Senior Safety Manager – Mission Critical (Lead, Hyperscale Data Center Brownfield)

Role Summary

We’re hiring a Senior Safety Manager to lead our site safety team and own safety performance for a brownfield hyperscale data center project in Boydton, VA. This is a senior, field-first leadership role working in/around live critical infrastructure, where disciplined planning, access control, and high-risk work controls are essential. You will set expectations, coach supervisors and subcontractors, and drive a proactive safety culture that protects people, schedule, and operations.


This role may be filled by a traveler. If traveling, the company will provide a company credit card and cover all approved travel expenses (lodging, meals, rental car/vehicle, fuel, flights as needed, and incidentals) per company policy.


Leadership Responsibilities (Safety Team Lead)

  • Lead, coach, and develop the project safety team (Safety Managers/Coordinators) and set daily/weekly field coverage.
  • Establish the site’s safety rhythm: onboarding, field walks, audits, corrective actions, reporting cadence, and subcontractor accountability.
  • Serve as the primary safety point of contact with the client/GC, ensuring alignment to mission critical standardsand scorecards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain the Site Safety Plan aligned to client requirements, OSHA, and company standards.
  • Own safety execution in a brownfield environment: phasing, shutdown windows, access controls, escorts, and strict change control.
  • Lead planning and controls for high-risk activities, including:
  • LOTO / energized work coordination (interface with electrical leadership and client procedures)
  • Hot work, confined space, crane & rigging, working at heights, trenching/excavation, concrete operations
  • Material handling and equipment movement in tight operating corridors; temporary protection/barriers
  • Implement and enforce permit-to-work and JHA/AHA processes; verify task planning before crews start.
  • Conduct incident and near-miss investigations; drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Manage subcontractor safety performance: expectations, audits, trend reviews, and consequences for repeat non-compliance.
  • Deliver training and engagement: orientations, toolbox talks, supervisor coaching, and targeted refreshers.
  • Maintain safety documentation and reporting: inspections, action tracking, client reporting, and leadership updates.
  • Partner with construction, QA/QC, and commissioning teams to align safety gates with major milestones (energization, startup, IST).

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years safety leadership in construction; mission critical/data center experience strongly preferred (brownfield/live site a major plus).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a safety team and influence multi-trade field execution.
  • Strong OSHA construction knowledge and practical expertise controlling high-risk work.
  • Excellent communication and field presenceβ€”able to coach, correct, and hold teams accountable.

Preferred Certifications

  • OSHA 30 (required or obtained quickly); OSHA 510/500 a plus
  • CHST or CSP preferred
  • Experience with client-driven permit systems and energized work coordination
  • Familiarity with safety software/tools (Procore, SafetyCulture/iAuditor, etc.)

Description

The Sr Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the technical development, oversight and improvement of manufacturing processes within the area of responsibility. This individual will lead process optimization, technical problem-solving, and cross-functional manufacturing initiatives. This role is accountable for achieving senior-level competence Plans and presents engineering program and product design reviews for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications. Develops and requests design and specification change releases. Assesses and communicates impact of engineering initiatives to functional groups. The ideal candidate demonstrates advanced technical depth, measurable impact on production performance, and the ability to mentor mid-level and entry-level engineers while partnering with cross-functional stakeholders. This role is classified as Exempt for FLSA purposes and reports to the Engineering Manager.



Pay Range: $110,00.00 to $137,000.00 per year. Final compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.



Essential Responsibilities




  • Develop, release, and maintain detailed technical work instructions for the manufacture and repair of aerospace metallic structures and assemblies, ensuring full compliance with customer(s) engineering definition and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with CNC Programming group to develop and implement manufacturing plan for complex metallic machined components/assemblies.
  • Provide advanced technical support to Quality and Operations teams to achieve site-level Safety, Cost, Quality, and Delivery (SCQD) objectives; act as a primary escalation point for complex manufacturing issues.
  • Partner with Purchasing and Sales during the quoting process to define manufacturing approach, assess technical risk, establish labor standards, and ensure cost competitiveness.
  • Establish and validate operational standard hours using time studies and process analysis; drive accuracy in routing and capacity planning assumptions.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and model-based definitions to ensure manufacturability; translate design requirements into controlled shop-floor documentation.
  • Train and mentor operators and junior engineers on manufacturing methods, process controls, and quality standards; elevate overall technical capability of the team.
  • Lead productivity and cost-reduction initiatives through Lean principles, waste elimination, and process optimization; quantify and report measurable performance improvements.
  • Develop, validate, and industrialize manufacturing processes for new product introduction (NPI), ensuring processes meet defined capability, repeatability, and quality targets prior to production release.
  • Evaluate nonconforming components and determine repair feasibility; develop and validate repair schemes in coordination with Engineering and Quality functions


The individual is required to be a supportive member of Environmental Safety & Health (ESH) and Quality System policies to provide a safe work place and eliminate conditions and behaviors which may cause work related illnesses and/or injuries while delivering quality product and services on time.



