PURPOSE AND SCOPE

- Ownership of CI projects as assigned. Lead projects, provide data and set up projects to achieve CI goals.
- Organize and lead process and product improvement teams/initiatives, using established project management techniques, to improve product quality and process performance and lead the implementation of those improvements.
- Ensure that manufacturing specifications are known, understood, and communicated.
- Provide engineering expertise as needed.
- Analyze production and test data to establish consistent production results.
- Utilize data to recommend design changes to correct/resolve problems and contribute to the optimization of products to the required technological specifications or end uses.
- Ability to work and communicate with all levels of the organization as required. This will range from hourly production employee up to and including the Operations Director.
- Work schedule must be flexible to allow for attendance at trials/production during nights and/or weekends if necessary.

The ideal candidate has a doctorate degree in educational/psychological measurement, statistics, or related field with zero to three years’ experience and has the ability to effectively use statistical analysis programs and IRT software including (but not limited to) SAS, R, In addition, experience in the principles and application of psychometrics including item response theory (i.e., item calibration, item evaluation, linking/equating, and IRT scoring), classical test theory, and standard setting. A reasonable estimate for Lecturer positions is an annual salary range of $70,977 - $117,315. The UC academic salary scales set the minimum pay at appointment. See the following table(s) for the current salary scale(s) for this position:
Percent time:
17% -83% (one - five courses) over the academic year. . Most academic-year appointments are assigned at 37% per course per semester which equates to total pay per course of $13,130 -$21,703. Summer Sessions courses are typically 11% per course which equates to total pay per course of $7,807 -$12,904. Please note, currently, we are not recruiting for any full-time positions. It is unlikely we will hire a candidate for more than one class in the regular academic year, and more than two classes in the summer.

The Department of Economics is seeking outstanding instructors to be appointed in the Non-Senate Lecturer title series who can teach Economics courses that may include large courses (300 or more students)
General Duties
In addition to teaching responsibilities, general duties include (but are not limited to) managing graders and/or graduate student instructors (teaching assistants), holding office hours, assigning grades, advising students, preparing course materials (e.g., syllabus), and maintaining a course website. Those teaching large courses are expected to work with, meet with, and mentor graduate student instructors.
