Lactalis American Group, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is currently hiring a 3rd shift Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician based in Belmont, Wisconsin. This position will require the ability to work in a team atmosphere as well as individually to repair, install, adjust, or maintain production and packaging equipment. This will also include equipment that is servo-mechanical as well as electro-mechanically operated. All work needs to be done in a clean sanitary manor as required in a food manufacturing plant. Candidates must be available to work weekends.

Key responsibilities for this position include:
* Repair or maintain the operating condition of the equipment used in production and packaging of a dairy product
* Align, fit, or assemble component parts and hardware, using hand or power tools
* Observe and test the operation of machinery or equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters or other testing devices
* Preform preventive maintenance functions such as cleaning, lubricating, adjusting, or replacing parts as needed per scheduled maintenance
* Operate newly repaired equipment to verify adequacy or repairs
* Ability to read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, or technical orders to determine methods and sequence of assembly
* Test performance of electro-mechanical assemblies, using test instruments such as electronic voltmeters
* Operate, test, or maintain robotic equipment used in various areas of operation
* Ability to effectively communicate with operators, fellow maintenance staff, and supervision to perform required tasks
* Record parts or materials used and ordered or requisition new parts or materials as necessary using Inventory management software
Candidate must have the following attributes/skills; strong attention to detail and accuracy, personal qualities of tact and dependability, possess good manual dexterity, vision abilities (close, distance color and ability to focus ), able to push/pull/lift and carry at least 50 pounds occasionally and 100 pounds with assistance, be able to stand for entire shift, be able to perform repetitive movements (e.g. twisting, gripping, lifting, bending, reaching, climbing) and must be able to work over 40 hours per week (weekends are required).

Sign On Bonus & Pay: We are offering a $2,000* Hiring Bonus to new hires for hourly positions. *Bonus amount is a gross amount. $1,000 will be paid out in the paycheck following 90 days of active employment; an additional $1,000 will be paid out in the paycheck following 180 days of active employment. *Temporary, part-time and certain rehired employees are not eligible. *Attendance and performance rules apply.
Pay: $35.75 to $39.40/hr + $2.00/hr 2nd shift premium, dependent upon skills and experience. Weekend premium: 20% more ($7.15/hour to $7.88/hour).

This opportunity is in Woodburn, Indiana in our BF Goodrich Tire Plant. Woodburn is a small town located about 30 mins east of Fort Wayne, IN. THE OPPORTUNITY
This engineer will be responsible for completing the Mechanical Engineering portion of projects in support of the Plant Capital execution, as well as Plant Technical support, enabling the plant to meet its Safey, Market, Productivity, and Quality goals. They will assist project teams with pre-studies of deployment and development projects in the M.E. field. They will also complete design studies, follow procurement and fabrication of equipment and lead the installation, commissioning and startup of the equipment in an industrial plant environment. For customer projects, manages the design studies for industrial equipment installations that are necessary for the success of the Plant's capital projects. She / he will ensure adherence to the customer's specifications, local regulations, compliance of performance, and costs.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Conduct feasibility studies of functional specifications; evaluate solutions against the criteria of cost, landmarks, risks, and functionality.
- Adhere to the quality system and established methods (risk analyses, FMEA, design reviews, quality planning, treatment of non-Conformities, etc.).
- Acquire validation of key project milestones during the installation, start-up and ramp-up of the equipment in collaboration with team members.
- Facilitate procurement, acceptance inspections, and maintain "as built" drawing packages for assigned material and equipment projects.
- Create budget estimates and bid packages on assigned projects.
- Provide project documentation: mechanical designs, technical offer, safety risk assessment, maintenance & operator training documents and user manuals.
- Lead mechanical contractors or maintenance installation teams during equipment modifications & machine installations through start-up and commissioning.
- Providing project support, especially during installation, start-up and ramp up phases, is often "on-site" and "hands on", and many projects include implementation schedules during holidays and shutdowns.
- Actively support the plant with designed solutions to improve Production, Quality, Maintainability, and Safety metrics.
- Design tooling for a critical part of the machines that make our high-quality products.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING

Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician I–III is responsible for performing preventive and predictive maintenance and repairing production equipment as needed. This role also supports senior technicians with electrical and mechanical projects while ensuring safe and efficient equipment operation in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production equipment.

