JOB OVERVIEW:
Under the direction of the Director of Human ResourcesβEmployee Relations, the Employee Relations Partner is responsible for advising managers and HR Business Partners (HRBPs) at Brigham & Womenβs Hospital (BWH) regarding employee relations situations and the interpretation of personnel policies, State/Federal and employment laws. The incumbent will provide comprehensive internal employee consultation throughout BWH, may be asked to prepare responses to internal and external complaints, conduct investigations, write reports and present findings and recommendations. The incumbent will develop and evaluate overall employee relations trends/themes and proactively make recommendations to address root cuses. The incumbent will assess and conduct training on employee relations and will partner with the HRBPs to implement recommendations to address employee relations issues. The incumbent may need to partner with MGB Centers of Execellent (COEs) including the Employee Relations/ Labor Relations team as well as the Office of General Counsel, as needed.
1. Advises HRBPs, Managers and Executives system wide concerning employee relations issues around concerns in scope of workplace violence, discrimination, harassment, substance abuse, abusive conduct, reductions in force, diversion, privacy breach etc.
2. Conducts sensitive, confidential, objective and thorough investigations. Prepares reports of the findings, presents findings to specific audiences, and makes recommendations to address root cause issues.Consults, as needed and/or directed, with ER/LR COE, HRBPs, and HR Leadership as appropriate.
3. Partners with Sr. Employee Relations Consultant to develop and evaluate overall employee relations trends/themes across organization and system to understand and address root causes.
4. Works with HRBPs, Learning & Organizational Development, Employee/Labor Relations, and local Employee Relations colleagues to address root causes. Educates employees, managers, and leaders at all levels about effective management practices and leadership styles.
5. Using data and analytics, provides guidance and direction to managers to enhance diversity and inclusion efforts, support workplace culture, and improve employee engagement
6. Partners with system ER/LR COE and Office of General Counsel to assist with the preparation of a response to complaints filed with the MCAD, EEOC or other relevant agencies. May be required to attend and/or testify at hearings and arbitrations as appropriate.
7. Consults with HRBPs and managers concerning the processing of problem resolution cases, assists with gathering all required documentation and takes lead on problem resolution cases directly related to investigations that the ERP conducted, as necessary.
8. Partners with ER/LR Center of Excellence to creates, customizes, and presents workshops concerning employee relations issues, such as Harassment, Progressive Discipline, Employment and Labor Laws, Workplace Violence and ADA/FMLA to managers and HR professionals.
9. Conducts complex climate surveys to assess the general environmental tone within a department or between departments to determine areas of employee concern. Partners with ER/LR, HRBP and Manager to develop action plans to address issues.
10. Manages Interactive Dialogue for requests for Reasonable Accommodations in partnership with Occupational Health, HRBPs, and Operational leadership, and partners with ER/LR as necessary on complex cases.
11. Maintains a current body of knowledge of employment and labor laws.
12. Assists with the development, updating, and interpretation of employee relations policies and procedures.
13. Develops and maintains positive and effective working relationships with all colleagues.
14. May be asked to support and partner in HRBP responsibilities as needed including, but not limited to, areas of Organizational Change and Development, data analytics and dashboard management, intervention and coaching, policy interpretation and communications, training development, committee participation, etc.
15. Using independent judgment, escalates issues to senior leadership as needed.
16. Performs other duties and projects as assigned
Requirements:

The Senior Manager, Clinical Partner Outsourcing (CPO) ensures seamless execution of clinical studies by developing robust supplier contracts through commercial negotiations and resolving commercial and operational challenges. Accountabilities:
- Responsible for the development and finalization of study level contracts and change orders in partnership with key functions and aligned with Master Service Agreements, to ensure predictable delivery, quality and alignment to Takeda's requirements, values and policies.
