Our Senior Attorneys are trusted litigators who drive strategy, manage complex cases, and help mentor the next generation of trial lawyers within the firm. We are looking for someone with a strong litigation background who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment and is passionate about advocating for individuals harmed by discrimination, retaliation, harassment, wrongful conduct, and personal injury.

Gruenberg Law Group is a firm for fearless attorneys—lawyers who are determined to stand strong for individual rights and who approach litigation with urgency, discipline, and strategic thinking. Unlike many firms, we try cases. Our attorneys are expected to litigate aggressively, prepare every case as if it will go to trial, and deliver exceptional outcomes for our clients.

This role provides the opportunity to lead cases, shape litigation strategy, and work directly with firm leadership while building a highly successful plaintiff-side practice.

  • Appear in court for hearings, case management conferences, and motion arguments.
  • Lead mediation strategy and negotiate settlements.
  • Prepare cases for trial, including working with experts, exhibits, and trial preparation.
  • Provide strategic counseling and guidance to clients throughout the litigation process.
  • Supervise and mentor associate attorneys and support staff.
  • Maintain organized case files and ensure deadlines and litigation milestones are met.
  • Collaborate with firm leadership to evaluate new cases and develop litigation strategies.
  • Exhibit exceptional written and oral advocacy skills.
  • Utilize case management systems to ensure accurate documentation, calendaring, and compliance with firm procedures and legal requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Active California Bar license (Required).
  • 4+ years of litigation experience, preferably in employment law, personal injury, or complex plaintiff-side litigation.
  • Demonstrated experience managing cases through litigation, including depositions and court appearances.
  • Trial experience or meaningful trial preparation experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Strong case management and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a litigation team.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and desire to build and grow a successful plaintiff-side practice.
  • Bilingual Spanish is a strong plus.
  • In-person position in San Diego.

COMPENSATION + BENEFITS

  • Compensation is structured to provide guaranteed yearly compensation of at least $250,000 (minimum) between base salary and a generous fee split on cases you manage with uncapped earning potential.
  • 10% of all fees generated on cases assigned by the firm.
  • 25%-50% of all fees generated on cases personally brought to the firm (depending on years of experience).
  • Opportunity to work alongside highly respected trial lawyers with nationally recognized verdicts.

Family Law Attorney — Kicking Ass in Court and in Life

Most law firms will tell you they’re “fast-paced,” “professional,” and “client-focused.”

We’ll tell you the truth: we kick ass.

At Vicevich Law, we built a new kind of Montana law firm — one where great attorneys do high-level work without selling their souls to the billable-hour gods. We fight hard for our clients, we win, and then we go fishing, skiing, or horseback riding because life in Montana is too good not to enjoy it.

The Gig

We’re looking for a Family Law Attorney who’s equal parts strategist, problem-solver, and decent human being. You’ll handle family law cases across Montana. We work smart, use tech that actually helps, and back each other up.

You won’t be chained to a desk or a time sheet.

You’ll have autonomy, support, and the kind of balance most lawyers only dream about.

What You’ll Do

Client intake

Client counseling

Drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and proposals

Mediation/Arbitration

Hearings and Trials

Handle family law cases like the pro you are

Collaborate with financial advisors, accountants, and our team of legal badasses

Bring empathy, clarity, and confidence to every client interaction

What You Bring

JD + Montana Bar admission (or ability to get it)

Strong knowledge of family law

Excellent communication skills — you can explain complex things simply

A sense of humor, a work ethic, and a pulse (we like people who are alive)

Bonus points if you’ve ever caught a trout before court

The Perks

$120K salary with reasonable expectations or $80K + commission if you like controlling your own earnings

Paid time off + holidays

No arbitrary billable-hour quota

A team that values results, respect, and actual lives outside of work

Montana — where your money goes further and your weekends are better

Why Vicevich Law

Because we’re not here to play by the old rules.

We’ve ditched the warehouse firm model and built a place where great lawyers can do their best work and still make it home before sunset.

If your idea of a good law firm involves collaboration, excellence, humor, and yes — kicking ass for your clients — then you’ll fit right in here.
