Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $86,100 - $151,800. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate‘s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. The Internal Identity & Access Management (I2AM) team is responsible for critical production infrastructure that provides a foundational notion of Identity and strong authentication and authorization controls across Pinterest. Our backend is primarily written in Golang, Python with some C++ while our frontend tools are written in React and TypeScript. We're looking for an experienced software engineer who will help us build robust tooling to define and evaluate access controls across production infrastructure. A security background is not necessary but ideal candidates will have familiarity with the problems or related spaces, such as Infrastructure or Identity.
What you'll do:
- Help shape our identity and authorization controls for users, services and AI Agents.
- Design, implement, and maintain mission-critical software that will help us deliver robust IAM infrastructure and libraries to our customers.
- Collaborate with a variety of teams to build performant and resilient AAA (Authentication, Authorization, Auditing) platform controls into various high-traffic services including our AI Agents, online/offline data platforms, databases, service mesh (Envoy). and other critical infrastructure components.

Overview:
We are seeking an entry-level QA / Software Tester to join our team. This role is ideal for a recent Computer Science graduate who is interested in software quality, testing, and ensuring applications perform reliably for users. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and other QA team members to test new features, identify issues, and support the delivery of high-quality software.
Responsibilities:
- Execute manual test cases to validate functionality, usability, and performance of web or software applications
- Identify, document, and track bugs or defects using a ticketing or test management system
- Collaborate with developers to reproduce issues and verify fixes
- Assist with writing and maintaining test cases, test plans, and testing documentation
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives
- Support regression testing during releases to ensure existing functionality continues to work properly
- Learn and assist with automated testing frameworks where applicable
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (recent graduate or graduating soon)
- Exposure to software testing concepts through coursework, internships, or projects
- Basic understanding of programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle and Agile environments
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Internship or project experience related to software testing or QA
- Exposure to automated testing tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or similar frameworks
- Familiarity with bug tracking tools such as Jira
- Understanding of APIs and basic testing concepts
