The hardware focus is on high reliability safety critical mechanisms and structures, with significant cross-functional development with the Systems, Avionics, GNC, Software, Manufacturing, and Flight Test teams. The position will be located at our facility in Mountain View, California, reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities

You will design, analyze, build, test, and fly a system of actuators, mechanisms, and structural modifications to enable remote piloted aircraft. Own your hardware from initial conception through flight test and certification...this is cradle-to-grave engineering with hands-on build, test, and integration. Lead cross-functional trades and drive performance and design decisions to closure. You will bring a sense of humility, and be ready to both learn and teach.

Basic Success Criteria

• BS in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or equivalent experience

• 5+ years professional experience developing mechanical systems

• Mastery of at least one of the following areas: Design, Analysis, Manufacturing, Test, or Certification

• Demonstrated successful project ownership

Preferred Criteria

• Demonstrated understanding of structural analysis and failure modes of mechanical systems

This is an onsite role with regular support required in a production missile integration facility.

This position requires strong communication skills to collaborate across Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Quality.  Experience with hardware integration and test, supplier first article inspections, production work instructions and failure investigation principals are strongly desired.

Candidate will work closely with Integrated Product Team Leads/Program Managers to ensure that engineering requirements are defined, risks are managed, and schedules/budgets are met. The RF Microelectronics/Module Design & Foundry Services Department at Raytheon in Andover, MA, is currently seeking a Principal Electro-Mechanical Engineer to develop leading-edge miniaturized 3DHI sensors and systems to enable future generation technologies across Raytheon.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated “self-starter” who will apply strong mechanical and electrical engineering skills to implement innovative solutions to challenging design criteria. They will be involved in research efforts including initial concepts, advanced technology demonstrations, and will have the opportunity to follow product development from beginning to end, including documentation, fabrication, assembly, and test/delivery of a range of microelectronics products. This position requires strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to maintain positive relationships & satisfaction with Program leadership (Engineering and Program Management). Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and materials and prior experience working with contract manufacturers (OSATs) is highly desired.

The role requires knowledge of high-density microelectronic packaging designs including Interposers, organic substrates, wafer and chip bumping and general knowledge in areas of electronic components/devices such as ASICs and FPGAs, design of electronic packaging chassis and structures, interconnects (connectors/cables), and thermal management design of high-density electronic systems and electronic enclosures. Overview

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, and construction of auxiliary mechanical systems within a highly regulated engineering environment. This role will act as a key liaison between the design and construction teams, ensuring system designs are properly executed during procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases. The engineer will collaborate with internal stakeholders, vendors, and construction teams to ensure systems are delivered on time, on budget, and in compliance with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

What We Look For

• 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering design, HVAC/DX/VRF/CHW applications, central plant development and operational guidance, hydraulics, hydronics, compressed air, overall kitchen designs and implementation.
