The Production Operator is responsible for setting up, loading and operating production machines, and making necessary adjustments to ensure the quality of the product meets required specifications. The Production Operator may work in one of three areas - Spooling, Stranding or Closing, and is responsible for his/her own safety and the safety of those around the machines. The Production Operator works under the direct supervision of a Production Supervisor and the technical oversight of the Process Engineering and Quality department.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Record set-up information at the start of each order.
- Remove empty bobbins from the previously completed order and load full bundles of wire or bobbins using appropriate lifting devices.
- Weld or knot new wire new supply to trailing end of previous order (if applicable).
- Thread machine by pulling wire or strands through guides, tension rollers, and/or stranding or pre-forming heads.
- Secure, install and adjust the proper dies, stranding/pre-forming head, crushing rollers, post-former and carboloy rings as required by the order.
- Set the proper lay according to order specifications.
- Adjust tension and die pressure at the beginning of the order and as required throughout the entire order.
- Start lube pump as required by the order.
- Inspect and replace tensioning devices as needed.
- Inspect the set-change, including cutting a strand for helix-height measurement before requesting approval from the production supervisor.
- Properly tag product, stage in proper storage area, and record all production.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Perform all job duties in accordance with work instructions and quality standards.

Brief Description
This position is responsible for coordinating and expediting material/work order flow through the service center facility. Requires focus on custom made engineered components, assemblies and rebuilds. Maintains system data and develops daily/weekly production schedules in conjunction with sales, engineering, warehouse and purchasing departments. Travel is required on occasion but is estimated at less than 10% with occasional visits to key suppliers, customers, engineering offices, and other company facilities.
The role of this position is to provide technical expertise for the facility. Success is measured by accurate operation estimates and schedules resulting in a even flow of production orders through all departments in the shop.
Work Environment
Position is primarily in an air-conditioned office environment. Time is also spent on shop floor where there is no climate control and personal protective equipment is required, including but not limited to steel toed shoes/boots and safety glasses.

We are supporting a manufacturing facility in the Madison, IN area seeking a Production Control Analyst to take ownership of inventory accuracy, work-in-progress (WIP) flow, and production control processes across the plant.
This role is highly visible and hands-on, focused on building structure, improving accuracy, and driving operational efficiency across inventory, materials, and production workflows. The ideal candidate has experience in a manufacturing environment and is comfortable working cross-functionally with operations, shipping, and accounting.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and improve inventory accuracy, visibility, and organization across the facility
- Manage and optimize WIP and finished goods flow throughout production
- Design and implement a cycle count program based on inventory risk and movement
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes and corrective actions
- Improve ERP system accuracy related to inventory, locations, and transactions
- Develop and maintain inventory location and labeling systems for ease of use on the floor
- Partner with operations to ensure proper material staging and flow
- Support shipping and receiving accuracy, including documentation and verification of materials
- Collaborate with accounting/finance to ensure accurate inventory valuation and cost tracking
- Utilize Excel and ERP systems to analyze data and drive process improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field
- 2–5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in one or more of the following:
- Production control
- Inventory management
- Materials planning
- Supply chain operations
- Hands-on experience managing:
- Inventory accuracy and cycle counts
- Work-in-progress (WIP) tracking
- ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Plex, Epicor, etc.)
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced plant environment

Job Description AVAILABLE SHIFTS: 1st Shift: Mon-Fri 6am-2:30pm 2nd Shift: Mon-Fri 2pm-10:30pm 3rd Shift: Mon-Fri 10pm-6:30am MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Acts as a technical and workflow lead by coordinating daily manufacturing tasks, prioritizing activities, and supporting efficient production flow without formal people management responsibility.
Provides on-the-job guidance, mentoring, and training to manufacturing technicians and lower-level operators to ensure adherence to procedures, safety standards, and GMP requirements.
Performs advanced, hands-on biopharmaceutical manufacturing activities, including media and buffer preparation, aseptic processing, equipment cleaning and sterilization, and any responsibilities to support production and schedule adherence.
Sets up, operates, monitors, and adjusts bioprocessing equipment such as autoclaves, washer-sterilizers, filtration systems, fermenters, and fill-finish equipment.
Prepares, cleans, assembles, and stages tanks, glassware, components, and systems for batch manufacturing operations in accordance with approved procedures.
Monitors critical process parameters, production data, and outputs to ensure compliance with batch records, specifications, and quality standards.
Identifies, documents, and escalates deviations, abnormal events, and process issues in accordance with quality systems and regulatory expectations.
Maintains accurate and complete batch documentation, equipment logs, inventory records, and other GMP compliance documentation.
Follows and reinforces standard operating procedures (SOPs), manufacturing instructions, and all applicable safety, quality, and regulatory guidelines.
Collaborates with engineering, quality, and maintenance teams on troubleshooting, investigations, testing, and process optimization activities.
Supports continuous improvement initiatives by providing technical input, identifying opportunities for efficiency or quality improvements, and assisting with implementation of approved changes.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS Education High school diploma or GED required Work Experience 2-3 years of manufacturing experience.
Experience in aseptic manufacturing experience in GMP and ISO-cleanroom environments.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Proven ability to operate, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain biopharmaceutical manufacturing equipment.
Demonstrated attention to detail with the ability to accurately complete GMP documentation and support investigations and escalate issues.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to guide and collaborate with others.
Comfortable working in cleanroom and controlled environments while adhering to gowning, safety, and quality requirements.
Flexibility to work mandatory overtime based on business needs.
Ability to speak, read, and write English with proficiency PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS Education Bachelor's degree in STEM field Work Experience 2 years of hands-on experience in GMP-regulated pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical manufacturing.

The anticipated salary range for this position: $28.75
- $41.75 Hourly The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s location, education, experience, skills, and abilities.
Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
