Responsibilities:

Please note: To be considered for this role, candidates must hold an active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Speech-Language Pathologist endorsement, as well as a current Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) license.
Speech Language Pathologist Key Responsibilities:
- Assessments & Evaluations: Conduct compliant, formalized and dynamic assessments to determine educational eligibility/level of functioning. Complete observations and evaluations and manage annual and triennial reviews. Develop and maintain compliant IEPs and participate in multi-disciplinary teams.
- Treatment Planning: Develop and coordinate treatment plans with interdisciplinary team members to ensure educational benefit.
- Consultation & Instruction: Consult with team members, including families, to maximize generalization of target skill sets. May oversee and support a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA), including monitoring supervision hours and promoting ongoing professional development.
- Data Collection & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of student progress, including therapy notes and assessment data, and use research-based data for monitoring and reporting.
- Time Off Management for Full-Time School Employees: Employees are encouraged to schedule their time off during school breaks. Time off requests will be reviewed and approved by the supervisor to ensure minimal disruption to normal operations.
Speech Language Pathologist Qualifications:
- Licensure: Current Speech Language Pathologist license in the state where services are delivered or eligibility to obtain such licensure.
- Certifications: Department of Education certification (if applicable), and any relevant certifications (e.g., CPR, CPI) as needed.
- Experience: Preferably one year of experience in speech therapy
- Clearances: DOJ/FBI Livescan background check and TB clearance required. Must be eligible to work in the US.
- Skills: Strong organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal abilities; knowledge of evidence-based practices and special education programs preferred.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

The Speech Language Therapist or Clinical Fellow will be responsible for the administration and direct application of Speech-Language pathology treatment modalities as prescribed by a referring physician. If a Clinical Fellow, they will be supervised by an onsite Speech Language Pathologist as per protocol until they obtain their SLP license following the completion of the Clinical Fellowship. * Participates in regularly scheduled case conferences to coordinate care. Provides in-services when indicated.
* Complete and submit all documentation within the required timeline.
* Maintains all required licenses and certifications to practice in California.
* Identifies patient and family/caregiver needs for other services and refers as appropriate.
* Instructs patient, family/caregiver and other Organization health care personnel in the patient's treatment plan.
* May supervise home health aide in procedures directly related to the speech-language therapy plan of care.
* Performs other duties, as required, to facilitate the delivery of speech-language pathology services.

*Possesses a master's or doctoral degree in speech-language pathology (SLP), and who meets either of the following requirements:*
* Is licensed as a speech-language pathologist in the state of California; or
* *Be in the process of obtaining a license in the state of California (license would have to be issued prior to beginning patient care):*
* A minimum of one (1) year's clinical experience in Speech-Language Pathology is preferred; however, those in the process of completing their RPE/CFY are welcome to apply.
* Demonstrates good verbal and written communication, and organizational skills.
* Possesses and maintains current CPR certification.
Licensed driver with automobile that is in good working order and insured in accordance with the organization's requirements.
