Located in our beautiful Woodridge, IL facility and reporting to the General Manager, the local 130 Service Plumber will provide routine and emergency commercial services to our customer base.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine and emergency service in industrial/commercial and residential locations.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities as a Journeyman Service Plumber including paperwork, documentation, customer relations, communication, repair and PM schedules.
• Demonstrate an understanding and adherence to all work safety policies, procedures and governing requirements.
• Ability to work unsupervised or with limited supervision as a Service Plumber.
• Must have valid driver's license and a safe driving record and be able to work in the Chicagoland and NW Indiana corridor.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills, detail oriented and highly motivated.
• Availability to be perform on-call duty rotation nights and/or weekends as required.
• Basic computer skills (electronic documentation via I-pad and I-phone).

Qualifications:

• Current State of Illinois or City of Chicago Plumbing License.
• Member of Local 130 with service experience.
• 10 Hour OSHA Training (30 Hour OSHA Training a plus).
• RPZ Certification a plus.
• Clean driving record.

Principal Duties/Responsibilities:

* Performs competent break-fix & preventative maintenance. This includes but is not limited to: observing devises in operation to determine root cause of problem; dismantling devices to gain access to and remove defective parts; adjustment of functional parts of devices and control instruments; repair and/or replacement of defective parts; and performing troubleshooting and repair of electrical circuitry and mechanical systems.

* Identifies parts, supplies and repair items as necessary for equipment maintenance and repair.

* With minimal instruction, performs maintenance as per industry standards.

* Works with customer counterparts to execute maintenance, reliability, and preventative maintenance procedures.

* May be required to setup and operate multiple machining operations including but not limited to: lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. May perform welding tasks.

* Conforms and complies with customer contractor codes of conduct, housekeeping standards, and safety processes

* Documents work performed in service reports, and applicable management systems.

* Performs routine processes with and within industrial control systems to troubleshoots and analyzes complex equipment, perform equipment maintenance, and to resolve equipment problems.

* Utilizes in-depth application of electrical, mechanical, and fluid power aptitude to troubleshoot and repair equipment.

* Completes and conducts on-the-job training and technical self-study programs for career development.

* Follows all safety related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions and guidelines. Situational awareness and identify unsafe behaviors and conditions.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSAs), & Competencies:

Essential KSAs:

* High School Graduate or equivalent (GED).

* Associates degree with a Technical focus and 5 years of related experience in specific industry; or, 7 years of experience in specific industry.

* Possesses working knowledge and experience regarding electrical, mechanical, and fluid power systems in related fields. Can analyze the problems, synthesize alternative solutions, and perform repairs

* Travel required. (Daily).

Position Summary

5F is seeking a highly motivated, organized HVAC Service Technician for our service department. Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair tasks for all types of chiller systems, air and water cooled, for both commercial and industrial.
• Positively respond to heavy workload of service calls in a professional manner.
• Ensures customers’ questions/concerns have been addressed before leaving the work site.
• Repair, troubleshoot and maintain packaged and split systems.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose and repairs various makes and models of equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repair of industrial and commercial HVAC equipment primarily chillers but could include split systems, packaged rooftop units, cooling towers and pumps, as needed.
• Demonstrate ability to determine priorities based on call schedule, respond to inadvertent interruptions, carry proper tools and materials, and schedule vehicle maintenance.
• Knowledge of methods, tools, and equipment used in the repair of air and water cooled, heating and air condition equipment in commercial and industrial buildings.

• Keep supervisor and manager informed of new developments, changes, or customer complaints.
• Perform daily work duties associated with the trade with little to no supervision in the field.
• Participate in on call rotation, volunteer to take on new challenges and work assignments.

• Split System & Package unit understanding and ability to repair up to 25tons (Ability to trouble shoot & repair larger equipment a bonus)
• Trouble shooting knowledge.
• Ability to complete Preventive maintenance & equipment inspections.
• Ability to read and understand wiring schematics.
• Self-motivated & ability to work alone.
• Ability to complete field invoices and communicate w/ customers.
• EPA Universal certified.
• Good driving record required.
• On call required.