- Lead and enhance plant wide Electrical Safety Program to conform to PepsiCo Global Environmental Health Safety Management System(GEHSMS) standards.
- Develop and implement electrical reliability strategic plan to include maintenance improvements and capital upgrades.
- Identify and implement cost savings opportunities for electrical distribution and electrical consumption across the plant.
- Provide technical guidance in all capital projects that replace or update electrical controls or power distribution.
- Lead food safety and employee safety improvements through key GEHSMS and QSHA programs.
- Working knowledge of predictive maintenance technologies including vibration analysis, ultrasonic, and thermography of electrical & mechanical equipment
- Understanding of the NEC, ARC Flash, and Machine Safety Standards.
- Ability to develop electrical design drawings in AUTO CAD, and detailed sequence-of-operation documents.
- Familiar with OSHA, NFPA, and other compliance codes.
- Knowledge and understanding of Allen Bradley family of PLC’s, Operator Interfaces, and VFD’s.
- Able to integrate Control Logix, PLC 5, and SLC’s
- Extensive understanding of power distribution system and power systems calculations
- Experience with various generations of electrical switch gear – 480v to 13.8kv 3-phase systems
Compensation and Benefits
- The expected compensation range for this position is between $73,400 - $122,850.

- Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 8% of annual salary paid out annually.

- 4-year technical degree in Electrical Engineering Power System Emphasis or 10 years’ experience in electrical power systems and controls.

Job Summary
Electrical Controls Engineers at client design, program, implement, troubleshoot, and improve our electronic control systems to better automate, control, and monitor our production processes. The Electrical Controls Engineer applies comprehensive electrical engineering skills and industry experience in support of the design, fabrication, and implementation of new equipment. They need to be proficient in a variety of logic control hardware, HMI’s and programming software, as well as the associated sensors, vision systems, motors, drives, actuators, and industrial communication networks. They are responsible for writing, troubleshooting, and modifying our ladder logic programs that control the way our equipment operates. They further provide expert-level troubleshooting support on existing automated equipment as a backstop for our maintenance technicians. Depending on the complexity of the equipment needed, they may additionally serve as the project lead for an entire piece of automated equipment, and thus may also coordinate activities for internal mechanical designers and/or external contractors to deliver a turn-key piece of production equipment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design and program new and/or upgraded control systems for our manufacturing equipment to be used on both new and existing products.
- Provide tier 3 troubleshooting support to maintenance technicians on particularly difficult equipment problems.
- Define and document requirements for new control systems and control system upgrades.
- Mock-up prototype equipment and control systems in order to evaluate the ability of designs to achieve their intended purpose.
- Prepare design review documentation to facilitate peer and leadership review
- Document control systems using control schematics, electrical diagrams, panel layouts, and through meticulous software program comments.
- Develop and perform system verification and validation tests to ensure safe and proper functioning.
- Provide guidance, mentoring, and assistance to peers and junior engineers and technicians.
- Coordinate with Program Managers, R&D, Engineering and Management to prepare detailed plans and estimates for equipment in support of capital expenditure requests.
- Prepares statements of work and compile cost estimates for new control equipment
- Assists with make/buy decisions and oversee the design and build process for outsourced systems.
- Stays informed concerning new technologies, materials and equipment, and investigates potential applications.
- Maintain the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from above.
- Understand and live by Armtec’s ethics and business conduct policies.
Education & Professional Work Experience Requirements
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- To conform to U.S. export control regulations, applicant should be eligible for any required authorization from the U.S. Government.
- QualificationsBachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline with 5+ years of controls engineering experience required.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and deploying automated control systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Ladder Logic programming experience using RSLogix 500, and Studio 5000
- HMI development experience, prefer experience with FactoryTalk View Studio
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot AC/DC electrical equipment problems and perform system tests.
- Experience with creating electrical schematics and control system diagrams. Autocad Electrical experience is preferred.
- Prefer experience implementing Allen Bradley Micrologix, and CompactLogix PLC’s and various touchscreen HMI panels, such as Panelview and C-more HMI’s.
- Additional experience with various Industrial networks is a plus.
- Additional experience with Cognex Vision inspection system and experience with various servo drive/controllers is a plus
Product Engineer
