Overview

TalentFish is casting a line for a Trauma Registrar. This is a 3+ month contract with intent to convert to permanent hire!


The Trauma Registrar will support our client’s hospital Trauma Program by ensuring accurate abstraction, coding, reporting, and maintenance of trauma registry data in compliance with NTDB, TQIP, and NORTR standards, as well as internal quality initiatives.


This is not an ED registration role. The selected candidate must be able to step in immediately and contribute independently without formal training.


What You Bring to the Role (Ideal Experience)

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
  • CSTR, RHIT, CCS, or Associate's Degree in Allied Health (Anatomy & Physiology emphasis preferred).
  • 3–5 years of Trauma Registry experience (TraumaBase required).
  • 2+ years of AIS coding within Trauma Registration Databases.
  • Experience abstracting ICD-10 diagnoses and procedures.
  • Experience calculating ISS and working with AIS scoring.
  • Strong understanding of NTDB, TQIP, and NORTR reporting requirements.
  • Ability to navigate TraumaBase independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong typing skills (speed at least 20 WPM).
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.


What You'll Do (Skills Used in this Position)

  • Identify trauma patients for entry into the Trauma Registry.
  • Abstract required clinical data from medical records including ICD-10 diagnoses, procedures, ISS/AIS scoring, and registry-required elements.
  • Perform data entry and quality verification within TraumaBase.
  • Conduct data searches and generate registry reports as requested.
  • Compile statistical data, analyze trends, and support research initiatives.
  • Develop periodic reports to monitor quality indicators and trauma patient demographics.
  • Assist with Trauma Committee reporting and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Identify case-specific performance improvement opportunities.
  • Support clerical functions including preparation of correspondence and report documentation.
  • Maintain organized filing systems and complete follow-through on registry documentation.
  • Adhere to hospital policies, patient safety standards, and quality-of-care initiatives.


Compensation and Employment

This role requires authorization to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship. The expected pay rate for this position is $20 – $30 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.   • Provide guidance and oversight to regional Valve Services group during online and outage activities execution functions through routine performance monitoring, audits, self-assessment, and lessons learned for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate and interface with CECs to plan, schedule, and execute work activities.
  • Manage and monitor department resources and budgets to ensure optimum performance and equipment reliability.
  • Hire, develop, retain and mentoring of talent required to support the organization.
  • All other job assignments and/or duties pursuant to company policy or as directed by management to include but not limited to: (Emergency Response duties and/or coverage, Department duty coverage and/or call out, and positions outside of department in support of outage activities etc.)

 

Minimum Qualifications

The position responsibilities are to optimize patients to maximize their rehabilitation activities.

Our inpatient rehabilitation hospital uses an interdisciplinary team approach that includes physical, speech and occupational therapists, rehabilitation physicians, rehabilitation nurses, case managers, dietitians and more, combined with our advanced technology and expertise, to help patients achieve their goals.

Patients will receive at least three hours of therapy five days per week while under the constant care of registered nurses, many of whom specialize in rehabilitation.

We are an inpatient rehabilitation hospital that provides inpatient physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech language pathology for stroke, brain injury and other complex neurological and orthopedic conditions.

Finances Varies per location: Income Guarantee with the ability to earn over $400,000 a year Average 15 patient encounters a day, earn over $310,000 Program Directorship earns an additional $15-$50,000 a year Sing on bonus and relocation of over $40,000 Locations: Parkersburg, West Virginia Princeton, West Virginia If any of these locations are of interest.
