Position Summary:

The Health & Wellness Director is responsible for providing overall leadership and management of the health and well-being of residents within the community, ensuring regulatory compliance, clinical excellence, and high-quality care delivery.

This role is eligible for a 10% annual performance-based bonus, aligned with individual and community performance goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that community follows all federal, state, local laws and regulations as it pertains to clinical care.
  • Responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting occurrence trends, and if necessary, develop/implement improvement plans.
  • Partners with Administrator and other team members to analyze and maintain all resident and team member health safety.
  • Partners with pharmacy consultant to provide optimal pharmaceutical services to residents.
  • Responsible for clinical expertise of licensed nurses.
  • Assists with educational presentations as assigned by administrator.
  • Identifies ongoing needs and services of residents through the assessment/ Service Plan process including documentation for residents with a change in health care status.
  • Responsible for overseeing the completion of the monthly updates and reporting any pertinent changes to the responsible party.
  • Partners with other department coordinators to identify, review, and discuss potential change in service/medication levels if applicable.
  • Ensures the resident's service plan is updated as indicated by state regulations.
  • Participates in community awareness activities and community relations.
  • Maintains communications with resident's family and/or responsible party regarding changes in care or health concerns.
  • Informs the Business Office of fee changes related to care needs, if applicable.
  • Schedules clinical staff on a monthly basis.
  • Ensures adequate clinical supplies are available.
  • Participates in a rotating on-call schedule.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Provides supervision to LPNs and Certified Nursing Assistants and others as assigned to assure delivery of consistently high quality care to residents. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

This role supports the investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and resolution of third-party construction defect claims, including property damage and liability exposures, while delivering consistent, high-quality claims management in alignment with industry best practices.

About the Role


Construction Defect Claims Adjusters are responsible for managing complex third-party claims related to construction projects from inception through closure. Claims may include third-party property damage, bodily injury, and other specialized construction-related exposures of varying complexity and severity. In this role, you will investigate losses, analyze policy language, evaluate damages, determine coverage, negotiate settlements, and handle litigated matters as needed while maintaining clear, professional communication with all involved parties.


Adjusters routinely conduct site inspections, gather statements from claimants, witnesses, and contractors, coordinate with external experts, and ensure all claim activity complies with state-specific regulations and Network Adjusters’ Best Claims Practices. This is a desk-based role.


Responsibilities


  • Apply in-depth knowledge of General Liability and Construction Defect claims to manage complex third-party property damage, bodily injury, and related losses
  • Deliver high-quality customer service to insureds, claimants, carrier clients, and internal stakeholders
  • Review and analyze coverage by applying policy conditions, provisions, exclusions, and endorsements, and address jurisdictional considerations such as negligence laws, immunity, and financial responsibility limits
  • Investigate claims to determine liability and potential sources of recovery by contacting, interviewing, and coordinating with appropriate parties and external experts
  • Effectively manage litigated claims, including coordination with defense and coverage counsel
  • Establish, document, and maintain appropriate claim and expense reserves in a timely manner
  • Develop and execute plans of action for claim resolution, including diary management and timely follow-up
  • Determine settlement values using independent judgment, applicable limits, and deductibles, and negotiate settlements within assigned authority
  • Draft denial letters, reservation of rights, tenders, and other routine or complex claim correspondence
  • Identify and pursue subrogation opportunities when applicable
  • Prepare client-specific reports and detailed claim analyses, and consult with senior technical staff to ensure proper file handling
  • Document all claim activity in accordance with established procedures and Best Practices
  • Ensure compliance with all state-specific regulatory requirements and quality standards
  • Manage multiple competing priorities to ensure timely payments, follow-up, and claim resolution


Qualifications


  • 2–5 years of claims handling experience, preferably in third-party General Liability and/or Construction Defect
  • College or technical degree, or equivalent relevant business experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required adjuster licenses, including completion of continuing education
  • Strong analytical, investigative, decision-making, and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage conflict effectively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a customer-focused and empathetic approach
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, confidentiality, and sound judgment
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and standard business software
  • Bilingual proficiency preferred but not required

  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of loan documents including loan agreements, mortgages/deeds of trust, guaranties, intercreditor agreements, and participation agreements

  • Review and process loan modification requests, extensions, and amendments in coordination with legal counsel

Required Qualifications

  • 5-8 years of experience in commercial real estate credit, debt asset management, or loan servicing
  • Bachelor’s degree in real estate, Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Background at a debt fund, credit REIT, or private credit platform is preferred

Position Purpose:

Responsible for defining, implementing, and managing internal claims programs (self-administration) to control quality and costs associated with general liability claims (e.g. customer bodily injury and property damage). This position ensures the company’s claims are handled internally in compliance with industry best practices and company policies, without reliance on a third-party administrator.


