Fire Alarm Technician - About the role:
- The position starts immediately. The technician will be responsible for traveling site to site and performing/assisting with repairs/maintenance/installation/inspection of fire alarm systems.

Fire Alarm Technician Qualifications:
- FAL license
- 3 years' experience in installation of fire alarm systems.
- 3 years' experience in testing and inspections of fire alarm systems.
- Ability to read blue prints and layout in all types of buildings including, warehouses, schools and hospitals.
- Experience with hand tools and be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Must be able to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 40 pounds and be able to work on lifts and ladders.
- Must have a valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company requirements
- Able to pass a pre-employment background and drug test.

Responsible for inspection, installation, and repair of Wet, Dry, Pre-action, Deluge and Foam systems; Testing, rebuilding and/or replacing Backflow Preventers. Responsible for identifying trouble areas and performing service in an efficient and professional manner to ensure that sprinkler systems are operating properly. Responsibilities include:
Sprinkler and Backflow Systems Installation, Repair, & Service:
- Prepare jobsite, performing visual inspection of system, disabling horn & strobes, and alerting alarm company and fire department.
- Install/hang sprinkler systems and their components per NFPA and engineering guidelines.
- Install or replace wet, dry, pre-action, deluge and foam systems as needed.
- Repair and/or replace all sprinkler systems components.
Repair, replace and rebuild backflow preventers as necessary.
- Verify proper communication with monitoring station when working on a monitored system after repair.
- Perform system tests to verify alarm & sprinkler systems are working properly upon completion of repair.

Qualifications
- Massachusetts Fire Sprinkler Journeyman License
- 1-3 years field experience in Sprinkler and Backflow systems service.
- Fire and /or Life Safety Systems experience.
- Must have or be able & willing to attain state Sprinkler and/or Backflow Licenses.
- Possess a valid driverβs license and driving record that meets company requirements.
- Must have a strong mechanical aptitude.
- Must be able to visually inspect and service sprinkler and backflow systems.
- Must be able to recognize alarm sights and sounds.
- Strong working knowledge of NFPA codes.
- May require ability to effectively use a Sprinkler Pipe Threader.
- Must be able to effectively use backflow tester, pipe wrench, various lifts and common pipe fitting tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3-5 years of proven success in performance of Sprinkler inspection, installation, and service is highly preferred.

- Conduct Fire Prevention Inspections of Commercial Properties: Under the supervision of the Fire Inspector III (Senior Inspector), conduct on-site inspections (i.e., sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, and protection devices and equipment) of commercial properties with responsible party, to ensure the systems are still operating as installed per fire code and all applicable standards. Enter completed inspection notices into Public Safety records management system and tracking software to complete and document the inspection. Conduct follow-up and re-inspections for compliance with codes while under the guidance and supervision of the Senior Inspector. Conduct after-hours life safety inspections of nightclubs and other assembly occupancies as directed. Assist with Fire and Life Safety classes to help educate the public about fire safety and emergency training practices for business, communities and private residences.
- Assist with Permit Field Inspections: Assist Fire Inspector II in conducting on-site inspections of new and renovated systems that pertain to all applicable fire and life safety systems with contractors. Inspect buildings to locate hazardous conditions and fire code violations such as accumulation of combustible materials, electrical wiring problems, and inadequate or non-functional fire exits. Inspect and test fire protection systems such as fire alarms, sprinklers, and other fire protection equipment to verify that systems are installed in accordance with appropriate laws, codes, ordinances, regulations, and standards. Works with Inspector II to ensure all records have been completed and entered into Public Safety records management system and tracking software. Perform occupancy compliance checks and inspect special event sites.
- Assist with Fire Investigations: Respond to fire scenes as needed. Assist in determination of the origin and cause of fire. Interview witnesses, take pictures, draw diagrams, and assist law enforcement with collection of evidence as directed by the senior investigators. - Two (2) or more years of experience as a Firefighter II or higher.

- NFPA FFII meeting IFSAC or ProBoard certifications.
- Current CPR.

Job Summary
Responsible for performing general firefighting and emergency medical care at fire and disaster scenes.
Essential Duties
- Responds to fire alarms with a company; lays and connects hose, holds nozzles and directs water stream; raises and climbs ladders; uses chemical extinguishers, bars, hooks, lines, and other equipment.
- Drives fire apparatus; operates pumps, and other auxiliary fire apparatus.
- Ventilates burning buildings by opening windows and skylights or cutting holes in roofs and floors.
- Removes persons from danger and administers emergency care to injured or ill persons.
- Performs general maintenance work in the upkeep of department property, cleans and washes walls and floors, cares for grounds around station; makes minor repairs, washes, hangs and dries hose; washes, cleans, polishes, maintains and tests apparatus and equipment.
- Performs salvage and overhaul operations such as throwing salvage covers, sweeping water and removing debris.
- Participates in fire drills and attends classes in firefighting and emergency medical care.
- Inspects buildings to determine fire hazards.

- At higher level of Firefighter, instructs job skills to others.

o Provide dedicated fire and safety coverage for high-risk operations within the facility, such as hot work (welding, cutting), confined space entry, or hazardous material transfers.

