 About this Position: 

Lead and manage New Model project for new launches in North America through cross-functional coordination and cost roll-up of automotive parts sourced within Global and North American supply base, all which have significant impact on HDMA financial performance. Effectively lead and develop cost targets and strategies to achieve NM Model cost reduction goals for assigned models, monitoring progress and performance against the project, plan versus actual.  Provide clear, concise, and accurate cost and maker layout reports to Purchasing management and New Model Cost in line with project requirements.  Monitor progress and performance against the project, plan versus actual Lead team cost correlation activity with both global and regional design functions. Support project meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the project team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Create, maintain, and manage multiple new models (13-17) project schedules to meet overall schedule milestones and deliverables
  • Represent the Department independently in project team meetings, theme activity, and evaluations; communicating across DEB areas to share ideas and gain consensus on key decisions and milestones
  • Independently summarize Unit activity, conduct periodic reviews with Unit, Department & Division management to confirm new model status.  This includes Supplier and Cost strategy items.
  • Create and manage new model cost targets through cost correlation activity with design, effectively managing performance and implementing countermeasure plans accordingly (annual supplier spend $3.2B/$38M investment).
  • Accurately roll-up cost (piece price and investment) for each NM event, and report cost and project status at New Model Evaluations to Procurement and Design Leadership
  • Report departments project status, clarifying risk and path forward at New Model evaluations (Cost Evaluations, We Are Ready) to Procurement Senior Management
  • Communicate and collaborate across DEB areas of the business to share ideas and reach consensus.  Share project requirements to Department team and suppliers
  • Develop and manage the coordination of cost table activity for use in supplier negotiation
  • Mentor associates within group on problem solving, procedures, and fostering development

Responsibilities


  • Perform numerical modeling in support of coastal processes (Waves, flows, sediment transport, coastal morphology change) in support of coastal engineering projects such as beach dune and marsh restoration, coastal structures, inlet management, coastal resiliency and coastal flooding.
  • Coordinate and establish effective working relationships with team members, project managers, and clients.
  • Conduct numerical modeling studies from start to finish including pre-processing data, creating modeling grids, developing and implement boundary conditions, conducting numerical model calibration, project scenario simulations, post processing results, creation of modeling graphics and videos and preparation of final deliverables including technical report and power point presentations.
  • Participate in project decisions regarding numerical modeling scope and scheduling.
  • Prepare various project documents including reports, technical memorandums and technical papers to be published in specialized journals.


Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s and master’s degree in Coastal Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Oceanography or related fields.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience with numerical modeling of coastal and estuarine systems, including coastal hydrodynamics, sediment transport, and morphology change, utilizing Delft3D and XBeach modelling suites.
  • Experience with Matlab programming, specifically development of pre- and post-processing scripts for Delft3D applications.
  • Experience with wave and tide schematization for long-term morphology change simulations of beaches and inlets.
  • Willingness and availability to travel to other offices and client sites on occasion.
  • Strong background in coastal processes.
  • Proficient English communication skills (oral and written).

A retail energy provider (REP) in Houston is seeking a Load Forecasting Modeler to support its large and complex Commercial and Industrial (C&I) customers in the Northeast power markets. This position is responsible for developing and updating short- and long-term forecasting models using Python, SQL, and Machine Learning, as well as providing variance analysis and reporting of retail electricity components.


Responsibilities include:

  • Data Management/Analysis: Utilize load, weather data, and economic data to incorporate into load forecasting models.
  • Model Development: Build and maintain forecasting models (regression, neural networks, machine learning) to predict demand across different timeframes (short-term, long-term) and trends.
  • Weather Integration: Incorporate weather forecasts (temperature, humidity, cloud cover) to adjust for weather-driven load changes.
  • Forecast Generation: Produce forecasts for various horizons (e.g., next hour, day-ahead, seasonal peaks) for different customer segments.
  • Market Support: Provide forecasts to retail power traders for strategic supply and hedging decisions.
  • Reporting & Collaboration: Communicate forecasts, analysis, and potential risks to management, trading desks, and operations.


Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
  • ~2-4 years of professional experience developing and maintaining mathematical models, preferably in electricity/power load forecasting or in data analytics supporting a Retail Energy Provider, Independent Power Producer (IPP), or a utility.
  • Strong quantitative modeling (regression modeling, including neural-net, simple regression, and hybrid modeling) and statistical analysis (MAD, MAPE, etc.) skills.
  • Advanced programming skills (Python, R, SAS, VBA, and Oracle SQL or SQL Server). Experience with LightGBM, CatBoost, and XGBoost is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of and proficiency with data extraction, analysis, and reporting across complex system structures.
  • Familiarity with deregulated power ISO markets, portfolio management and optimization, energy supply stack, load forecasting attributes, C&I customer profiling, etc., is preferred.
