Position Summary

We have an immediate opening for two (2) Paralegals to join our Homeless Prevention Unit. Reporting directly to the Supervising Attorney and unit attorneys, the Paralegal will provide essential support to both clients and attorneys, ensuring proper case management and documentation.

The ideal candidate will be capable of working with independence, professionalism, and attention to detail, while demonstrating compassion for vulnerable populations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The Paralegal will be responsible for:

  • Contacting clients, the County, and opposing parties.
  • Responding to program inquiries and referral questions.
  • Scheduling client appointments.
  • Reviewing court dockets for active cases.
  • Conducting background checks and eviction history searches.
  • Researching rental properties and landlord ownership.
  • Conducting intake interviews.
  • Gathering and organizing financial and personal documentation, including tax returns, pay stubs, and benefit statements (Social Security, SNAP, etc.).
  • Preparing basic budgets of client household expenses.
  • Drafting intake summaries and maintaining case files.
  • Preparing correspondence and drafting legal documents.
  • Delivering and filing documents as needed.

We are seeking a flexible, experienced In-House Employment/HR Lawyer to join our team. You will be our key advisor on all employment and HR-related legal matters. Essential Responsibilities
