mechanical Engineer – Aerospace Thermal Management Systems (Integration & Packaging)

Role Overview

We are seeking two highly skilled Mechanical Engineers with experience in the Aerospace & Defense sector to support the development and integration of advanced thermal management subsystems used across military and commercial platforms globally.

This role focuses on mechanical subsystem development from a packaging and integration perspective, including enclosure design and integration of electronic and fluid control components such as pumps, compressors, fans, and valves. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience developing aerospace-grade subsystems within defined volume and interface constraints, ensuring high reliability, environmental robustness, and compliance with industry standards.

These roles will support programs progressing from Preliminary Design Review (PDR) toward Critical Design Review (CDR) and will involve reuse and adaptation of existing product architectures.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical enclosures for aerospace electronic and control subsystems such as thermal management systems and related subsystems
• Package and integrate COTS and custom components into customer-defined volume constraints by integrating components including pumps, compressors, fans, valves, and control electronics
• Develop detailed CAD models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings (SolidWorks preferred)
• Conduct tolerance analysis, GD&T, stack-up analysis, and design for manufacturability (DFM)

The Cost Accountant is responsible for the compilation of cost information for products and services for a specific job or project. Key responsibilities will encompass the investigation of costs that differ from expectations, assisting in resolving those differences and preparing reports. Responsibilities

This role will manage a broad policy portfolio, starting with serving our defense and aerospace

members, and companies focused on critical and emerging technologies with a defense lens.

The successful candidate will have a strategic vision for enhancing U.S.-India defense relations across

government-to-government initiatives such as the U.S.-India COMPACT (Catalyzing

Opportunities for Military Partnership, Accelerated Commerce & Technology), U.S.-India

TRUST (Transforming the Relationship Utilizing Strategic Technology), and INDUS-X (India-

U.S. Defense Acceleration Ecosystem).

On a global front, the candidate must also be familiar with initiatives like the India–Middle East–Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) and the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (QUAD).

The successful candidate will lead policy developments in the defense portfolio, with strong

connections with serving and past defense officials in the U.S. Department of War, related U.S.

federal agencies, and the U.S. aerospace and defense industry. The director will be responsible

for the expansion of the aerospace and defense membership base.

The successful candidate is a self-starter and will be able to identify key issues, themes, and prepare

background briefs, engage key stakeholders, and lead the policy discussions, stakeholder

meetings, and initiatives.

This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer of USISPF.

Qualifications

•15 years of experience related to the defense sector. Prior consulting/advocacy work in

the sector is a plus.

• A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in a relevant discipline. A Master’s degree is

preferred.

• Strong networks in the private sector for the defense and aerospace companies.

• A basic familiarity and understanding of India’s culture, political structure, government

functioning, and business environment is required.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is required.

• Fluent written and spoken English is necessary.

About the Role (Relocation Provided)

We are seeking a detail-oriented Assembler to join our manufacturing team, supporting the assembly of aerospace and aircraft components. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on mechanical assembly experience who is looking to grow within the aerospace industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical assembly of aerospace or aircraft parts according to work instructions, drawings, and specifications
• Use hand tools, power tools, and measurement equipment to assemble components accurately
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic mechanical or assembly issues
• Conduct visual and functional inspections to ensure quality standards are met
• Follow safety procedures, quality requirements, and production schedules
• Document work performed and report any defects or process concerns
• Collaborate with team members, leads, and quality personnel to meet production goals

Required Qualifications

In an assigned cell, perform a variety of inspection processes, using various tools and equipment, following standardized methods and established techniques, to verify production process integrity up through and which may include preparation and presentation of parts to customer for Final Inspection or sale. Assist in 1st Article presentations or Production Lot Test initiatives. Accept or reject material based on findings.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

• Work from applicable written inspection procedures, drawings, and other pertinent instructions to plan and perform dimensional and visual inspection on parts, tools, gages, and other equipment, accepting material or referring for rework or quality review based on findings.
  
• Use a variety of fixed and variable measuring instruments including computerized machines where program instructions are well defined to check dimensions and recording results. Perform necessary mathematical computations to determine extent of non-conformance and complete appropriate paperwork.
  
• Follow established procedures to perform in-line checks and verification of dimensions and make sure that operation sheets are being followed.
  
• Recognize need and arrange for repair or replacement of equipment used in performing work as necessary.
  
• Support initiatives as directed to reduce MRB and re-work requirements, and assist in the manufacture of quality parts.
  
• Assist on various internal program audits.
  
• May assist others at their direction in the investigation of unusual non-conformances, new or changed inspection sequences, and other specialized assignments within the scope and skill level of this job function.
