Who We Are:
North Alabama Shoals Hospital is a 198-bed general acute care facility boasting spacious, private rooms for all patients, a 24-hour emergency department, medical and oncology services; medical/surgical inpatient units; and short-stay surgery units. Shoals also operates the region's only in-patient acute rehabilitation facility, the J. W. Sommer Rehabilitation Unit, and the Shoals Senior Care Center, the Shoals' only psychiatric unit dedicated to our senior adults.

Position Summary:
The Program Director of Behavioral Health oversees strategic planning, operations, and policy enforcement to ensure high-quality, cost-effective behavioral health services. They manage budgeting, supervise staff, and guide both short- and long-term program development to maintain financial and clinical excellence.

• Manages all aspects of behavioral health unit operations, including staffing, care delivery, and facility maintenance.
• Participates in strategic planning, budgeting, and marketing efforts to support program growth.
• Ensures compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and accreditation requirements.
• Acts as a liaison between hospital leadership, divisional teams, and unit staff to maintain collaboration.

• Leads change initiatives, evaluates leadership performance, and promotes a positive work environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required. Master's degree in nursing; preferred.
• Qualified by education and experience in the care of behavioral health patients.
• Licensure in State of Practice if applicable.
• Licensed Master's level clinician required
• Marriage and Family Therapy, Professional Counseling preferred.

CMA Job Summary/Purpose: Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Certified Medical Assistant performs multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized patient-centered approach to patient care and achieve desired outcomes.

CMA Minimum Training and Education: High school diploma or equivalent.  Completion of an accredited medical assisting program with one year of patient care experience preferred.  Basic computer skills required.  Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.  Annual competencies are required to be maintained.  Possess ability to understand and implement a variety of detailed instructions in the execution of therapeutic procedures and ability to make accurate physical observation of patients.   Failure to abide by MUHA policies are subject to disciplinary action, including termination. LPN Job Summary: Provides patient/family centered care, acting as partner and adviser, assists and supports patients and families to optimally manage their health care, respecting their culture and values, individual needs, health goals and treatment preferences. Applies critical reasoning and astute clinical judgment in order to expedite appropriate care and treatment, especially given that the patient may be present with complex problems or potentially life threatening conditions. Uses critical thinking in clinical problem-solving relative to the scope of practice, knowledge, competency, and experience. Assists medical staff with preparation, examination, and procedure to include interviewing/screening patients to obtain personal data and chief complaint, documentation for records, and vital signs. Performs telephone and in-person screenings. Participates in recording and reporting responsibilities; documents findings relevant to patients health care status or plan of care, documents accurately and consistently in accordance with approved policies/procedures. The Opportunity

As a dedicated auto adjuster, within defined guidelines and framework, you are responsible to adjust moderately complex auto insurance claims presented by or against our members to include the end-to-end claims process and settling claims in compliance with state laws and regulations. You are accountable for delivering best in class service, through setting appropriate expectations, proactive communications, advice, and empathy.

This hybrid role requires an individual to be in the office 3 days per week, after completing 6 months in office. This position can be based in the following location: Chesapeake, VA. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

What you'll do:

• Investigates liability and applies appropriate coverage, evaluates, negotiates, and settles moderately complex auto claims.

• Negotiates liability for comparative negligence (claimant or adverse carrier).

• Identifies coverage concerns, reviews prior loss history, determines, and creates Special Investigation Unit (SIU) referrals, when appropriate.

• Interacts with multiple parties to gather information needed to determine liability (police reports, recorded statements, witness statements).

• Resolves claims through proactive problem solving and decision making, within authority guidelines and under moderate supervision, overcoming obstacles, and effectively prioritizing the workload.

• Clearly documents thought process including damage evaluation, investigation, negotiation, and settlement decisions

• Collaborates and sets expectations with external and internal business partners to facilitate claims resolution.

• Supports members, business partners, and claimants, through use of varying communication channels to include utilization of digital tools to drive timely and effective resolutions through exceptional service.

• Applies developing knowledge of P&C insurance industry products, services, to include P&C insurance policy contracts, coverages and internal claims handling process and procedures.

• Applies intermediate knowledge of Auto Physical Damage to adjust claims.

• Supports workload surges and catastrophe (CAT) response operations as needed, including mandatory on-call dates and potential evening, weekend, and/or holiday work outside normal work hours.

• May be assigned CAT deployment travel with minimal notice during designated CATs.

• Works various types of claims, including ones of higher complexity, and may be assigned additional work outside normal duties as needed.

• Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

• High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.

• 1 year of customer service experience.

• Progressive experience handling low complexity auto non injury liability claims.

• Acquisition and maintenance of insurance adjuster license within 90 days and 3 attempts.

• Developing knowledge and understanding of auto claims contracts as well as application of case law and state laws and regulations.

• Demonstrated negotiation, investigation, communication, and conflict resolution skills.

• Proficient in prioritizing and multi-tasking, including navigating through multiple business applications.

• Successful completion of a job-related assessment may be required.

What sets you apart:

• One or more years of auto liability claims experience managing claims from initial contact through resolution

• Minimum one year of experience managing a pending inventory with demonstrated organization and prioritization skills

• At least two years of customer service experience, demonstrating strong communication and problem-solving skills

• Proven experience with comparative negligence and shared liability determinations

• Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to interpret policy language, assess coverages, and make sound decisions

• Proficiency with Guidewire or similar claims management systems

• Bachelor’s degree or industry designation (e.g., AIC, CPCU)

• Military experience through service or as a military spouse

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $51,370 - $92,060.
