Key Responsibilities

Sourcing & Deal Execution

  • Own and execute end-to-end sourcing activities for human data and research services suppliers

  • Draft, review, and operationalize statements of work, pricing structures, and commercial terms in coordination with legal and finance partners

About the Role

Manning Kass is seeking an Insurance Defense Attorney to join one of our California offices in a hybrid remote capacity. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with clients, businesses and legal teams. Associates work closely with lead attorneys daily, engaging in all phases of litigation—from case evaluation to discovery through trial —focusing on strategic thinking to achieve client goals. We seek candidates who are eager to learn, highly self-motivated, and interested in long-term professional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Drafting extensive written discovery, including preparing and responding to interrogatories, documents requests and request for admissions.
  • Proactively managing communications with clients throughout the course of litigation.
  • Timely and accurate reporting to our clients, ensuring compliance with their case management requirements.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree is required.
  • You must be licensed to practice in the State of California.
  • Exceptional communication and advocacy skills, both verbal and written.
  • Time management skills and ability to manage and meet deadlines is required.
  • Experience handling discovery for complex matters, with substantial knowledge of evidentiary objections in responding to discovery.
  • Strong critical thinking, interpersonal skills and the ability to exercise common sense in complex situations while reporting to clients and carriers.
