- Reinforce positive behaviors and use evidence-based interventions to decrease problematic behaviors, under the supervision of a BCBA.

Weβre partnering with a school district in Providence County, RI to hire a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to support a kindergarten student during daily transportation.
This role involves riding the school bus with the student each morning and afternoon to ensure safety and provide nursing support for a child recently diagnosed with epilepsy who requires access to a rescue medication. The School Nurse (LPN/RN) plays a vital role in monitoring the studentβs health during transit and responding promptly to any medical needs.
Position Details
- Location: In-person, Providence County, RI.
- Schedule: Morning: 8:07 am β 8:45/8:50 am Afternoon: 3:00 pm β 3:43 pm.
- Frequency: Daily, morning and afternoon routes.
Responsibilities
- Ride the school bus with a kindergarten student each morning and afternoon.
- Monitor the studentβs health and safety during transportation.
- Administer rescue medication in accordance with prescribed care plans if needed.
- Observe for seizure activity and respond appropriately.
- Communicate any concerns or incidents to the school team and family
- Document care and incidents as required.
- Qualifications Active Rhode Island LPN or RN License (Required)
- Current CPR Certification (Required)
- Experience working with pediatric patients (preferred)
- Comfort and confidence supporting a student with epilepsy
- Strong communication and documentation skills

Responsibilities:
- Assessment & Evaluation: Identify student needs through cognitive, academic, and behavioral assessments to guide special education services.
- Intervention & Counseling: Provide individual/group counseling and implement strategies to support emotional and social well-being.
- Collaboration & Consultation: Work with educators, families, and teams on IEPs, behavior plans, and creating supportive learning environments.
- Prevention, Crisis Response & Advocacy: Lead mental health initiatives, respond to crises, and advocate for student equity and success.
Qualifications:
- Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) License.
- Masters degree from an accredited institution.
