Position description
The Department of Chemistry at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for a pool of temporary instructors to serve as the primary instructor, should an opening arise, to teach and lead courses offered by the Department of Chemistry. This includes grading, managing instructional team meetings, holding office hours, and other teaching duties as needed.

The posted UC academic salary scales set the minimum pay at appointment. See the following table for the salary scale for this position: . The current full-time annual salary range for Lecturer positions is $70,977 - $199,772. TSPs are paid at an hourly rate. Hourly rates range from $45- $60 per hour.

Lecturers hired to teach during the Academic Year are employed from July through June. Lecturers hired to teach during the Fall semester are employed from August through December. Position description
The School of Journalism at the University of California, Berkeley is accepting applications for qualified temporary, part-time instructors to teach both during the regular academic-year year and in our Summer Minor program. Applicants will be reviewed for positions as needs arise. As a professional school, the School of Journalism is seeking practitioners to bring real-world experience to the classroom. Among the needs we generally have, we are often seeking practitioners with skills in:
- News writing and reporting, either in daily reporting or long-form narrative writing.
- Video news, including documentary filmmaking or short form video storytelling.
- Audio news, including podcasting, radio reporting, audio editing or sound design.
- Multimedia storytelling, including visual design, audience engagement, social media, emerging story forms like VR/AR, and mobile platforms.
- Data journalism, including data visualization, data coding (Python or R), spreadsheets, public records, and similar tools used for data-driven stories.
- Topical expertise, including but not limited to climate change, science, politics, business, race and inequality, investigative reporting, or other topical expertise.
The School seeks candidates who can support the success of all students through inclusive curriculum, classroom environment, and pedagogy. Instructors will be offered pedagogical training on inclusive teaching practices to ensure their teaching materials come from the widest range of perspectives.
Appointments for primary instructors will be made in the Lecturer title. Time commitments vary depending on the class, but are typically one day a week of teaching for two or three hours. Other duties include ancillary responsibilities like holding office hours, assigning grades, attending appropriate meetings / orientations, advising students, preparing course materials (e.g., syllabus), and maintaining a course website. Candidates may also be considered for hourly appointments as Teacher-Special Programs (TSP). TSPs teach a narrow subject as part of another course, or assist courses in other ways. Time commitments for TSPs vary, and in most cases are only for a limited period of the semester.
Unless otherwise noted, it should be expected that classes will be held in-person so candidates will be required in most cases to physically teach at UC Berkeley campus. Please refer to our job openings link for any limited remote-teaching opportunities.

TruePani Inc., an environmental consulting and communications firm, is seeking an environmental sampling associate to join a passionate team tackling water quality projects focused on reducing lead in drinking water.
The position is a full-time, 10-week work experience during Summer 2026. College students are eligible for this position. Each day involves traveling to collect water samples at client sites (mostly schools and child care facilities). The role is based in Brownsville, Texas, and will include three weeks of work in Mission, TX during the last three weeks of the position. For candidates located outside of the area, relocation and a housing stipend will be provided. The position includes frequent travel and fieldwork.
We are accepting applications and conducting three rounds of interviews on a rolling basis throughout March and April. All offers will be provided by late-April 2026.
Key Details
- Compensation: $20 - $23 / hour, typically 40 hours per week
- Work days typically begin around 6:30 or 7 AM and conclude around 3 or 4 PM. A lunch break in the middle of the day is provided and there may be down time between traveling to sites.

Responsibilities
The individual in this role will work with the larger project management team to:
- Collect water samples at client sites, mostly schools and child care facilities across the state of Texas
- Pack and ship water samples to laboratory
- Assist with project communications
- Collect information on a digital device while in the field
- Accurately collect site data and complete chain of custody forms
Successful individuals in this role are highly motivated and able to work both within teams and independently. Candidates should be able to anticipate work that needs to be completed. We will train the right person to collect facility water samples to be delivered to the lab for analysis in addition to maintaining a detailed sample log.

- Degree or pursuing degree in environmental science or a related field
- Proficient in Excel

Job Summary
The program assistant supports and assists with programs, facilities, services, and events within Parks and Community Services (PCS) and serves as a primary customer service agent.
This assignment is for a seasonal, ongoing, non-benefited on-call program assistant, to support year-round community building events including Lunar New Year, Dia de Los Muertos, Outdoor Summer Movie Series, Celebrate Kirkland July 4th Parade, Harvest Festival, and many other events hosted by PCS, plus the LED screen rental program. This position is anticipated to begin in February and be ongoing with hours varying, usually 15- 40 hours per week depending on need and is not to exceed 1040 hours per year. Most work will be done Monday-Friday at Kirkland City Hall, with occasional weekend or evening shifts primarily for events. The on-call program assistant must be available to work July 4 and the days immediately preceding and following the holiday.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong work ethic, the capacity to prioritize tasks and work on a variety of projects with competing deadlines. Candidates should have the ability to be adaptable to new situations, ideas, and challenges and must be able to take initiative and work proactively. Must be self-motivated and work well as part of a supportive team.
This position will work closely with the Community Building Events team to help plan and carry out multiple events. Primary tasks include purchasing, vendor and parade entry support, volunteer recruitment and record keeping, marketing and outreach support, LED screen operation and other administrative functions.
The on-call program assistant is the primary contact for vendors, contractors, and volunteers to ensure logistical needs as well as contract terms and conditions are met.
The program assistant also serves as the on-site liaison for several events, facilitating the delivery and set-up of event equipment such as tables, chairs, pop-up canopies, marketing materials, audio-visual equipment and other supplies.

- Creates and maintains instructor contracts and enters into the City's record management software. Coordinates the processing of contracts.
- Assists with the organization and production of department events (i.e. Green Kirkland Program, community building events, etc.).
- Assists with publicizing and promoting programs, program brochure preparation, and maintaining City webpages.
- Inventories, purchases, maintains, and organizes program supplies and equipment.

- Performs functions as assigned in the City's emergency response plan in the event of an emergency.

- Or: In place of the above requirements, the incumbent may possess any combination of relevant education and experience which would demonstrate the individual's knowledge, skill, and ability to proficiently perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed above.
Licenses and Other Requirements:
- Must possess a valid Washington State driver's license.
- Must possess or obtain CPR/First Aid certification within 6 months of hire.

Surge Staffing is seeking motivated and detail-oriented students for our Summer Internship Program. This program offers hands-on experience across multiple departments, providing interns with the opportunity to gain real-world exposure, develop professional skills, and contribute meaningfully to organizational initiatives.
This is a full-time (Monday - Friday) On-Site position that is for Surge Staffing HQ located in Columbus, Ohio.
Interns will work closely with experienced professionals and may be placed in one of the following areas based on their interests, skills, and business needs:
Accounting
- Assist with financial reporting, reconciliations, and data entry
