Principal Duties/Responsibilities:

- Completion Bonus: $20,000 (must start by 4/1/26 and complete 13 consecutive weeks and 520 hours)
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, Day Shift (7:00am–3:00pm or 7:00am–5:00pm)
- Shifts per Week / Hours: 4 shifts per week; 36 hours/week (10-hour days; 8-hour shifts available as needed)

- Privileging Timeframe: Approximately 120 days
- Coverage Model: MDs supervise CRNAs; MDs do not perform their own cases (supervision-only)

Requirements / Qualifications
- Education: M.D. or D.O. from an accredited medical school
- Training: Completion of an accredited anesthesia residency
- Board Certification or Fellowship: Required (Board-certified in Anesthesiology)
- Experience: Supervisory experience with CRNAs preferred
- Licensure: Active, unrestricted North Carolina physician license required (candidates must already hold NC license)
- Clinical Skills: Strong perioperative judgment, excellent communication, and timely Epic documentation
- Flexibility: Willingness to float and provide coverage at affiliated facilities as needed
Responsibilities
- Provide supervision-only anesthesiology coverage and clinical oversight for CRNAs across perioperative services and the OR
- Direct and coordinate anesthesia department activities to support safe, efficient OR throughput and patient care
- Perform pre-anesthesia assessments and assist in developing appropriate anesthetic plans for a diverse surgical case mix (general, cardiac, ortho, OB, pediatrics)
- Obtain and/or verify informed consent and discuss anesthetic options and risks with patients as appropriate
- Oversee induction, maintenance, emergence, and physiologic monitoring; intervene when clinically necessary to ensure patient safety
- Document care accurately and promptly in Epic per site policies; adhere to quality, safety and compliance standards
- Collaborate with surgeons, nursing, and perioperative leadership to maintain high-quality patient care and throughput
- Be flexible to float to affiliated facilities (Scott's Hill Outpatient Surgery Center, New Hanover Orthopedic Hospital, Pender Medical Center) as coverage needs arise

We care for a variety of medical patients with diagnoses that include COPD, diabetes, pneumonia, renal failure, minor neurological disorders, behavioral health, as well as many others.
