- PCU Stepdown Job Details:
- Work 12-hour shifts starting at 6:45 AM or 6:45 PM
- Every other weekend requirement
- Must live 75 miles from facility (strict radius rule with driver's license verification required)
- 2 years stepdown experience in acute care setting required without exception
- Floor-specific orientation of 3 shifts provided
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS preferred
- Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips using Phillips monitors
- Experience with various drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, dobutamine, dopamine, heparin, and others
- Work with BiPap, CPAP, Vapotherm, and high flow oxygen (no full vents)
- Float to ICU for stepdown patients or assist with tasks if ICU experience available
- Manage 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio on 44-bed cardiac stepdown unit
- Care for post-operative cardiovascular surgery patients, CHF, A-fib with RVR, and various cardiac procedures
- Handle fast room turnover with 12-16 patient admissions/discharges per shift on busy days
- Must be flexible to work holidays and days around holidays as needed
- Dress code: Caribbean blue scrubs, natural hair color, no fake nails, no facial piercings, no visible tattoos
- Use MEDITECH charting system

- Every other weekend and holiday requirements
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Required certifications: KY/Compact RN License, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, NIHSS
- EKG test required during compliance process
- Minimum 2 years of experience with Level I or II Trauma Experience required
- EPIC charting experience required
- Tele strip interpretation is mandatory
- Must be able to initiate and titrate cardiac drips based on patient acuity
- Care for post catheterization patients (femoral and radial), chest pain and MI patients
- Black scrubs required
- Associate Degree or Certificate required, Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Must be hard worker, resilient, and manage change well
