Support a leading U.S. plastics manufacturer by ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of complex manufacturing systems. You’ll maintain and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems that keep production moving across multiple industries — from medical and food packaging to aerospace.

This role exists to sustain uptime, drive reliability, and ensure every piece of equipment in the plant performs at its best.

Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance and on-demand repairs on production and facility equipment, minimizing downtime and maximizing output.

Electrical & Mechanical Troubleshooting: Diagnose issues using schematics, meters, and diagrams on systems including AC/DC motors, gearboxes, compressors, drives, and pumps.

Fabrication & Repair: Use shop tools (drill press, grinders, welders, torches, etc.) to modify or repair parts and components safely and efficiently.

System Optimization: Analyze root causes of failure and develop process improvements that extend equipment life and reduce repeat maintenance issues.

Documentation & Safety: Complete maintenance logs, follow lockout/tagout procedures, and ensure all repairs comply with OSHA and company safety standards.

Collaboration & Leadership: Communicate with operators, supervisors, and fellow technicians to ensure smooth shift handoffs and coordinated repairs.

The registered nurse (RN) is accountable for the coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care. The RN supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family. The RN will function within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, which includes accountability for planning, implementing, evaluating and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients. The ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice provide a basis for the practice of the RN. The RN provides leadership through activities such as preceptor role, informal and formal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts. The RN delegates patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability and availability of resources. One year of RN experience in an applicable care setting or one year of LPN experience at Mayo Clinic is preferred.

Description:

BASIC PURPOSE:

• Create detailed cost estimates for the creation of customer quotations for injection mold tooling, injection molded products, and value added assemblies.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Estimating & Quoting

o Prepare detailed cost estimates for injection molded parts, including:

Tooling (new molds, modifications, transfers)

Piece-part pricing

Secondary operations (assembly, pad printing, ultrasonic welding, etc.)

o Analyze customer RFQs, drawings, CAD models, and specifications

o Develop pricing based on material costs, cycle time, press size, labor, overhead, and margin targets

o Support quick-turn and formal quote requests

• Engineering & Technical Analysis

o Review part designs for manufacturability (DFM)

o Estimate mold complexity, cavitation, hot runner vs. cold runner, and tooling lead times

o Recommend process assumptions, material alternatives, and cost-reduction opportunities

o Collaborate with tooling vendors and internal mold design teams

• Cross-Functional Collaboration

o Work with sales to clarify customer requirements and pricing strategy

o Coordinate with manufacturing, tooling, and supply chain teams to validate assumptions

o Support customer technical discussions as needed

• Cost Management & Data Accuracy

o Maintain estimating models, cost databases, and historical pricing

o Track quote accuracy and provide post-launch cost feedback

o Assist with cost-down initiatives and re-quotes for production programs

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

• 3+ years of experience in injection molding estimating, process engineering, or manufacturing engineering
• Strong understanding of injection molding processes, materials, and tooling
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and 3D CAD models
• Proficiency with Excel and estimating or ERP systems
• Strong analytical and communication skills

Preferred

• Experience estimating multi-cavity, hot runner, or high-volume production tools
• Familiarity with automotive, medical, consumer, or industrial molded products
• Experience working with domestic and offshore tooling suppliers
• Background in mold design, processing, or project management

SUMMARY:

The Tooling Supervisor – Engineer is responsible for all aspects of in-house and external tool tracking, tool and fixture repairs and tool maintenance to ensure that the company objectives are met. The Tooling Supervisor- Engineer will interface between Spectrum Plastics Minneapolis location and external tooling suppliers. This position will be accountable for tracking and meeting all agreed upon tool delivery dates, costs and maintaining spare components.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Actively promote and drive a culture of safety within Spectrum Plastics Group.
2. Responsible for tooling P&L, adhere to tool delivery dates and quality of work for all Spectrum MN tooling transactions.
3. Participate in support of the quoting sales process. Acquire tooling quotes
4. Provide Application and NPI DFM analysis
5. Manage and track all tool cleanings, repairs, PM’s, refurbishments, and spare parts.
6. Lead tool design reviews and modification methodologies
7. Provide technical support on tool issues to the Operations team as needed.
8. Effectively measure and drive supplier performance and the reduction of tool lead times and costs.
9. Lead and /or assist on sustaining tool design review and modification methodology.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Manage and communicate tool delivery dates to the Operations Team, striving for on-time or early delivery.
2. Manage tooling database (IQMS) for tracking tools, implementing planned scheduled maintenance or scheduled repairs.
3. Develop customer tooling recommendations as needed for new tools or refurbishments.
4. Set-up, track and maintain all tooling spare components.
5. Ensure customer tooling assessments are managed and tracked.
6. Provide technical support for Operations team, tool repairs and estimating.
7. Ensure tool drawing files are updated as needed.
8. Manage the tool cleaning group to ensure quality of work and adherence to schedules.

Job Qualifications

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

5 years of tool building experience. Excellent organizational, communication and computer skills. Demonstrates a sense of urgency. Knowledge of blueprint reading, Solidworks and Pro –e. Proficient at Geometric Tolerance interpretation.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The noise level is usually low in the office setting and moderate to high in the manufacturing area.

The employee may be exposed to fumes and dust.

We’re looking for an experienced PA or NP to work OR-only in a high-volume cosmetic plastic surgery practice.

This role is for someone who:
