Definition

Distinguishing Characteristics: This is the entry level class in the professional planning series. This class is distinguished from the Associate Planner by the performance of the more routine tasks and duties assigned to positions within the series including the responsibility for assignments in the fields of current or advance planning which require the application of fundamental planning principles. Since this class is typically used as a training class, employees may have limited or no directly related work experience.
Position Snapshot/A Day in the Life: Under the direction of a Senior Planner, this is the entry level class in the professional planning series. A typical day consists of reviewing development projects, collection of data to prepare staff reports for Planning Commission/City Council, provide information to developers and general public, evaluate and approve sign proposals, review and process design reviews, conditional use permits, variances and work on other planning related projects. Assist the general public via telephone and email.

Essential Functions

The employee must have the ability to:

  • Prepare agenda items and support material including resolutions and agreements for the City Council and Planning Commission, various committees and advisory boards as directed.
  • Review development projects and serve as liaison for the Planning Division in meetings with developers, architects, engineers, consultants, outside agencies and the general public regarding City development policies and standards.
  • Research, analyze and interpret social, economic, population and land use data and trends; prepare staff reports on various planning matters and elements of the general plan.
  • Collect information and prepare the City's Development Activity Report; compile information and make recommendations on special studies and prepare planning reports.
  • Prepare request for qualifications and proposals as related to redevelopment projects; evaluate bid proposals and development requirements; review and approve development proposals and applications which comply with appropriate regulations and policies; inspect sites for project compliance.
  • Review and process design reviews, conditional use permits and variances; prepare staff reports; evaluate and approve business licenses and sign proposals; update building and occupancy permits.
  • Provide information on landscape requirements to developers and the general public; inspect proposed site for landscape requirements and compliance; develop and revise landscape requirements and standards.
  • Issue grading and building permits; collect and refund street tree fees, landscape maintenance bonds and agreements; plan check landscape and irrigation plans.
  • Maintain and update the General Plan mailing list; notify local newspapers on public hearings.
  • Prepare initial environmental impact studies; assist in preparing or reviewing environmental impact reports.
  • Maintain and update files and maps on specific development projects; prepare and update various lists related to planning and development including lists or local developers, vendors and homeowners for project areas.
  • Answer questions and provide information to the public; respond to written inquiries to the City as it relates to the City's planning function.
  • Perform any other tasks or functions deemed necessary to the daily operations of the employer.

Parkview Regional Medical Center (PRMC) is accepting applications for a clinical pharmacy specialist in neonatal intensive care.

Position Details: The clinical specialist will join an on-site faculty member to provide direct patient care in the Parkview Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

In preparation for pediatric service line growth and changes, continued pharmacy expertise is needed in this area.

Currently this location is undergoing many facility updates (room renewal, expansion, and technology updates) along with an expansion of care for pediatric gastroenterology, endocrinology, cardiology, and hematology/oncology specialist services.

Parkview Health has been a collaborator partner with Cincinnati Children’s for overall a decade to improve the health and outcomes for children in our region.

This collaboration is now enhancing to bring neurosurgery, rheumatology, and drug-resistant epilepsy consultation services with telehealth clinics with world-class providers.

As part of an established pediatric pharmacy program, this specialist will benefit from close relationships with physicians and other care providers in both the inpatient and outpatient pediatric settings.

Parkview Health has provided specialty pharmacy services in pediatrics for over 25 years and are continually being asked to expand into additional responsibilities.

This role will have a targeted role in the level III neonatal intensive care unit with additional coverage of other pediatrics areas for weekend pediatrics coverage.

The role is a full-time, 1.0 FTE in the NICU with every 4th weekend for pediatric staffing to provide advanced and uninterrupted levels of care to this patient population .

This pharmacist will participate in collaborative rounding and consult management daily, weekly disposition rounds, pharmacy-based projects, multidisciplinary committees, and will precept student pharmacists and pharmacy residents.

