Quad Westampton, NJ is looking for experienced Inserting Operators. This role ensures effective operation including safety, make-ready, quality, production, training, and basic maintenance. Utilizes all Quad procedures, and maintains required paperwork relating to inserting operation. Communicates professionally with all internal and external customers. This position directly helps Quad drive profitability by reducing the cost of errors through consistent work quality and improved efficiencies. Inserting position is day shift 12-hours (7am-7pm). Starting salary is $21.55 but willing to go higher based off experience and knowledge of our equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES

* Reads and understands Job Instructions, Formatted sample, machine templates, and Make-ready/sign-off procedures
* Performs Daily Preventative Maintenance on assigned inserter equipment
* Responsible for the safe and effective operation of assigned insert equipment.
* Performs Quality Checks on products.
* Provides training and direction to newly hired or promoted insert crewmembers.
* Responsible for maintaining production standards
* Follows all established safety procedures and guidelines.

Quad Lomira is hiring a Part-Time Building Maintenance Mechanic. This role is responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining the boiler and solvent recovery systems to keep them in safe operating condition at all times. This includes boilers and their support equipment, solvent recovery from press to the adsorbers, water treatment equipment (boilers and cooling towers), chillers, pumps, air compressors, low pressure air blowers, vacuum pumps, and the fire suppression system.
The new hire will perform skilled mechanical maintenance work for a variety of systems with the primary responsibility being for boiler and solvent recovery systems. To contribute to the overall success of the department the operator will need to perform the following duties as well as others that are deemed necessary to maintain the operation. The position requires the operator to be able to perform the job responsibilities safety, efficiently, in accordance with DNR and EPA guidelines and regulations, and with minimal supervision.

* Boiler operation: Operate, adjust, shutdown and start-up equipment without supervision.
* Perform water testing and chemical treatment for boilers and cooling towers.
* Repair pumps & piping, repack valves and replace seals.
* Keep equipment logs up to date.
* Operate, maintain and control plant HPA, LPA and vacuum equipment.
* Operate, maintain and control solvent recovery systems.
* Generate reports for the EPA.
* Operate and control the chilled water for plant chiller operation.
* Monitor the fire protection system for the facility.

Qualifications:
Education

* High school diploma or GED

Experience

* Operation of equipment in boiler room including boilers, de-aerators, pumps, water softeners, reverse osmosis units, water treatment equipment, chillers, cooling towers, air compressors, LPA blowers, and vacuum pumps

About the Role


As an Offset Second Press Operator, you’ll play a critical role in delivering exceptional print quality, ensuring client satisfaction, and maintaining a safe, efficient work environment. In this position, you will need:



  • Make ready and operate equipment based on the written instructions provided.
  • Establish and maintain color and/or fold and mechanical quality to BPC standards.
  • Continuously monitor the product for quality and approve or reject.
  • Direct, guide, and coordinate the activities of assigned crew members to exceed production standards while maintaining customer quality.
  • Perform assigned make-ready duties.
  • Complete required general maintenance and lubrication assignments.
  • Complete required documentation, electronic and paper, for an assigned job.
  • Perform duties of other Print Service manufacturing positions as needed, following requisiteΒ training.

Required Qualifications



  • 2-3 years of previous Print Operator experience, including setup and operation.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude isΒ required.
  • Observe and monitor machine operations to determine whether adjustments are needed to run the product for the highest quality in the safestΒ manner.
  • Perform basic maintenance andΒ troubleshooting.
  • Must have the ability to utilize a computer to ensure the quality of theΒ product.
  • Ability to lift 10-15 pounds continuously, ability to lift to 50 pounds occasionally, stand for long hours, use hands and wrists continuously in controlled movement, receive and follow instructions, and use vision to identifyΒ defects.

5 am - 3 pm Monday- Friday

Essential Job Functions:




  • Prepare for Operation - Check order documentation to prepare for make-ready operations. Make ready for production by setting up machine components to create products in line with customer specifications.
  • Operate Sheeting Machine - Operate assigned equipment according to Company policies and standard operating procedures. Observe and monitor machine operations to determine whether adjustments are needed. Perform routine adjustments as needed to alter position, alignment, speed, or pressure.
  • Perform Maintenance - Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting of assigned equipment during shift.
  • Perform Quality Checks - Complete quality checklist(s) and other paperwork according to established standard operating procedures and perform quality checks of product throughout to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Perform Line Clearance - Clean assigned area by removing all products from the line, trash, boxes, and other supplies associated with a completed order.


Required Qualifications:



  • Strong knowledge of the equipment platform.
  • Solid Continuous Improvement background.
  • Expertise in all technologies of Production equipment.
  • Expert mechanical aptitude with experience in troubleshooting and maintenance of production equipment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be self-motivated to lead, model, and direct leaders' and crew members' efforts to maintain schedule and deadlines.
  • Must be able to read and follow directions and able to manage multiple tasks/projects.

Quad is seeking a Flexo Press Operator for our Spartanburg, SC location.Β  Β We are looking for operators who are flexible and can work the night shift:Β 

4 pm – 2 am (Mon-Thurs)


Wages start between $19.00 - $25.00 / hour or more based on relevant work experience and a strong employment history.Β 



Essential Functions of this position include:



  • Prepare for Operation - Access job ticket information and set up a flexographic printing press to produce labels and other products to customer specifications.Β  Ensure the machine is adequately stocked with the correct raw materials for each job.Β 
  • Operate Flexographic Press - Operate assigned equipment in accordance with company safety standards and departmental SOPs to produce printed products according to customer specifications.Β  Continually monitor supply levels of inks, paper, and other required materials to add as needed.Β  Make routine adjustments as needed to maintain print quality and correct any issues as soon as possible.
  • Perform Troubleshooting & Maintenance - Observe and monitor machine operations to determine whether adjustments are needed.Β  Perform basic maintenance and advanced troubleshooting of assigned equipment during shift.
  • Perform Quality Checks - Complete quality checklist(s) and other required documentation.Β  Perform visual quality checks of the product throughout the printing process to ensure customer satisfaction.Β  Flag bad product for removal from job run.Β  Cut samples from each job and compare them to product standards to ensure compliance with customer specifications.
  • Perform Line Clearance - Clean assigned area by removing all products from the line, trash, boxes, and other supplies associated with a completed order.Β 


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities include:


  • Knowledge of the setup and operation of a flexographic printing press,, specifically Mark Andy P5 experience preferred, but will consider those with experience on other models as well.Β 
  • Mechanical aptitude and skills to perform troubleshooting and maintenance.

  • Ability to analyze problems for root causes and determine solutions.
  • Ability to match and detect differences in similar color shades and hues.
