Job DetailsDescriptionThis position is responsible for setting up and operating CNC machining centers, mills, lathes, and router equipment. The Machine Operator produces quality product according to precise specifications within time constraints. At some locations, this position will also include general warehouse duties such as shipping and receiving. In this position, the employee will work with moderate supervision.
Essential Functions- Sets up and operates production machinery such as CNC saws, lathes, milling machines, drills, shapers, boring mills and grinders to fabricate and repair parts and products. Works with some guidance from supervision.
- Reading and Interpreting Documentation and Product Quality - Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, and parts lists. Studies and interprets assembly instructions and verifies specifications. Conducts dimensional and visual part inspections to prints and specifications using standard quality assurance inspection equipment.
- Responsible for maintenance of equipment - Completes preventative maintenance, troubleshoots malfunctions, and performs minor repairs as needed. Communicates errors in product, equipment, and other issues that may arise in fulfilling orders.
- Performs general warehouse duties - Fills orders in a timely manner by operating warehouse equipment and machinery including operating a forklift, computing and optimizing yields, and cutting material to size. Loads and unloads delivery trucks as needed, using SAP to receive and ship materials. Processes operational activities in SAP through work orders and prepares proper documentation including transfer orders, bills of lading, delivery notes, work orders, call tags for non-conforming material and others as required.
- Problem solving and Communication - Resolves assembly and production issues and communicates errors in the product line, equipment and or issues in fulfilling orders.
- Safety and Continuous Improvement - Participates actively in Continuous Improvement activities and submits ideas to help drive improvement. Ensures the workplace and environment are clean and safe. Follows Company Safety policies and procedures and looks for ways to improve safety.

The salary range for this position is $66,049.00/year- $85,864.00 for the state of Illinois. In this role, you'll lead innovation across core applied ML and marketplace technologies that power our ads ecosystem-advancing our ads ranking stack, building the next generation of scalable ads retrieval models, and improving shopping discovery for millions of users. You'll also help shape the evolution of the Pinterest marketplace by designing systems and experiments that improve the ads delivery funnel, inform the utility function, and influence auction mechanisms and ad allocation-using deep analysis of marketplace dynamics to unlock new insights. Overall, this is a high-impact opportunity to define what great looks like for Pinterest Shopping Ads, directly improving both user experience and advertiser outcomes in a uniquely discovery-first marketplace.
What you'll do:
- Design features and build large-scale machine learning models to improve user ads action prediction with low latency
- Drive innovation in personalized Shopping Ads recommendations through advanced modeling
- Develop new methods for inferring user interests from online and offline activity
- Mine text, visual, user signals to better understand user intention
- Leverage multimodal signals (text, visual, user) to better understand user intent
- Collaborate with product and sales teams to design and implement new ad products
- Partner cross-functionally with product, sales, data science, and engineering teams to design and improve user journey and optimize ads performance across all stages of retrieval and ranking
- Build and improve backend systems and statistical models that underlay the marketplace to maximize value for Pinners, Partners and Pinterest.
- Define and implement experiments to understand long term Marketplace effects
- Develop strategies to balance long and short term business objectives.
- Drive multi-functional collaboration with peers and partners across the company to improve knowledge of marketplace design and operations.
What we're looking for:
- Degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics or related field
- Experience building production machine learning systems at scale, data mining, search, recommendations, and/or natural language processing
- Experience leading projects and mentoring team members
- Strong mathematical skills with knowledge of statistical methods
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong cross-functional collaboration
- Background in computational advertising is a plus, but not required

Lactalis USA, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is currently hiring a Machine Operator based in Buffalo, New York.

Key responsibilities for this position include: Other duties may be assigned.
Summary: Responsible for operation and maintenance of the bulk filler machine system.
1. Perform pre-shift operational inspection to determine condition of filling machine.
2. Sets up filling machine and related equipment for product to be run.
3. Monitors filling machine during line operation to ensure proper operation and efficiency.
4. Troubleshoots and resolve operational /mechanical problems in a timely basis to ensure an efficient, smooth flow of product.
5. Monitors package seal impressions, integrity, and product giveaway.
6. Changes film in a timely manner to fashion to ensure a continuous, efficient flow of product.
7. Perform product changeover(s) as needed.
8. Performs preventative maintenance on a daily/weekly schedule as required.
9. Maintains an open line of communication with production palletizer, and lead person/supervisor.
10. Perform proper sanitation of the filler before introducing the product.
11. Continuously monitors for abnormalities or inconsistencies in the texture, shape, color, odor or foreign material in or on the product.
12. Continuously monitors for proper code date, lot number and operator code product to be packaged.
13. Familiarizes self with all standard operating procedures.
14. Continuously monitors for proper product temperature during filling.
15. Continuously monitors the cup wash, ensures that it is on and working correctly.
16. Continuously monitors the cooling spirals and investigates any problems.
17. Keeps work area neat and clean at all times.
