Manufacturing Engineer – Precision Machining

Engauge Workforce Solutions is partnering with a precision machining operation in Racine, WI to hire a Manufacturing Engineer. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working closely with production teams and supporting the full manufacturing lifecycle—from quoting to production launch.
The position works directly with Plant Manager, production leadership, and machine operators to support CAM programming, quoting, and process improvements across the shop.
Key Responsibilities
CAM Programming & Quoting
- Use SolidWorks and CAMWorks to generate machining programs and support quoting activities
- Develop G-code through CAMWorks to simulate machining processes and evaluate manufacturability
- Analyze customer prints and specifications to determine optimal machining strategies
- Generate accurate quotes by evaluating cycle times, tooling, materials, and process requirements
- Work with production teams to validate machining processes and ensure quote accuracy
Process Engineering & Production Support
- Develop machining routings and process strategies for production
- Troubleshoot machining issues with operators and leadership
- Optimize cycle times, tooling selections, and machining parameters
- Support new part introductions from quoting through production launch
Engineering & Documentation
- Create and maintain 3D models and 2D drawings in SolidWorks
- Maintain process documentation, routings, and work instructions
- Manage part data, BOMs, and documentation in the ERP system (Plex experience preferred)
- Support quality planning including PFMEA, control plans, and inspection strategies
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve machining processes and increase throughput
- Apply Lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve efficiency

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering
- 3–5+ years of engineering experience in a machining environment
- Strong experience with SolidWorks
- CAMWorks experience highly preferred
- Understanding of G-code and CNC machining processes
- Experience developing machining routings and cost estimates for quoting
- Familiarity with ERP systems (Plex preferred)
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills

Responsibilities:

Role Description
Perform duties necessary to monitor accurate tracking and valuation of product inventory. Includes other duties related to inventory consisting of reporting, analysis, and support and training for other staff.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing the Inventory Master file and ensuring compliance to policy and procedure. Reviewing for consistency and identification of discontinued products.
- System Administration for the Warehousing and Manufacturing Modules of the ERP.
- Data Extraction from ERP System for Inventory Transactions and Troubleshooting.
- Set up of new process in ERP system for tracking of Inventory. System enhancements, updates, and conversions.
- Prepares and directs routine cycle counts of specific inventory products and consumable supply items. This includes all ethanol inventories required for external reporting compliance at least monthly.
- Directs full physical count of all inventories (Finished Good, Raw Materials, Packaging, and Consumable Supply Items) on a scheduled basis. Reconciles physical count to perpetual count in accounting system. Requires travel to facilities.
- Research with operations reported or identified inventory discrepancies to determine root cause and process improvements for product quantities and costing.
- Responsible to determine the need to make adjusting transactions to correct inventory balances, correcting either on hand quantities and/or average cost as needed, ensuring lot numbers and representation in transaction history is properly documented.
- Prepares and reviews the Dead Stock/Slow Moving/NC Report and works with operations to formulate a game plan for the use or disposal of the products.
- Responsible for maintenance of product formulas and their revisions in the ERP system at the direction of production, sales, and/or quality control. This includes the listing of specific work instructions and process/product related notations.
- Responsible for understanding tracking and reporting requirements of TTB and preparation of monthly ethanol flow reports.
- Sets up new products, blend products and packaging items applying standard procedures for required fields in ERP system. Verifies that existing product codes do not already exist and explores other options like the addition of a formula version or a customer-product as an alternative. Distributes product information and product codes to sales, purchasing, compliance and customer service.
- Routinely reviews labor and overhead costing rates and application to production formulas. Through observation and discussion with operations and sales personnel, tracks and analyze the labor, analytical costs, other consumable elements associated with completion of production activities.
- Confers and coordinates with CFO and other interested parties to prepare for absorption rate changes.
- Provides training, support and backup as needed to employees interacting with inventory transactions from Receiving to Invoicing, and product returns for all facilities.
- Audits inventory related transactions to ensure proper recording in system, to include receivers, production posting, location transfers, lot identification and labeling.
- Works with various departments, including Purchasing, Production, Accounts Payable and General Ledger to resolve inventory processing questions and issues.
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify when more information is required and where processes can be improved.
- Assists Sales and Management with various reports and information when needed for gross margin impact.

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician/Electrician (THIRD SHIFT) to join our team! You will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, performing routine maintenance, fixing any faulty wiring, and maintaining production and facility equipment.
Work is performed in a production environment which requires exposure to all temperature changes, high noise levels, working around moving equipment, vibrations, dust, etc. Working hours will be a set schedule but must be flexible with working extended hours when required.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect on a routine basis electrical equipment wiring, fixtures, and other components to ensure they remain functional and are up to code, as well as to identify any hazards or issues.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
- Respond to work order requests in a timely fashion by analyzing test results, machine error messages, and information obtained from operators to diagnose equipment problems.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments. This includes recording parts and materials used.
- Perform mechanical skills including and not limited to PLC, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
- Ensure the safety needs are given a to priority in operations support and work execution. Some examples are Confined Space Entry, LOTO, Hand Tool Safety Use, etc.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, or AA degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance preferred.
- 3+ years of manufacturing experience, strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with PLC experience
- AC Motors, Electrical Panels, Power Distribution, and VFD’s experience preferred.
- Experience with Industrial Manufacturing, injection molding, industrial tools, and equipment.
- Ability to handle physical workload.
- Must read and understand schematics, drawings and diagrams.
- Must be dependable, punctual and have a good attendance record.
- Ability to understand and communicate instructions in English.

The Materials Supervisor is responsible for all internal material flow from incoming receiving/inspection to line side presentation for production including end-of-line pick, pack and ship, de-trashing, all material movements, supermarket sizing and replenishment, and order picking for intra-plant deliveries. Success in this role is defined by driving significant continuous improvement in material handling, inventory accuracy, cycle counting and timely transactional reporting. This will be measured by ongoing improvements in delivery performance (internal and external), cycle count progress, cycle count accuracy, uninterrupted material movement for production lines and efficient use of labor resources.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- 2 years of materials leadership
- 2 years of experience leading teams, developing people or organizing tasks
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience using SAP or equivalent ERP system (Oracle, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics) and Microsoft Office.
- Formal leadership or team development training.
- Oversee inventory management and control, accuracy, and established inventory guidelines and procedures.
Essential Duties:
- Ensure timely material flow within the facility as well as timely delivery in receiving material from other locations as well as preparation for shipment of parts to other facilities.
- Develop and implement standard process and strategies that enable production efficiency improvements.
- Lead, Supervise, and direct materials staff development through education, training, coaching, mentoring and certification in the execution of improvement priorities and the achievement of key performance indicators.
- Manage and optimize daily warehousing operations including staging, cycle count, and storage of materials.
- Ensure efficient and accurate materials presentation to support production operations.
- Partner with Quality, Purchasing and Production to develop effective and efficient solutions to customer quality and delivery issues and to achieve objectives and KPIs.
- Ensure high level of communication between planning, purchasing and production to ensure a high degree of customer satisfaction
- Lead and improve Material/Inventory Management best practices including Warehouse Management (Cycle Count Accuracy, Transactions, Bar Coding, RFID) and Fill Rate.
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels for daily material management balancing resource capacity to workload.
- Act as SAP SuperUser within functional area as assigned.