- Lead ballparking, contracting and commercial management of complex clinical studies, understanding study requirements and translating into robust supplier contracts across a broad category of suppliers supporting R&D activities for assigned therapeutic areas and studies
- Apply appropriate commercial constructs, aligned to business requirements, to enable study start, even with evolving assumptions
- Utilize cost models and workbooks to validate contract pricing and budget assumptions for complex agreements and develop enhancements to improve validation capabilities
- Drive negotiations with CRO's and suppliers to secure optimal terms for Takeda
- Manage contract amendments throughout the study lifecycle
- Support study teams in completing final reconciliation at study closeout

Job Purpose:Β
The Talent Acquisition Compliance Sr. Specialist ensures recruiting and hiring activities comply with employment and immigration laws, internal policies, and audit standards. This role monitors compliance controls, maintains accurate documentation, and identifies risks or process gaps across the Talent Acquisition lifecycle. As a trusted partner to Talent Acquisition, HR, and Compliance teams, the specialist promotes consistent, equitable, and compliant hiring practices. The Care Partner is a support care provider who functions under the direction of the Registered Nurse. The Care Partner primary focus will be to promote a positive patient experience by partnering with the nurse, physician, healthcare team and other healthcare providers to provide excellence in patient experience; and assist with daily living activities and comfort measures. The Care Partner assists other health care providers with safe, age appropriate and culturally aware care by performing basic patient care functions; i.e. ADL's, ambulation, and vital signs.
The Care Partner may require approved advanced technical training skills may be required i.e. phlebotomy, simple treatments, dressing changes, oral suctioning, and discontinuing Foley catheters. We're seeking an Administrative Business Partner to provide support to senior leaders on our Engineering and Product leadership team. The Associate & Labor Relations Partner is a key member of the Associate and Labor Relations Center of Excellence (COE), reporting directly to the Manager of Associate & Labor Relations. This role is instrumental in cultivating a positive, compliant, and inclusive workplace by leading complex employee relations investigations, supporting labor relations strategy, and ensuring consistent application of policies and procedures. The Partner plays a critical role in resolving workplace concerns, managing union relationships, and supporting organizational compliance with employment laws and collective bargaining agreements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Associate Relations:
- Serve as the primary investigator for complex employee relations matters, including allegations of misconduct, harassment, discrimination, and retaliation.
- Conduct thorough, impartial investigations and prepare detailed documentation and recommendations.
- Provide coaching and guidance to managers on performance management, corrective action, and conflict resolution.
- Support the resolution of EEOC claims and other regulatory complaints in collaboration with legal and compliance teams.
- Labor Relations:
- Lead or support the negotiation of collective bargaining agreements (CBAs), ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Serve as a liaison with union representatives to maintain positive labor-management relationships.
- Manage grievance and arbitration processes, ensuring timely and fair resolution in accordance with CBAs and policies.
- Provide guidance to leaders on contract interpretation and labor-related matters.
- Policy & Compliance:
- Ensure consistent application of HR policies and procedures across all employee and labor relations matters.
- Monitor trends in associate relations and labor activity to identify risks and recommend proactive solutions.
- Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including Title VII, ADA, FMLA, and NLRA.
- Training & Development:
- Assist in the development and delivery of training for leaders on topics such as investigations, documentation, conflict resolution, and labor relations fundamentals.
- Promote awareness and understanding of policies, procedures, and best practices across the organization.
- Organizational & Operational Support
- Partner with HR Business Partners and leaders to support a positive workplace culture and address emerging concerns.
- Complete special projects and other duties as assigned to support the goals of the Associate & Labor Relations COE.
Job Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelorβs degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Advanced HR certifications (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP) preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years of direct labor relations experience.
- Demonstrated experience conducting workplace investigations and managing complex associate relations issues.
- Experience with union negotiations and grievance handling required.
- Experience in a COE environment or within a complex, regulated industry is a plus.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of employment and labor laws, including EEOC regulations and collective bargaining processes.
- Proven ability to conduct sensitive investigations with discretion, fairness, and professionalism.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to build trust and credibility with associates, leaders, and union representatives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