Key Responsibilities:

  • 25% Claims Handling Standards - Develops and enforces claims handling standards and best practices and oversees quality assurance programs (e.g. file reviews and audits) to ensure adherence to those standards. Drives continuous improvement in claims processes and outcomes under the self-administration model.
  • 30% Claims Operations Management - Leads the day-to-day operations of a multi-line general liability claims unit, ensuring consistent application of departmental standards, policies, and procedures. Oversees claim intake, investigation, and resolution processes to maintain efficiency and compliance with service and quality benchmarks. Drives cost containment initiatives, including management of allocated expenses on claims. Monitors loss costs and implement strategies to reduce average claim costs while maintaining fairness and compliance (such as early resolution programs, subrogation efforts, etc.).
  • 10% Settlement Authority Oversight - Assumes oversight for all claim settlements and reserve decisions within designated authority levels – reviewing and approving settlements in accordance with company guidelines. Reviews written settlement evaluations and escalates to the appropriate approval level in the organization when required.
  • 10% Stakeholder Communication - Establishes clear interface guidelines and communication channels among all parties involved in claims, including the internal claims team (examiners/adjusters), store management, associates, and the Legal department. Regularly communicates claim status and trends to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • 25% Team Leadership - Manages and develops the in-house claims staff. Responsible for the selection, training, performance appraisal, and professional development of direct reports. Fosters a high-performance team culture and provides coaching and guidance to ensure adjusters meet regulatory requirements and company performance standards.

Travel Requirements:

  • Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.


Physical Requirements:

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions, there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area; any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
  • Demonstrated supervisory and team management experience in the insurance claims field, with ability to mentor adjusters and implement efficient claims handling processes. Strong leadership abilities evidenced by building effective teams and improving workflow.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of casualty claims best practices, legal compliance (fair claims practices, state regulations), and claims quality control techniques (e.g. file audit and review programs). Capable of establishing and upholding rigorous standards for internal claims operation.
  • Analytical & Communication Skills: Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills to evaluate claim information and make sound decisions quickly. Effective negotiation and communication skills, enabling successful settlement negotiations and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders (customers, attorneys, insurers).
  • Bachelor’s degree in risk management, Insurance, Business, or related field preferred (or equivalent industry experience).
  • Professional development in insurance claims or risk management (e.g. industry certifications) is a plus.

The Opportunity

We are looking to hire a Sr. Field Auto Appraiser supporting the Boston Metro South, MA area.

As a dedicated Sr. Auto Appraiser, you will within defined guidelines and framework responsible for the investigation, negotiation, evaluation and appraisal of vehicle damage claims for both repairable and total loss vehicles to ensure estimate accuracy in compliance with state laws and regulations. Accountable for delivering exceptional member service through setting appropriate expectations, proactive communications, advice, and empathy.

What you'll do:

  • With the use of digital tools, evaluates and appraises highly complex auto physical damage claims in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract, corporate guidelines and state laws and regulations.
  • Investigate claim damages including communicating with the insured, internal claims adjusters, and third parties/vendors. May require face-to-face interactions with members and third parties.
  • Review facts of loss and vehicle damage to determine if subrogation opportunities exist and ensures all supporting physical damage documentation is in the claim.
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of P&C insurance industry products, services, contracts, and internal processes/systems/procedures to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and policy provisions.
  • Review claims/suppliers for fraud indicators and refers to Special Investigations Unit for handling, if applicable.
  • Maintain accurate and current claim file documentation throughout the claims process for complex claims.
  • Maintain high standards of productivity through effective desk management, timely follow ups, and accurate mapping of repair plan and timeline for repair in support of fast and accurate claims adjudication.
  • Responsible for reviewing additional damages received from repair facilities to either complete a supplement or triage to field provider method of inspection.
  • May serve as a subject matter expert representative for disputed claims or trials. Serves as a resource to team members on escalated issues of a routine nature.
  • Partner with vendors and internal business partners to facilitate highest complexity claims resolution. May also involve external regulatory coordination to ensure appropriate documentation and compliance.
  • Proactively provide policyholders with information regarding their coverage, repair estimate or total loss valuation, and claims/repair process while setting appropriate expectations.
  • Support workload surges and catastrophe (CAT) response operations as needed, including mandatory on-call dates and potential evening, weekend, and/or holiday work outside normal work hours.
  • May be assigned CAT deployment travel with minimal notice during designated CATs.
  • Work various types of claims, including ones of higher complexity, and may be assigned additional work outside normal duties as needed.
  • Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.
  • 2 years of auto appraising experience.
  • Proficient knowledge of P&C insurance policy contracts and coverages, auto parts distribution process and claim appraisal process and procedures.
  • Advanced working knowledge of estimating losses using CCC or similar estimating platforms.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal skills to communicate with members, claimants, repair facilities, and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Acquisition and maintenance of insurance adjuster license within 90 days and 3 attempts.

  • May require the ability to operate a company vehicle within assigned territory.

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $63,590 - $121,530.
