Title: Administrative Law Judge
Location: Phoenix, AZ 85007 or Tucson, AZ(remote)
Duration: 02-03-month contract to hire
Job Responsibilities:
- Required to have juris doctorate from accredited law school – AJD degree but do not need to be licensed from the BAR
- Full time – 40 hours week
- Holds administrative hearing – throughout workday and writing decisions
- Looking at documents for those hearings and ahead of next days and then crafting decisions incorporating the appropriate federal regulations, state law, etc.

The Family Law Staff Attorney will provide legal consultations and legal representation to family law litigants with a focus on assisting survivors of domestic violence before the San Francisco Unified Family Court. In addition to family law litigation, Attorney will provide trauma-informed representation in Domestic Violence Restraining Order matters.
- Provide family law legal consultations and full-scope legal representation to family law litigants and survivors of domestic violence.
- Staff legal clinics providing brief services at San Francisco community organizations.
- Collaborate closely with JDC supervising attorney and other project staff attorneys to ensure excellent legal advocacy.
- Ability to Multi-task in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining professionalism and peace of mind.
- Exceptional litigation, writing and legal research skills with attention to detail and case strategy.
- Work closely with JDC staff on on-going reassessment and adjustment of grant-funded project design and delivery of services.
- Co-ordinate with grant partners to draft and submit quarterly and biannual reports.
- Contribute to our collaborative team by working from the San Francisco office a minimum of 2 days per week in addition to remote work, and appearances at the San Francisco Superior Court.
Education:
Must be member of the California State Bar in good standing.
Experience:
- Excellent oral, written, and client service skills
- Experience working with survivors of trauma and/or low-income communities preferred
- Able to effectively and professionally interact with low-income clients, judges and court staff, co-workers, and staff at other nonprofits
- Able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced team-oriented environment
- Knowledge of MS Office(Outlook, Word, Excel)
