The Effector Digital Products (EDP) department designs digital electronic circuit cards and electronic units which are supported from proposal through transition to production. Our systems are subject to environments ranging from the frigid, sub-zero vacuum of space to the blistering heat of the desert floor, to the high pressures of the ocean depths.

The Digital, RF and Power Team is seeking a Principal Digital Design Engineer with digital electronics design and analysis skills to join our team.

This position is 100% ONSITE in Tucson, Arizona.

What You Will Do

We are looking for candidates willing to collaborate, innovate, and team with our engineers to generate and utilize today's cutting-edge technology to design digital electronics circuits that implement missile guidance, video and digital signal processing. Our technology base includes high-speed digital electronics, configurable logic, and homogeneous / heterogeneous multiprocessor designs.

The Principal Digital Design Engineer is responsible for the design, analysis, simulation, test, and integration of digital electronic modules and/or CCAs for Missile applications. The candidate should be experienced in all aspects of circuit card design including:

  • hardware designs with processors
  • FPGAs
  • memory
  • industry interfaces, such as PCIe, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, and UART

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
  • Minimum of 8 years of engineering digital circuit design experience to include at least 2 of the following:
    • Development and design of electronic circuit designs, multi-assembly system/unit design
    • Ability to take a design concept from the block diagram or requirements level to development of a complete hardware design, and verification via test and integration
    • Experience with PCB design process and expertise in tools used to design (schematic capture), analyze and simulate designs prior to hardware execution.

As a Radar Hardware Design Engineer, you will be a part of our Radar Engineering team. Responsibilities

In your role as a Radar Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing digital and analog circuits for our next-generation Radar system. You will be involved in all phases of development, from conception to production, tracing system-level requirements through to circuit-level design. You will drive the design and layout of a multi-processor with an FPGA on chip using DDR 4 memory, as well as designing switching and linear power supplies. The high-speed digital design is complemented by high-frequency analog and RF design up to 12GHz. You will own the schematic, layout, artwork generation and bring-up of hardware. You will be collaborating with the cross-functional teams, including mechanical and system engineering. You will be responsible for the certification of your design to DO-160, DO-254 design assurance and FCC certification. You will support radar system integration and testing in the engineering lab and on the aircraft.

Basic Success Criteria

  • Electrical Engineering fundamentals, typically gained through a Bachelor's Degree of Science or Engineering in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or a related discipline

  • 5+ years of professional hands-on experience with high-speed digital circuits, linear and switching power regulator circuits, PLL's, VGA, mixers etc.

  • Ability to use Circuit simulators, Altium schematic capture and layout, and SPICE simulation software

  • Ability to troubleshoot, find root cause, and resolve issues

The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking a Design and Analysis Engineer to lead the development, integration, and validation of complex electronic and electrical sensor subsystems for the P-8 aircraft. This position reports to the P-8 Mission Systems IPT Sensors Systems team and will be 100% onsite in Tukwila, WA.

The P-8 is a high-visibility, advanced commercial derivative military aircraft program supporting the U.S. Navy and international customers. As a Technical Lead Engineer (TLE) for sensor subsystems (e.g., electro-optical/infrared, electronic warfare, magnetic, radar, signals intelligence, surveillance/identification), you will ensure that equipment is installed correctly, safe to operate, and performs properly during final product functional testing. You will oversee the subsystem lifecycle from design requirements and specifications through supplier technical management, hardware/software integration, systems testing, lab and aircraft integration, flight testing, certification support, and safe-to-fly determinations.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead development and documentation of complex electronic and electrical system requirements.
  • Translate requirements into system architecture, hardware/software designs, and interface specifications.
  • Lead testing and validation efforts to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.
  • Oversee supplier performance monitoring to ensure system integration and compliance.
  • Provide production build support including build verification and disposition of nonconformance.
  • Lead troubleshooting during Installation and Check-Out and Production Acceptance Testing.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • For Expert Engineer: Minimum 9 years of experience in design, integration, and test of electrical systems.
  • For Consultant Engineer: Minimum 14 years of experience in design, integration, and test of electrical systems.
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry from an accredited institution.

The selected candidate will work with various teams of engineers and scientists with backgrounds in AESAs, Antennas, Radomes, Computational Electromagnetics Modeling (CEM), RF Test, Mechanical, Structural and Thermal analysis, Material Science, Process and Manufacturing Engineering and survivable antenna technology.

What You Will Do

Responsibilities:
  • Creates and builds new show and event product.
  • Installs, operates and maintains technical equipment for productions and events.

  • Read, understand, and implement plans and blueprints.
