Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

Assembles mechanical units or fabricated parts of various size and complexity using hand tools, jigs, and fixtures, as well as light power tools and equipment. Follows oral instructions, drawings, bills of material, and written procedures.
- Fits, aligns, adjusts, and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and operating requirements.

The Outside Machinists are responsible for all mechanical work performed at Electric Boat.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Performing layout work to support machining, assembly and installation of components into modules that will eventually become working parts of a nuclear submarine
- Taking measurements with basic measuring tools and precision measuring equipment such as inside, outside and depth micrometers, dial calipers, vernier calipers and indicators
- Utilization of standard hand tools such as, combination wrenches, torque wrenches, screw drivers, pliers etc...
- Utilization of various portable and fixed machinery such as bench grinders, hand held grinders, drill presses, hand held drills, magnetic base drills, hydraulic drills, portable boring equipment, milling machines and lathes
- Work is performed utilizing technical work documents, blueprints, specification manuals and written or oral instruction
- Installation and or machining tasks generally take place within a module or on hull. Working inside tanks or confined spaces should be expected. Bench type assignments are generally rare and temporary

Fleet Maintenance Supervisor

Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician
The Electro-Mechanic Technician performs project management duties, maintenance and repairs of all pneumatic machines and line equipment.
Shift & Schedule: This is a full time position on our 2nd shift working 1:30pm to 10:00pm. Monday-Friday.Flexibility to work overtime, weekends and holidays as scheduled is required.
Position Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, plan, & perform all operations necessary to install, modify, troubleshoot, repair, overhaul, rebuild, & dismantle various types of complex manufacturing & support equipment with special focus on advanced troubleshooting on control systems, servo drives, motors, HMIs, & PLCs on complex high speed packaging lines
- Perform preventive maintenance & other proactive activities to monitor & maintain equipment condition
- Troubleshoot and repair of Pneumatic Control Systems, Allen Bradley PLC Systems, RSLinx, Process Control Instrumentation, 3 phase (480V) Circuits, Motor starters and controls

Job Overview:
The Maintenance Mechanic III is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining machinery and mechanical / electrical equipment such as motors, conveyor systems, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, production machines, boilers, pumps, liquid fillers, packaging equipment, material handling equipment, bulk delivery equipment, and blending/mixing systems. This position will primarily focus on the electrical side of maintenance.
Shift & Schedule: This is a full-time position is on 2nd shift working 2:00PM to 10:30PM, Monday-Friday. Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays is required as scheduled.
Position Responsibilities
- Analyze mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic or electrical problems and make repairs through adjustments, defective parts replacement, or fabrication.
- Wire moderately complex control circuits.
- Fabricate, repair, and install hangers and all types of piping including hot/cold water, steam, process and condensate, utilizing formulas for all phases.
- Weld various types of metals.
- Machine most metals, plastics, and composites.
- Fabricate or replicate minor pieces for the repair or replacement of parts on equipment.
- Complete size changeovers, make adjustments, and trouble shoot liquid fillers and packaging equipment.
- Identify problems and completes repairs, with minimal downtime or supervision.
- Troubleshoot and program minor changes in Allen Bradley PLC (SLC500, MicroLogix, CompactLogix and ControlLogix.
- Troubleshoot 3ph 480v motors and VFDs including replacementand / orprogramming
Total Rewards:
- Compensation: Pay starting at $42.62 per hour. The employee will move to a higher rate of $44.86 per hour in the quarter after their 6 month anniversary.

Requirements:
- 3 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- 3 years of experience troubleshooting 3 phase (480V) Circuits, Motor starters and controls and electronic circuit boards
- Lift, push, and pull 50 pounds repeatedly, walking and standing for long period of time
