Position Overview

A leading consumer products organization is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the development of innovative, high-volume consumer products. This role will serve as the technical product owner for cross-functional engineering teams, ensuring product requirements, performance, cost targets, and development schedules are successfully achieved.

The position works closely with global development teams and manufacturing partners to guide products from concept and development through validation and production readiness. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in systems engineering, product architecture, and cross-functional technical leadership within consumer product development environments.


Key Responsibilities

Translate consumer and stakeholder needs into detailed system and product requirements.

Develop system architectures that support product functionality and performance goals.

Decompose system-level requirements into subsystems, modules, and components, ensuring alignment across engineering teams.

Manage interfaces between subsystems and coordinate with platform owners and engineering leads.

Required Qualifications

Experience in systems engineering, product architecture, and cross-functional technical leadership.

Knowledge of design validation planning, DFMEA processes, and risk analysis methods.

Experience using statistical analysis tools such as JMP, Minitab, R, or similar platforms.

Advanced experience with 3D CAD modeling tools (SolidWorks preferred).

Hands-on experience with prototyping, test fixture development, and experimental validation.

Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across engineering, manufacturing, and product teams.


Preferred Qualifications

Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Design and execute experiments in appropriate scale-down models such as shake flasks and bioreactors in an effort to develop robust, high yield, and scalable manufacturing processes
  • Serve as upstream tech lead; ensure accurate tech transfer to pilot and GMP manufacturing facilities; provide technical support during manufacturing campaign
  • Timely and accurately document data in electronic lab notebooks; author technical reports and contribute to relevant sections of regulatory submissions such as IND and BLA
  • Participate and contribute to discussions in lab and project team meetings on design of experiments and interpretation of data
  • Contribute to safe, efficient, and harmonious lab environment; strong lab citizen and collaborative team player

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years’ industrial experience or Master’s degree with 0-3 years industrial experience in Chemical/Biochemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Microbiology or a relevant field.
  • Significant experience with sophisticated lab instruments such as bioreactor systems and analytical equipment.

Role Overview

The Manufacturing Engineer supports the development and optimization of manufacturing processes for high‑precision products. This role is central to improving efficiency, enhancing product quality, and ensuring production targets are consistently met. The engineer collaborates across departments—including Design Engineering, Quality, Operations, and the shop floor—to strengthen product flow, maintain documentation accuracy, and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Process & Design Review

  • Evaluate product designs for manufacturability, appropriate tolerances, quality requirements, and cost‑impacting features.
  • Define the complete manufacturing process for components and assemblies, ensuring alignment with production capabilities.
  • Determine fixture and gage requirements for new parts and either design or source the necessary tooling.

Documentation & Systems

  • Create and maintain manufacturing routes and bills of material within the ERP system.
  • Review Engineering Change Orders and update process documentation accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date process instructions, tooling documentation, and related technical records.

Collaboration & Problem Solving

  • Work closely with manufacturing engineers, design engineers, quality personnel, supervisors, and machine operators to maximize productivity and product quality.
  • Participate in root‑cause investigations and corrective actions for quality issues.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance throughput, reduce waste, and improve consistency.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Experience with CNC machining, including work‑holding principles and machining fundamentals.
  • Strong understanding of general machine shop practices and measurement techniques.
  • Proficiency with CAD/solid modeling tools and familiarity with engineering drawings, GD&T, and dimensioning standards.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems for routing, BOM creation, and documentation control.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently, think creatively, and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
