About the Role

We are looking for a Power Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team. This individual will help design, size and specify power distribution from MV though LV. This person will be involved in concept investigation, system verification, design through successful installation.

Basic Qualifications & Responsibilities

• Proven expertise in the design, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of low- and medium-voltage AC distribution systems, including power distribution, control systems, and wiring.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, and other technical teams to ensure cohesive project execution.
• Experience in the development of electrical construction packages comprised of:
• Single Line Diagrams
• Three Line Diagrams
• Schematics/Elementary Diagrams
• Interconnection Diagrams
• Written narratives
• Proficient in interpreting and applying electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical diagrams to support system design and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of 3 Phase Power Systems, Power Factor correction, Harmonics mitigation.
• Interpret/Draft AC Distribution schematic drawings.
• Ability to load balance and perform load calculations.
• Knowledgeable of the requirements detailed in the National Electrical Code (NEC) and National Electrical Safety Code (NESC).
• Experience with power system modeling tools - ETAP preferred.
• Adept at the use of Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD. Knowing Revit is a plus.
• Communicate effectively with both the business and technical teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to tackle complex engineering challenges.
• Familiar with Automotive standards and specification.
• Technical Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Power Platform solutions, identifying, and resolving issues promptly.
• Documentation: Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for solutions, workflows, and processes, ensuring knowledge transfer and continuity.
• Familiarity with various cable types (e.g., multi-conductor, fiber optic, coaxial, twisted pair, power) and their specifications for system integration and performance.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution and minimum of 7 years in power distribution applications.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
• Must possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license and US Passport with no travel restrictions.

Required Skills

Electrical Systems Engineer

Location: Madison Heights, Michigan

Salary Range: $125,000/year to $140,000/year; The salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Job Summary

This position leads the design and development of electrical control systems for vehicle applications, bridging customer requirements with technical solutions. The role combines electrical engineering, embedded software development, and systems integration expertise to deliver tested, production-ready control systems while maintaining direct customer engagement throughout the development lifecycle.

Job Functions:

• Capture and document customer system/hardware/software requirements
• Design and develop system wiring, including wiring schematics, conductor, connector and terminal selection
• Specify, design and develop control system electronics hardware, sensors, and actuators
• Design, develop, and verify software and control algorithms to meet requirements
• Perform data analysis and system control tuning/calibration
• Perform system testing and troubleshooting, ensuring a control system meets requirements
• Effectively interface with co-workers and customers in meetings

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, or computer science

• Minimum 5 years of post-graduate working experience in controls (automotive or military vehicle level preferred)
• Experience with at least one of the following software languages: MATLAB/Simulink/State flow, C, or C++
• Experience with CANbus, Serial, and Ethernet communications
• Ability to read, understand and create electrical schematics, and a good understanding of electrical and electronics basics
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to write concise technical reports
• Initiative to work independently and handle several assignments simultaneously
• Able to manage time to ensure projects are completed by deadline
• Ability to independently absorb new technical assignments
• Must be willing to support limited travel

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented P&ID Designer or Process Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in creating and revising Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) using AutoCAD, Revit, and Plant 3D, with a strong understanding of ISO and industry standards. This role is critical to ensuring accurate documentation of process systems for industrial, manufacturing, or energy projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and revise P&IDs for process systems in compliance with ISO and project-specific standards.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and process engineers to ensure accurate system representation.
• Use AutoCAD Plant 3D and Revit to model piping layouts, instrumentation, and equipment.
• Maintain and update engineering documentation, including BOMs, datasheets, and control narratives.

DRE Platform integration (PI)

The Power and Signal Distribution (PASD) PI Release Engineer will be responsible for the design and release of wiring harness assemblies and related components. The Engineer will coordinate drawing creation in both 2D Capital XC and 3D CAD release in Teamcenter (NX) and validation of released components in the vehicle and component environments. The engineer will support vehicle manufacturing/supplier facilities for entire life cycle, manage plant design issues along with change requests from both the plant and suppliers. The engineer will manage large amounts of data/changes that must be incorporated into the current/future designs.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent (Materials /Chemical/ Civil/ Aerospace/Computer) from an ABET accredited university
• 3 years of transportation wiring design and release experience or vehicle electrical system experience
• 5 years of engineering experience
• Excellent communication skills that include writing, creation and presentation of management level high quality presentation materials and reports
• Proficient in MS Office suite of tools including PowerPoint, Excel and Word

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
• Training in DFMEA DVP&R and DFSS development tools and processes
• Working knowledge of CAD systems (NX, Catia)
• Working knowledge of CAD systems (Capital XC)
• Experience in high volume manufacturing facilities along with knowledge of wiring manufacturing facility
• Familiarity with wiring harness drawings and specifications for automotive applications
• Web publishing and familiarity with SharePoint data management environments

Responsibilities:

• Debug machine controls and adjust machine parameters as needed
• Run software and system tests to verify functionality and performance
