Job Summary:
The RN House Supervisor is a registered professional nurse who provides hospital wide leadership to all departments and divisions through the effective use of advance competencies in communication, job knowledge, professionalism and business skills to promote the creation of a center of excellence for staff recruitment and retention, and in clinical and business outcomes.
This leader is a member of the leadership team and is responsible for overseeing activities within the hospital in the absence of hospital president, administrators and department directors.

The RN House Supervisor uses performance improvement methodology, successfully applies Lean Six Sigma principles and evidenced-based practice. Serves as a change agent for implementing best practice.

* Researching and securing necessary resources to support patient care and site safety.

* Partner with other facilities System wide to address operational capacity concerns across WellStar facilities.
* Manage flow and release of deceased patients.
* Efficient utilization of product, supplies, and equipment to ensure timely and safe patient care.
* Respond to hospital-wide Code calls and facilitate adherence to established protocols (at some sites-may be involved in Rapid Response calls).
* Any other duties as assigned.

Overview
BJC Home Care offers patients and their families a complete range of home care services, including skilled nursing services, adult and pediatric hospice and supportive care, rehabilitation therapy, home infusion therapy, infusion treatment rooms, home medical equipment and high-tech respiratory care. Specialty home care programs also are available, including adult and pediatric asthma, cardiac, diabetes, orthopedic and wound care programs.

Evelyn’s House is the newest addition to BJC Hospice and BJCs continuum of care for patients with life-limiting illness. Evelyn’s House staff are sensitive to the physical, psychosocial, emotional and spiritual needs of terminally ill adult and pediatric patients and their families. We provide a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals and volunteers, specially trained in pain and symptom management, counseling, and bereavement services for the dying. BJC Hospice services include alternative therapies such as music, art and massage therapy. BJC Hospice programs provide palliative care by helping patients manage their pain and symptoms while living their lives with daily peace and dignity.

Evaluates the client and furnishes services requiring substantial and specialized skill, appropriate preventive and rehabilitative nursing procedures, and instructions to assist the client in learning appropriate self-care techniques. When assigned as case manager, the staff nurse is responsible for coordinating all aspects of care related to that patient.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including their values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs.
- Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and patient, family or caregiver in accordance with the established guidelines and standards of nursing care. Duties:
- Assure that adequate strategies are in place to verify the current licensure and credentials of nursing employees.
- Aid with scheduling and performing guest rounds to monitor and evaluate the quality and suitability of nursing care.
- Maintain proper charting and documentation of care and of medications and treatments.
- Helps develop and implement the written staffing plan and nursing schedule that reflects the needs of the guest and guest population.
- Participates in the budget process of the facility and helps maintain the nursing supply, equipment and nurse staffing budgets.
- Maintains current knowledge of applicable managed care, Medicare and state Medicaid regulations, reimbursement systems and methodology.
- Aids in assigning responsibilities to associates, taking into consideration guest safety and that duties are commensurate with the educational preparation, experience, knowledge and ability of the persons to whom the duties are assigned.
Qualifications for ADON
- Registered Nurse (RN) with management or supervisor experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing.
- Maintains current CPR certification.

Responsibilities