Position Overview


Join an excellent team of researchers dedicated to coming closer to the mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, that no child will die at the dawn of life. The QAI4Bio (Quantum AI for Biology) Lab led by Dr. Christoph Gorgulla within the Center of Excellence for Data-Driven Discovery in the Structural Biology Department of St. Jude seeks a skilled and highly motivated wet lab Scientist or Postdoc with experience in ligand discovery. Our research group is focused on developing state-of-the-art computational methods for ligand/drug discovery, using machine learning, high-performance/cloud computing, quantum chemistry and quantum computing. Our lab also includes a wet lab dedicated to experimentally verifying the computationally predicted results in real-world drug discovery projects. St. Jude was named #2 on Forbes America's Dream Employers 2026 ( ).


As a (wet lab) Scientist or Postdoc, you will play a pivotal role in our team. This position is at the frontier of drug discovery, focusing to a large extend on the experimental validation of protein-ligand interactions. We will be targeting proteins associated with a range of areas, including epigenetic regulation, cancer, and other areas. You will work on producing high-quality proteins, designing and performing binding assays by biophysical methods (SPR, MST, ITC, BLI) or Fluorescence-based (i.e. FP, TR-FRET) methods, and optimizing workflows for ligand discovery. Depending on your skills, you might also work on structural studies (NMR, X-ray, cryo-EM, …) and use the state-of-the-art core facilities and centers dedicated to structural studies at St. Jude. In your role as lab manager you will be in charge of the day-to-day operations of the wet lab. Our lab is new, and you will be the first full-time team member in our wet lab. In addition, there is the “dry lab” where the computational/theoretical researchers will be located. 


In our lab, you will have the opportunity to lead collaborative projects, mentor junior scientists and students, and contribute to high-impact publications. Collaboration is at the heart of our work, and you will closely work with our computational and other wet-lab colleagues to validate and experimentally verify the predicted hit and lead compounds. By working together in a collaborative and intellectually stimulating environment, you will have the opportunity to contribute to multiple ligand/drug discovery projects and make a lasting impact on the lives of children and the world.

Job Responsibilities


  • Leading the wet lab experiments of our ligand/drug discovery projects with minimal to moderate supervision.
  • Protein Production: Express and purify target proteins of interest, predominantly using bacterial expression systems, and in cases needed insect, or mammalian systems. Ensure production meets quality standards for downstream structural and functional studies.
  • Binding Assays: Design and execute ligand-binding experiments, with a focus on biophysical assays and fluorescence-based assays, but also including cell-based assays. Optimize assay conditions for robust and reproducible results.
  • Wet Lab Leadership/Management: Manage day-to-day operations of the wet lab. Mentoring and training wet lab members, including postdocs, graduate students, and technicians. Oversee equipment maintenance and inventory of reagents.
  • Identify, process, organize, summarize, review, and report relevant data.
  • Interacting with computational team members (who will mostly identify the hit and lead compounds computationally).
  • Manuscript preparation, submission, and the review process will be part of the responsibilities (under the supervision of the PI), ensuring that the lab’s findings are disseminated to the scientific community.
  • Actively collaborate with interdepartmental teams, fostering interdisciplinary approaches to solving complex scientific challenges.
  • Present research findings to internal and external audiences (e.g. conferences), contributing to the hospital’s mission of advancing pediatric research.

You will attend safety training at one of our new facilities where you will also be trained on Pole Climbing and Bucket Trucks. On-the-job training includes exposure to various construction equipment including Directional Drill Rigs, Mini Excavators, Trenchers, and Locators. Fiber optic training includes Fusion Splicing, Fault Detection, and exposure to OTDRs and other advanced testing equipment.

 

The duration of training varies based on the team assignment. Training for underground teams is 3 weeks, with an additional 1 week required for aerial training. Depending on factors such as market needs, prior skills, and team size, some individuals may only complete underground training, while others may undergo the full 4-week program, including aerial training.

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This role requires frequent standing, walking, kneeling, climbing, and handling equipment, with the ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds regularly and over 100 pounds occasionally. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus.

