What You Will Do:



The Toolmaker/Moldmaker is responsible for working with the lead mold maker to build new tooling per CAD or detailed prints, evaluate, maintain, and repair existing molds and production tooling. This will be achieved while maintaining HellermannTyton's Quality and EHS certifications by supporting all corporate policies, procedures, work instructions and required documentation.

  • Ability to read, interpret, and analyze engineering designs and computer-based CAD plans and models.

  • Must possess good written and verbal communication skills

JOB SUMMARY

As a Toolmaker III, you play a critical role in developing and optimizing advanced tooling solutions for manufacturing processes. Leveraging your extensive experience and expertise as a toolmaker, you are responsible for designing, fabricating, manufacturing, and maintaining complex tools, dies, molds, and fixtures. Your role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, providing technical guidance, and leading projects to drive process improvements and efficiency gains.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interprets complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to identify tooling requirements and constraints.
  • Utilizes advanced computer-aided design (CAD) software to help create intricate 2D and 3D models of tooling components, ensuring optimal design and manufacturability.
  • Directs the Toolmaker Is and IIs on daily tasks.
  • Operates various precision machine tools, including CNC machines, EDM machines, grinders, and lathes, to fabricate and modify complex tooling components.
  • Conducts thorough inspections and dimensional checks using advanced metrology equipment to ensure the accuracy and quality of finished tooling components.
  • Assembles, fits, and tests intricate tooling components, verifying functionality, performance, and conformance to specifications.

Role Description


Skram seeks journeyman level furniture makers to join our team. We produce made-to-order heirloom-quality modern designs, working primarily in wood but also integrating assorted metals, leather and other natural materials. We seek thoughtful, disciplined, career-minded individuals with direct experience in our field.


This is a full-time on-site role in Burlington, NC, for an Experienced Artisan Furniture Maker. The primary responsibilities of the role include fabricating high-quality furniture pieces using traditional and modern woodworking techniques. The role also involves preparing materials, operating hand tools and machinery, interpreting technical drawings, assembling custom pieces, and ensuring that all products meet Skram's exacting quality standards. Collaboration with a skilled team, maintaining safety standards, and bringing creative problem-solving skills to custom projects are integral to the position.


Candidates should have:

· Familiarity with traditional woodworking equipment and processes utilized during timber milling. This includes material selection, face-jointing of large material to remove bow and twist, planing, SLR saw use to fabricate large tables, casegoods, seating, etc.

· Ability to read shop drawings, and to speak and think in fractional and decimal equivalents at increments of 1/32”.

·Understanding of and ability to execute traditional and contemporary joinery techniques per the Company’s standards and tolerances.

·Open-mindedness, willingness to learn new skills, and the flexibility to ‘wear many hats’ as needed in the course of fabrication of heirloom quality objects.


Experience/expertise with CNC operation will be regarded as a plus.
