Position Objective: Responsible for engineering documentation including blueprint reading and GD&T tolerances. Develop, optimize and maintain machine processes in a fast-paced production shop. Responsibilities include CAD design, CNC programming, creation of tool list, setup and part finishing documents. CNC equipment includes but is not limited to CNC turning centers with live tooling, CNC mills/lathes, lasers, CNC turret punches, and other computer operated equipment.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Work from customer's drawings and solid models to create, optimize and maintain CNC programs primarily for processing turned parts
- Must have a working knowledge of GD&T, fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry. Ability to transition between SI and metric units. Proper use of various measuring tools including Vernier calipers, micrometers, tread gages, etc.
- Create manufacturing processes and programming in a timely manner to support production schedules and customer delivery dates.
- Working knowledge of G code, M code, tool selection, steel grade metallurgy, tool geometry and coatings
- Assist on tooling design and development strategy within the programming team.
- Initiate and participate in projects to implement cost reduction strategies related to CNC programming optimization, tool life management, and/or quality improvement.
- Initiate Engineering Change Requests as required to ensure issues with CNC programs and related documentation are properly addressed and documented.
- Assist in the quoting process by providing setup and run time estimates for turned parts as well as material requirements, process steps and tooling requirements.
- Ensure changeover documentation for all CNC processes are current, accurate and standardized throughout the company.
- Ensure production and shipping schedules are met.
- Perform all other tasks or responsibilities as delegated by the Plant Manager/Site Leader.
Experience/Skills:
- Previous experience working with CNC equipment in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum 4 years programming Horizontal lathes and Vertical Turning Lathes required
- Minimum 1 years working CAD software (AutoCAD) Required
- Minimum 4 years working with Master Cam preferred
- Knowledge of Unigraphs software is a plus

Principal Duties
Site Leadership
The Quality Assurance Supervisor serves as the primary Quality contact at the Vermont site, working closely with cross-functional teams, while reporting to the Quality Assurance Director at Hayward Tyler, Inc. in Vermont. This position oversees all QA activity at the Vermont facility, and ensures compliance with company quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. Keep management informed of the status of QA issues impacting production, personnel, and product deployment.
Quality Activities
This position leads the Quality department at Hayward Tyler and is responsible for all Quality activities. Quality functions break down into three main areas:
• Quality Assurance
Works with the QA Director to develop and maintain the Quality Program, including the Quality Manual, Policies, Procedures, and Processes to adhere to the requirements of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, and US Law. Ensures that quality requirements for contracts are properly converted to internal actionable items, and that the ASL and vendor qualifications are audited to meet our stringent requirements. Responsible for maintaining the qualification and certification of inspectors, internal/external auditors, nondestructive examiners and welders.
• Quality Control
Responsible for the review, the control, and to assure the product and the processes for quality are followed in accordance with our program. This includes contract and supplier purchase order review, material control, calibration, product inspection, destructive and non-destructive testing, and ASME B&PV Code activities.
• Quality Improvement
Responsible for working with the QAD to drive down the cost of quality from both internally and externally manufactured products and services. Major focus is internally generated errors and warranty costs. Responsible for driving a “right the first time” culture.
The Quality Assurance Supervisor also participates in the efforts to recruit, train, review, and mentor the Quality staff. They also may represent Hayward Tyler and its commitment to Nuclear Quality on ASME Committees, NIAC and other nuclear industry organizations and events.
Minimum Qualifications:
• AS in Engineering or equivalent job experience (2 plus years in technical position)
• Work experience in a Quality Assurance role in the commercial nuclear industry preferred.
• Commercial Nuclear audit experience required with Lead Auditor qualification preferred.
• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, or Auditor is a plus.
• Fundamental understanding of the audit process including types of audits, planning, preparation, execution, reporting results and follow-up.
• Capability to learn and develop NDE experience from the organization.
• ASME B&PV Code experience in Section III and/or Section VIII preferred.

- The Project Manager is responsible for completion of projects from the quotation process through execution.
- The Project Manager’s primary role is integrating multiple departments and organizations to achieve project objective.
- Builds effective working relationships with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction.
- This includes Planning, coordinates, and implements moderately complex projects; monitoring of pricing and materials, acting as a liaison for the shop/management/customer and ensuring deadlines and specifications of projects are met.

- Accountable to senior management for project commercial, technical, and schedule performance. Prepares and submits weekly financial reports along with key accounting data.
- Involved in development of project proposal, budget, and execution strategy and reviews / modifies / produces written proposals for/with accuracy, change order proposals, and adherence to such strategies. Works closely with the Sales department and serves as a technical expert in the design and engineering process
- Interfaces with both external and internal customers and vendors on technical and commercial issues.
- Manages project team focus in achieving common goals; Communicate project scope, requirements, and technical concerns directly with Process, Engineers, Project Managers, Drafters/Designers and other functional groups.
- Recommends and takes action to direct the analysis and solution of problems (both technical and commercial).
- Resolve conflicts regarding process and mechanical design; provide sound design solutions. Interact with others in a professional manner, promoting cooperation and teamwork.
- Work with other members of the organization to assist in the design and development of equipment required to meet customers’ needs or market demands.
- Acts as a mentor to less experienced project managers & project engineers.
- Any other reasonable request deemed necessary by management. Handles special projects, as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- PMP Certificate (Preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years’ progressive experience in water filtration systems, oilfield surface product manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial construction environments, with a proven track record of successful project management.
- Production Equipment operation: 5 years (Preferred)
- Manager/Supervisory Experience of teams with 3+ members
- Project Management: 3-10 years (Preferred)

Required Skills or Tools:
- Ability to effectively communicate and able to Read and Interpret Engineering Drawings (Process Flow Diagrams, General Arrangement, P&ID, Pressure Vessel, Piping, etc.)
- Experience working for a Private Equity (PE) backed company.
- Familiarity with Industry Codes and Standards; (ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 Pressure Vessels, ASME B31.3 Piping, AWS, API, ASTM, NACE, OSHA, etc.)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Set-up and operate Horizontal and Vertical CNC Lathes with Fanuc controls according to engineering specifications, instructions, GD&T and operation sheets. Knowledge of manual machines is a plus.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures and tool holders for a given job.
- Run similar jobs of short cycle times for extended periods of time where manufacturing processes are stable and do not require frequent change.
- Read and interpret engineering instructions, travelers, and blueprints and be familiar with geometric tolerances and principles.
- Operate more than one machine at a time, one to two machines depending on the nature of the job and its complexity, occasionally operating more than two machines depending on operator skill and familiarity with a given job.
- Must perform routine maintenance on assigned production equipment, i.e., maintain cleanliness of work area and machinery, check machinery fluids and alert maintenance personnel and/or supervisor of malfunctions.
Operate lifting and handling equipment such as hand truck, pallet jack, or overhead hoist to maneuver in-process or finished components to desired location.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Knowledgeable of in-process inspection techniques, standards, and requirements. Able to use and interpret precision measuring devices such as micrometers, verniers, and various hand tools, i.e., gauges to verify the accuracy of dimensional characteristics of components.
- Knowledge of metal characteristics in a production setting is desirable.
- Knowledge of programming code, canned cycles, threading & boring jaws and makes program edits.
