Overview

The Center for Advanced Medicine - South County is a new outpatient facility, jointly owned by Washington University School of Medicine and Barnes-Jewish Hospital, that is under construction in South St. Louis County. The building, scheduled to open in late spring 2016, is located near the Siteman Cancer Center at I-55 and Butler Hill Rd. This new, two-story, approximately 84,500 square foot outpatient facility will include outpatient surgery, imaging, lab, therapy, and Washington University physician subspecialty offices including the Departments of Orthopaedic Surgery, Internal Medicine, Ophthalmology, Surgery, and OB/GYN. ; ; The surgery suite includes two operating rooms and two minor procedure rooms. Imaging services will include plain film, CT, MRI, and screening mammography.

Job Summary and QualificationsAs a Nurse Extern, you’ll be a valued part of the nursing team, gaining hands-on experience as you explore the full scope of the Registered Nurse role. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing essential care for patients by helping with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living), checking vital signs, supporting mobility, and ensuring comfort and hygiene
- Performing nursing tasks like wound care, catheter care, collecting specimens, and other basic procedures as you gain experience and grow in your competency
- Documenting care accurately and communicating timely updates with the nursing team to keep patient care seamless and coordinated

- Keeping patient areas clean and safe by following infection prevention practices, managing equipment, and maintaining an organized environment

Responsibilities: Calling on the post-acute care market including long-term care facilities, home health and hospice agencies and medical equipment providers Selling clinical and operational solutions to all levels of decision makers including owners, senior clinical officers and purchasing managers Selling products that include incontinence, skin care, DME, advance wound care and gloves Developing a strong knowledge base about Medline’s very large product catalog and numerous value added programs and services Developing meaningful relationships with new customers and deepening relationships with existing ones Cold calling and prospecting to develop new business opportunities Presenting new products and initiatives; educating customers on current industry trends and regulations Preparing bids and negotiating contracts Taking ownership and leadership of your territory-- growing it like your own business Requirements: Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of quota-based sales experience demonstrating a background in cold calling, commissioned, full-cycle sales experience OR at least 5 years of quota-based sales experience demonstrating a background in cold calling, commissioned, full-cycle sales experience.
