ABOUT THE POSITION

Under general supervision of the Engineering Director/Manager, the job of the Hydraulic Design Engineer is responsible for design efforts from inception through production in new product development or existing product design.

The Hydraulic Design Engineer will work in collaboration with other engineers, cross-functional teams not limited to sales, manufacturing, purchasing, and service. They will develop conceptual and final design solutions manage and coordinate project activities, support existing product offerings, and perform testing or analysis of new and existing products to further Astec’s product line development goals.

This Hydraulic Design Engineer’s scope of work will focus on Hydraulically Controlled equipment such as track screening and crushing, mobile mining, portables, asphalt milling and paving, track and mobile and forestry, and stationary equipment.

The preferred work location is Yankton SD.

Deliverables and Responsibilities:

· Perform hydraulic design engineering as it relates to Astec product development and improvement projects.

· Effectively use 3-D CAD to model designs and use other engineering tools like Automation Studio to optimize solutions

· Create, check and maintain thorough engineering specifications and drawings

· Manage engineering changes per establish company procedures

· Interact with production personnel to define and solve manufacturing and/or design issues and implement cost reduction ideas with regards to the product

· Use root cause analysis and other problem-solving skills to determine opportunities to improve products and implement corrective actions.

· Responsible for achieving due dates and pre-defined requirements defined by management

· Be a technical resource as needed to support other departmental needs such as operations, quality, purchasing, service, et cetera

To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are:

· Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Agriculture, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering or related field

  • · Minimum 5 years’ experience in equipment design and manufacturing (mechanical, structural, hydraulic and electrical/control system design)

· Ability to develop and/or guide necessary computations such as load development, stress analysis, performance measurement, hydraulic circuit analysis, costing, etc. and interpret the results as necessary

· Ability to lead DFMEA’s.

· Researches industry standards to stay abreast of latest applicable requirements. Performs GAP analysis on standards.

  • · Proficient with personal computing, Microsoft Office Suite, 3-D CAD software applications (SolidWorks preferred) and ERP systems (Oracle preferred)

About the Role

We are seeking a Associate Digital Design Director (Senior level) to help define and elevate ClearChoice visuals and communications. Reporting to the Creative Director, you will play a key role in building a premium web, digital and email presence that reflects the quality of the ClearChoice experience. You will collaborate closely with copywriters, strategists, and production partners to create ideas that feel modern, human, and unforgettable.

Traits for Success:

  • 8+ years of experience in art direction or design within agency, in-house teams, or digital environments
  • A strong portfolio that showcases craft, organization, conceptual thinking, and range (rough sketches and early ideas are welcome)
  • Excellent design, color and typographic skills
  • Expertise in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Undergraduate degree in related field
  • Resilience, curiosity, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment

  • Experience guiding partners within an evolving design system

Annual Pay Range: $103,000 ~ $125,000

Bullpen is partnering with Space Craft to recruit a Development & Design Associate to join their growing development team in Charlotte.

Space Craft is a design-driven real estate development firm focused on creating walkable neighborhoods and sustainable mixed-use communities. This role will work closely with the development, architecture, and construction teams to help shepherd projects from early concept through construction and delivery.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a design background and development exposure who wants to play a meaningful role in shaping high-quality urban development projects.


The Role

The Development & Design Associate will support the management of a growing portfolio of multifamily and mixed-use projects, coordinating with architects, consultants, and contractors to move projects through design, permitting, and construction phases.

This role will balance analytical problem-solving with hands-on project management, helping ensure projects are delivered on schedule, on budget, and aligned with the firm’s design vision.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate design review and collaborate with the internal architecture team during design and construction phases

• Manage consultants including civil, structural, MEP, environmental, survey, and geotechnical teams

• Work closely with general contractors and architects to manage project schedules and milestones

• Prepare internal project updates summarizing schedule, budget, design progress, and key risks

• Visit active construction sites to maintain strong coordination with project teams

• Track project budgets including payment draws, contingencies, and value engineering opportunities

• Coordinate permitting with municipalities and resolve plan discrepancies with project partners

• Manage RFIs, submittals, and change requests between project stakeholders

• Support project closeout including punch lists, turnover coordination, and lease-up preparation

• Collaborate with internal teams on design initiatives including unit layouts, amenities, and FF&E


Qualifications

• 3–7 years of experience in real estate development, architecture, construction, or related project management roles

• Undergraduate degree required; graduate studies in architecture, real estate development, urban planning, or related fields are a plus

• Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

• Ability to collaborate effectively with architects, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders

• Interest in real estate development, urbanism, and sustainable design

Location

Charlotte, NC (in-person with occasional flexibility for remote work)

Compensation