β’ Incident Command System (ICS) Support:
o Operate effectively within the established Incident Command System (ICS) structure during emergencies.
o Follow direct orders, maintain accountability, and provide clear, concise status reports to the Incident Commander or assigned supervisor.

o Regularly inspecting, cleaning, lubricating, and performing scheduled maintenance on fire prevention equipment like fire suppression system components, fire alarm system components and fire extinguishers.
o Perform routine inspections, functional tests, cleaning, and minor maintenance on all fire apparatus, tools, and equipment (e.g., hoses, nozzles, SCBA, pumps, rescue tools, HazMat detection devices, etc.) to ensure compliance and peak operational readiness.
o Ensure all internal apparatus fire pump components are operating properly, lubricate control valves, and identify any issues that require correction.
o Document all maintenance activities and report any unresolved deficiencies or malfunctions promptly.
o Collaborate with production operators, engineers, and maintenance technicians to identify and address fire prevention equipment issues, isolate compromised fire prevention system(s), and manage fire suppression system impairments.
β’ Facility Inspections:
o Conduct routine and systematic fire safety inspections of buildings, processing units, storage areas, and equipment to identify potential fire hazards, unsafe conditions, or non-compliance issues.
o Inspect fire suppression systems (sprinklers, standpipes, fire alarms), fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, and exit routes for proper function and readiness.
β’ Pre-Incident Planning:
o Participate in the development and review of pre-incident plans for various scenarios throughout the facility.
o Thoroughly understand building layouts, process flow diagrams, hazardous material locations, utility shut-offs, and emergency egress routes.
β’ Permit System Compliance:
o Review and verify compliance for hot work permits, confined space entry permits, and other safety-related permits, ensuring all conditions are met before and during operations.
β’ Risk Assessment:
o Actively participate in identifying and assessing risks related to fire, explosion, and other emergencies within the industrial environment.
β’ Safety Adherence:
o Strictly adhere to all company policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety regulations, and industry best practices.
o Proactively identify, report, and help mitigate unsafe conditions or practices observed within the facility.
o Consistently and correctly wear and maintain all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
β’ Inventory Management:
o Maintain accurate inventory of all firefighting supplies, HazMat absorbents, medical supplies, and rescue equipment.
o Ensure proper storage and accessibility of all emergency response assets.
β’ Continuous Learning:
o Actively participate in all required internal and external training programs, drills, and exercises, including but not limited to: fire suppression techniques, HazMat operations/technician level, medical refreshers, technical rescue disciplines, and SCBA proficiency.
o Maintain physical fitness standards necessary for the demanding nature of the job.
β’ Internal Training Support:
o Assist in developing and delivering fire safety and emergency preparedness training to facility personnel (e.g., fire extinguisher use, emergency evacuation procedures, basic first aid).
β’ Incident Reporting:
o Accurately and thoroughly document all incidents, near-misses, inspections, training activities, and equipment maintenance in logs, reports, and digital systems.
o Provide clear and concise written and verbal reports.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Two (2) years' experience as an Emergency Dispatcher, twenty-four (24) continuing education credits in a relevant course. For internal candidates: active participation in a departmental workgroup or project which shall be defined by the Chief of Emergency Communications or his/her designee, any record of discipline that resulted in a suspension during the twelve (12) months preceding the application for lateral transfer shall be reviewed to determine eligibility for lateral transfer and an overall performance rating of satisfactory or above in the year applying for the lateral transfer.

Job Summary: The Emergency Services Coordinator will inspect and audit all Safety regulatory compliance for the entire Six Flags property. They will also participate in Fire Protection and assist the EMS team when necessary.
Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Respond to fire-related calls for service as part of the Fire Brigade
- Conduct and record safety audits and inspections regularly throughout the Six Flags Great Adventure properties
- Conduct safety inspections before or during projects to analyze safety risks
- Educate employees on safety standards and procedures
- Provide recommendations for improving safety in the workplace
- Investigate accidents that occur onsite and identify possible causes of the accident
- Maintain documentation of the company's safety procedures, accidents, and related events
- Act as a liaison between the Park and external partners, such as fire and EMS agencies
- Maintain all Safety Department equipment and facilities
- Respond to medical emergencies and assist as needed
- Complete any task assigned by the Emergency Services Supervisor, Public Safety Supervisor, or Public Safety Manager

THE POSITION IN A NUTSHELL
Sciens Building Solutions is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Repair Technician to provide inspection and maintenance capabilities. This position will work closely with our sales team, field project teams, and clients to ensure our customers systems are inspected and maintained in a code-compliant manner. This is a key position for our growing team and requires attention to detail in all aspects of executing projects. Customer and employee interface require a high degree of effective human relations. Communication skills, both verbal and written, are important elements of the position.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (and doing well!)
- Responsible for reviewing system layouts, and coordinating with the systems and service departments for a successful project execution.
- Produce field surveys and daily project activity logs.
- Responsible for inspecting and maintaining fire sprinkler systems.
- Produce detailed inspection and deficiency reports in accordance with NFPA.
- Responsible for delivering projects on schedule and within cost budgets.
- Responsible for logging and transmitting inspection reports via laptop computers.
- Oversight for project inventory and responsible for vehicle inventory.

WHAT WE LIKE ABOUT YOU
- Two to five years of experience in an inspector technician role within the fire sprinkler industry.
- Working knowledge of wet, dry, and pre-action systems, as well as backflows and fire pumps.
- Experience with installation of underground piping preferred but not required.
- Proficient in NFPA 13, 20, 24 & 72 code requirements.
- NICET level II.
- Ability to read fire system design drawings.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
- Certified in backflow inspection and repair preferred.
