What You’ll Do

As an Attorney, you will manage all aspects of active matters in:

• New York & New Jersey Surrogate’s Courts – Probate, Administration, fiduciary support
• Article 81 Guardianship Proceedings – drafting petitions, communicating with parties, Mental Hygiene Court appearances
• Estate Planning – assisting with Trusts, Wills, POAs, Healthcare Proxies
• Medicaid Planning- working with the Team to assist clients in all aspects of Medicaid Planning and Elder Law

Your responsibilities will include:

• Meeting and consulting with clients
• Drafting petitions, motions, and estate-planning documents
• Keeping clients informed and responding to inquiries promptly
• Appearing in court as needed
• Coordinating with the managing attorney on strategy
• Managing deadlines, communications, and files in the firm's CMS
• Performing legal research
• Participating in weekly and monthly case reviews and team meetings

Qualifications:

• Licensed in New York or New Jersey (the other state is a strong plus)
• 5–7 years of experience in:
• Probates
• Estate Planning
• Medicaid Planning

• Litigation experience is a plus
• Experienced in estate planning and/or Surrogate’s Court matters
• Organized, proactive, responsive, and comfortable handling clients directly

Compensation:

• Base pay: $120,000-$130,000 or commensurate with experience
• Temp-to-perm (90-day probationary period)
• Hybrid Work Structure (3 days in-office, 2 remote)

About the Role

The Director of Innovation Programs and Community Engagement leads Better Business Bureau’s efforts to support small business owners through innovative programming, strategic partnerships, and meaningful community engagement.

This Phoenix-based leadership role drives the strategy, growth, and execution of BBB’s portfolio of entrepreneurship programs while activating ignite sparked by BBB, the organization’s meetings, events, and innovation hub. Through partnerships, programming, and community engagement, the Director positions the campus as a destination for connection and business growth while representing BBB across the regional business community through events, speaking engagements, and media opportunities.

This role plays a key part in strengthening the small business community by bringing together entrepreneurs, partners, and organizations through programs, events, and collaborative initiatives that expand opportunity and drive business growth.

The role oversees a portfolio of programs designed to help small business owners grow through education, connections, and resources. These initiatives include accelerators, bootcamps, summits, workshops, and other learning experiences delivered from the Phoenix campus while supporting innovation programming across BBB’s Pacific Southwest region.

We’re looking for a results-focused leader who can hit the ground running and drive results, strengthening existing programs, increasing campus engagement and revenue, and building partnerships that bring more small business owners and organizations into the hub. 

This role is responsible for driving growth, engagement, and revenue for the ignite sparked by BBB campus while expanding BBB’s impact within the regional business community. Success will be reflected in stronger programs, increased campus engagement and utilization, and a growing network of partnerships that expand opportunities for small business owners.

Working closely with the Vice President of Innovation, the Director contributes to the strategic growth and long-term sustainability of BBB’s small business program portfolio through partnerships, sponsorship development, earned revenue opportunities, and grant-supported initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Activate and Grow the ignite sparked by BBB Campus

• Drive revenue generation for the ignite sparked by BBB campus by expanding external events, partnerships, and strategic programming that support the financial sustainability and growth of the hub
• Develop and maintain a dynamic calendar of events, workshops, educational programs, and community convenings that bring the business community into the campus
• Increase engagement and utilization of the campus by cultivating partnerships, programs, and events that consistently attract organizations, leaders, and small business owners
• Lead the planning and execution of workshops, networking events, educational sessions, and community gatherings
• Oversee event logistics including scheduling, vendor coordination, budgeting, and on-site execution

• Ensure operational systems and processes effectively support programming, partnerships, and events
• Identify opportunities to improve space utilization, operational efficiency, and program delivery

Strategic Partnerships, Sponsorship, and Program Sustainability

• Cultivate strategic partnerships and sponsorship relationships that generate funding support for programs, events, and small business initiatives
• Manage program budgets and oversee the implementation and reporting of grant-funded initiatives
• Assist in identifying grant opportunities and contribute to proposals supporting small business initiatives
• Collaborate with leadership on partnership proposals, sponsorship opportunities, and program budgets
• Help ensure programs remain financially sustainable through partnerships, sponsorships, and earned revenue opportunities

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or equivalent experience preferred
• Five or more years of leadership experience in small business programs, economic development, nonprofit leadership, business education, or related fields
• Demonstrated ability to manage program budgets and oversee grant- and sponsor-funded initiatives
• Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
• Leadership experience planning and delivering events, workshops, and community programming
• Established relationships within the Phoenix small business community
• Excellent communication and public speaking skills
• Proven ability to build and sustain strategic partnerships across diverse organizations
• Comfort operating in a public-facing leadership role representing an organization externally
• Strong proficiency with modern productivity platforms, project management tools, and emerging technologies including Google Workspace and AI-enabled tools
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds as part of event setup and campus operations
• Ability to work evenings or weekends based on program and event needs

