This responsibility includes completing scans effectively and efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of patient care possible in order to provide the most remarkable patient experience.
Complete scans effectively and efficiently: Collect pertinent data about the patient and the procedure Select the most appropriate, cost-effective action plan after reviewing all pertinent data and assessing the patient's abilities and condition Screen the patient for ferrous and RF-sensitive material before the patient enters the magnetic field Position and prepare patients for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures Select appropriate immobilization devices Review the patient's chart and the physician's request to determine optimal scanning parameters for the suspected pathology Prepare and administer contrast agents in accordance with state and federal regulations Enter necessary patient information to initiate the scan(s) Assess and monitor the patient's physical and mental status throughout the procedure Review images to determine if additional scans will enhance the diagnostic value of the procedure Document diagnostic, treatment and patient data in the appropriate record.

CT Tech FT Rotating Position Summary Performs computerized tomographic procedures for the diagnosis of disease and injury according to protocols established by radiologists.

* Responsible for patient safety including pre-screening for contraindications, aseptic injection technique, etc., and radiation safety/regulations, including proper documentation and technique when working with radioactive materials/patients.

* Trouble-shoot the scanner and peripheral equipment (including monitors, PACS, etc.).