Job Summary

This position is anticipated to begin in February and be ongoing with hours varying, usually 15- 40 hours per week depending on need and is not to exceed 1040 hours per year. Most work will be done Monday-Friday at Kirkland City Hall, with occasional weekend or evening shifts primarily for events. The on-call program assistant must be available to work July 4 and the days immediately preceding and following the holiday.

The ideal candidate possesses a strong work ethic, the capacity to prioritize tasks and work on a variety of projects with competing deadlines. Candidates should have the ability to be adaptable to new situations, ideas, and challenges and must be able to take initiative and work proactively. This position will work closely with the Community Building Events team to help plan and carry out multiple events.   • Maintains and organizes supplies and equipment, purchases, and inventory materials, reconciles payments, p-card statements, contracts and billing.

To perform professional and technical engineering work in an assigned area such as plan and development review, contract administration and design; and to provide technical staff assistance to higher level engineering staff.

Position Snapshot/A Day in the Life:

This Associate Engineer position will be within the Traffic Division of the Public Works/Engineering Department. With a team of 11 (7 of whom are primarily responsible for signal operations and maintenance), we are responsible for overseeing the City's transportation system, including supporting Capital Improvements Projects, Land Development projects, Street Maintenance, Planning, and others.

Under the direction of a Senior Engineer or City Traffic Engineer, you will primarily be responsible for reviewing private development and capital improvement project related traffic studies, identifying impacts and deficiencies, and determining the most appropriate improvements and design features needed. Other day-to-day duties will also involve reviewing and preparing signing/striping plans and traffic control plans, investigating and responding to concerns from the general public, and participating in long-range planning activities. You may also be asked to help work on special projects and grant pursuits, preparing staff reports, participating in interagency coordination efforts, preparing RFP's/RFQ's, reviewing and processing proposals/contracts/traffic plans, and conducting various meetings.

Distinguishing Characteristics: This is the journey level class within the Engineering series. Employees within this class are distinguished from the Assistant Civil Engineer by the performance of the full range of duties as assigned. Employees at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies within the work unit. Positions in this class are flexibly staffed and may be filled by advancement from the Assistant level.

Supervision Received and Exercised: Receives direction from higher level engineering staff and may exercise technical supervision over less experienced staff within the work unit and technical or functional supervision over staff within the Department.



Essential Functions

The incumbent must have the ability to:

  • Review and check residential and commercial building plans or plans related to structures such as streets, sidewalks, gutters and other off-site construction; check plans for conformance with regulations regarding line, grade, size, elevation and location of structures; check calculations

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in preparing and reviewing transportation analysis for a range of project scales and being able to interpret the practical implications of the analysis results. They would be familiar with VMT, the current industry trends related to its implementation, and be able to assist the team in managing and updating our Traffic Impact Guidelines. They'll have excellent skills in using Excel and be comfortable working within it to create reliable and flexible tools for day-to-day analysis needs. The Traffic division and the City pursue significant grants and special projects that allow us to grow our infrastructure and capabilities, as well as to implement the best practices in the industry, the ideal candidate would be someone who is knowledgeable about the current trends in the Transportation engineering and planning fields and be able to lead grant pursuit efforts and independently manage such projects along with coordination with stakeholders of competing interests.

Experience: One (1) to two (2) years of increasingly responsible experience in civil engineering.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least two (2) years of experience preparing and reviewing transportation impact analyses for a range of project scales and being able to interpret the practical implications of the analysis results.
  • Familiarity with VMT, the current industry trends related to its implementation, and have experience managing and/or updating Traffic Impact Guidelines.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including building tools for transportation data analysis.
  • Experience managing transportation projects and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders with competing interests.
  • Experience presenting at public meetings and responding to questions/feedback from elected or appointed officials.
  • Traffic Engineering license.

Education: Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in civil engineering or a closely related field. Some additional years of experience and specialized training may substitute for some of the educational requirements.
