Description

Job Summary: Set up and process components on Manual and/or CNC machines in the disciplines such as Lathes, Mills, Grinders and Hone. Machinists will be responsible for the safe and proper use of general equipment, tooling, fixturing, hand-measuring and special precision measurement tools daily. The machinist will be required to work closely, respectfully and professionally with their Subject Matter Experts, Leads, Peers, Cell Level Teams from all disciplines of the Machine Shop. The machinist will be responsible for comprehending the Instructions for Continuous Airworthiness, understanding and performing efficient set-ups and repairs on components are successfully compliant, completed while operating in a safe, clean, organized environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Log into each job in workflow, assist in the set-up and running of jobs as an identified trainee to include identifying programs that match paperwork, assisting measuring component, assisting double checking each step prior to running component.
  • Ensure inspection of tools are within proper calibration at all times of use, including but not limited to: micrometers, gage blocks, bore gauges.
  • Ensure proper paperwork is compliant and verified (Serial Number, Part Number, Correct Operation, Correct repair information) to include documentation of maintenance (ICA's), rework travelers, blank travelers.
  • Maintain basic equipment and work area on a daily basis in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Maintain personal PPE and follow overall Safety requirements.
  • Perform daily tool control review/sign offs of tools/toolboxes, cleaning and organizing duties.
Qualifications

Education: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent certification. Technical education is preferred.

Experience: 0-12+ months knowledge/entry level in machining to include any of the following disciplines: ID/OD/Jig/Surface Grinding Hone; CNC Mill, CNC Lathe; Manual Mill, Manual Lathe.

0-12+ months exposure/entry level in machine programming to include any of or a combination of the following: G-Code/M-Code, Fanuc, Siemens, and Haas Controls.

Basic equipment knowledge of any of the following: Precision Measurement Tools, Hand Tools, Manual Mills, Okuma, Haas, Matsuura, Centroid, Hermle, DMG, Fryer (Lathe and Mill); Kellenberger, Studer, Usach, DeVlieg, Moore Jig Grinder, Sunnen Hone and Fryer (Grind).

Position Responsibilities

- Prepare for job setup by reviewing work orders, tie-in sheets, operator documents, blueprints, or CATIA plots for production orders, first lots, or tool tryouts.

- Review Work Orders (W/O) to confirm the correct type and quantity of materials and tools or fixtures are issued and free from visible defects, updating CMES as necessary.

- Identify the type of setup required based on documentation and check machine setups or parts completed by previous operators to assess job progress and ensure safe working conditions.

- Select and verify the condition of machine accessories and holding devices (e.g., chucks, vises, templates) and identify any required fixtures or shop aids.

- Attach air nozzles or suction devices for vacuum fixtures, securing them with bolts or clamps as specified in the operator setup documents.

- Use overhead cranes to load and unload parts and fixtures as required for the machining process.

- Upload and download CNC (Computer Numerical Controlled) programs to machine controllers using computing equipment from various servers or databases.

- Select and check cutting tools according to program specifications, ensuring they are the correct type, length, diameter, and in good condition before installation.

- Set machine coordinates or index points per CNC documents, including cutter offsets, tool heights, and probes, using appropriate measuring tools.

- Run CNC programs to machine rough and precision cut parts, monitoring machine operations for unusual vibrations, sounds, or warning indicators.

- Adjust machine settings (e.g., speeds and feeds) to correct machining issues or prepare the machine for subsequent operations, including head and spindle angles.

- Troubleshoot and repair minor controller problems as required, and initiate requests for corrective action when machine malfunctions occur.

- Perform Statistical Process Control (SPC) functions as required to ensure quality standards are met.

- Check completed work for defects and ensure parts meet drawing specifications, removing sharp edges with deburring tools as required.

- Maintain personal and tool certifications and assist planners or programmers in determining final numerical control programs to optimize machine utilization and minimize setups.

Physical Demands and Potential Hazards:

- Perform physical tasks that include lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs to 15-35 lbs.

- Engage in various movements such as reaching, handling, turning, twisting, lifting, lowering, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting.

Summary of Position

The Principal AI Security Engineer is a senior technical leader on the AI Security team, responsible for designing, building, and operating security controls for generative AI and Machine Learning (ML) systems across their full lifecycle: data, training, deployment, and runtime.

This role is deeply hands-on: you will work directly with data science, MLOps, platform, devops and application teams to secure LLMs, RAG systems, AI agents, and AI-enabled products. You will also lead the intake and review process for AI use cases, helping the organization adopt AI safely and at scale in a highly regulated environment.