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing and launching new programs or community initiatives supporting small business owners
• Background as a small business owner or direct experience supporting small businesses
• Experience working with sponsorship-supported or grant-funded programs
• Experience managing innovation hubs, coworking spaces, or event-driven venues
• Background in hospitality, event management, or customer experience environments focused on delivering welcoming, high-quality experiences
• Bilingual or multilingual language capability preferred

Job Description

Job Summary:

Manages a team of chemists/scientists/technicians and executes pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) tape prototype development, scale-up, and product launch in various applications. The group leader will focus on platform technology development, new product development for customer-driven projects, as well as continuous improvement and cost reduction of existing products and processes. Emphasis on acrylic polymer synthesis, silicone and rubber adhesive formulations, PSA rheology, knowledge of tape assemblies, backing material selection, and release liner familiarity. Works with customers and AR teams to collect design input and develop new product design strategies. Technical and laboratory lead in developing new adhesive solutions, robust products, and basic production processes that can be successfully commercialized.

Essential Functions:

• Establishes and directs research programs for new product development and product/process improvement of current products. Responsible for complex basic research and/or product development projects.
• Leads lab personnel and facilitates development of product constructions and processes; designs & conducts chemical experiments on both lab- and production-scale; designs and specifies production scale processes and contributes to product validation.
• Conducts and directs required laboratory work to develop new PSA and tape assemblies including polymerization, formulation, coating and testing. Develops new products that lead to sustainable commercial revenue.
• Completes any necessary regulatory forms. Ensures team follows similar protocols and procedures.
• Implements and executes product development to align with Stage Gate timelines and sets prioritization with the Director of Innovation and Product Management team. Meets technical commitments in order to complete project progression dates and milestones on time.
• Drives patent strategy (reading, planning, and execution) within the team to align with goals established by the Director of Innovation.
• Consults with Director of Innovation, Product Management, Operations, Quality and Sales personnel on group priorities and strategy. Active role in setting overall Innovation direction & strategy. Participates in business planning process with one or more business as appropriate. Establishes program priorities, objectives and responsibilities for group. Ensures effective communication of Innovation program progress for own work and for overall group.
• Functions as a technical lead on product development teams. Leads cross-functional product development teams to ensure effective prototype development, to drive prototypes to commercial products, and to translate findings into impactful business revenue.
• Participates and occasionally leads establishment and implementation of R&D policies and procedures. May be responsible for specified lab areas.
• Interfaces with customers on new product applications and networks externally to assure highest level of competence is maintained.
• Develops skills within the team and evaluates performance of department personnel. Mentors and and coaches associates to effectively work in the department in addition to promoting a collaborative work environment (within the department and cross-functionally). Executes performance reviews annually.
• Makes identifiable and substantial contributions to continuous improvement. Performs all duties consistent with established AR guidelines consistent with ISO-9001 and those elements of GMP deemed necessary to support our business (as outlined in the Quality Manual). Actively complies with and endorses Department and Company objectives.
• Responsible for the proper disposal of hazardous waste into the proper labeled containers and drums.

Job Specifications:

• BS degree (or higher) in chemistry, chemical engineering, polymer science or materials science and/or significant industrial experience. Ph.D. degree preferred but not required.
• Greater than 3 years adhesive formulation, mixing process and coating process experience. Demonstrates detailed knowledge of required chemical and physical test methods for PSA characterization. Requires an aptitude to use sensitive test equipment.
• Basic understanding and familiarity with adhesive chemistries and coating technologies. Familiarity and understanding of various adhesive chemistries (acrylic, silicone, rubber).
• Understanding of adhesive tape constructions (backing materials, release liner selection, adhesive chemistries, etc.)
• Knowledge of PSA rheology, dynamic mechanical analysis, and other physical polymer characterization methods
• Supervisory experience preferred with experience managing a team of scientists in product development, technology platform expansion, and patent filing.
• Demonstrated technology and/or product development capability.
• Expertise required in Stage Gate processes and how to move projects through the pipeline with discipline, efficiency, and accountability
• Excellent program prioritization and coordination skills, ability to manage multiple priorities
• Ability and willingness to work effectively in a diverse, disciplined team environment with limited supervision. Ability to work independently and drive project execution with limited guidance.