Position Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or relevant technical discipline, or HS Diploma/GED w/equivalent composite/aerospace manufacturing/repair experience. 5+ years of technical experience with composites and/or aerospace components production or repair.

Desired Characteristics

  • Demonstrated experience creating, structuring, and maintaining complex multi-level Bills of Material (BOMs) for aerospace assemblies, ensuring configuration control and production readiness.
  • Proven experience in the developing and implementing machining strategies of large-scale metallic aerospace structures, including fixturing for both Milling and Turning.
  • Hands-on experience machining large metallic aerospace components, including process planning, tooling strategy, and dimensional validation.
  • Strong proficiency in engineering drawing interpretation, including advanced Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) application and tolerance analysis.
  • Working knowledge of CAD systems such as CATIA, SolidWorks, NX; ability to interrogate models to support manufacturability and tooling design decisions.

Job Purpose

This position uses analytical skills and professional accounting knowledge to support purchasing and specification control teams in the development of six annual budget events. The role ensures accurate reporting of financial data, conducts budget versus actual analysis, and supports cost and pricing calculations. The Senior Cost Accountant is responsible for calculating total product costs including parts, labor, and overhead, and determining product pricing. This role operates with a high level of autonomy and has a direct financial impact on company financial statements.

Key Accountabilities

β€’ Perform monthly closing responsibilities related to sales and materials and present results to senior management
β€’ Conduct sales and materials analysis for six annual budget events and present results to senior management
β€’ Use analytical skills and accounting expertise to create sales breakdowns and profit analysis independently
β€’ Prepare parts and unit pricing quotes with minimal supervision

The Senior Tax Analyst will manage the day-to-day indirect tax function, ensuring accurate and timely compliance with all federal, state, and local tax requirements. This role requires strong technical expertise in sales and use tax, property tax, and other indirect taxes, along with the ability to collaborate across business units and contribute to process improvements.


Job Responsibilities:


Tax Compliance and Filing

  • Manage the overall day-to-day indirect tax function ensuring all returns are accurately and timely completed
  • Review state and local indirect tax filings including sales and use, property tax, Mercantile/BPT, Gross Receipts, OH CAT, and other applicable taxes
  • Review Act 43 return filings and quarterly reconciliations
  • Maintain the tax calendar for all tax filings to ensure timely compliance
  • Review all real estate bills and invoices, confirming accuracy and timeliness of payment
  • Manage the escheat process including reviewing prepared returns and maintaining company escheat policies and procedures


System Management and Analysis

  • Monitor tax rate tables, tax flags, and class code mappings within the system to ensure proper tax determinations
  • Perform periodic validation testing of tax systems
  • Review monthly account reconciliation for sales tax payable account
  • Maintain monthly real estate and miscellaneous tax accruals, including posting entries and investigating variances
  • Review fixed assets to ensure accuracy in lives, methods, and depreciation


Collaboration and Support

  • Respond to sales tax inquiries raised by external customers, internal stakeholders, and taxing jurisdictions
  • Collaborate with business units to ensure proper application of tax on customer and vendor purchases
  • Assist with income tax provision and return calculations and compliance, including preparation of allocation and apportionment
  • Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures to strengthen internal controls within the tax function
  • Assist in audits, including preparing supporting documentation and researching audit issues


Process Improvement

  • Develop detailed understanding of current indirect tax processes to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Contribute to departmental process improvement and automation initiatives
  • Research and stay current on changes to tax laws
  • Support the tax team on other projects, audits, and compliance needs as required


Qualifications


Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
  • 5+ years of indirect tax work experience
  • Solid knowledge of sales tax rules and regulations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and high attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate tax issues in a clear and concise manner
  • Strong organizational, time management, planning, and prioritization skills
