The Raytheon Mechanical Engineering (ME) Organization leads the mechanical hardware design, development and production support of a wide breadth of air, land, sea, and space systems.

Within the ME Organization, the Undersea, Sensors & Structures (USS) Department leads the mechanical design, development, and integration of a set of products, including but not limited to undersea sensors and analysis, naval platforms, shipboard/ground-based processing and power equipment, and launchers.
The USS department is looking for a full-time Mechanical Engineer II, located in Portsmouth, RI.
What You Will Do:
Perform mechanical design, development, and documentation of components, sub-assemblies, and major end items for defense system equipment in accordance with system requirements.
Collaborate across multiple disciplines/functions (i.e. structural/thermal analyses and electrical engineering) to solve complex technical challenges in a fast-paced, team environment.
Validate design fit and functionality by rapid prototyping and/or simulation
Support the factory and suppliers with product integration
Participate in design peer reviews, resolving action items, and conduct trade studies to make sound technical decisions.
Occasional CONUS travel to customer sites or suppliers is generally required.
International and longer duration travel assignments are available but optional
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a Bachelors Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience. An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical design, documentation and fabrication.
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Experience in the specification, design, development, production and testing of undersea systems and electronics packaging. Knowledge of design for long term submergence, sealing, and corrosion resistance.

A Day in the Life of the Boat Mechanic
In this role, you’ll serve as a lead mechanic and technical expert responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining marine engines while supporting the day-to-day operations of a busy marine service department. You’ll work on a large fleet of boats, collaborate with specialized technicians, and help mentor junior mechanics. Your expertise will play a key role in maintaining service quality and supporting the continued growth of the department.
Responsibilities include:
- Diagnose and repair Yamaha and/or Mercury marine engines
- Perform advanced mechanical repairs and complex diagnostics beyond routine maintenance
- Utilize manufacturer diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot engine issues
- Perform engine diagnostics, manifold repairs, rigging, installation, seasonal service, and winterization
- Manage and prioritize service work for more than 120 boats serviced annually
- Order parts and materials required for repairs

Job Purpose
As the Supervisor, CNC Manufacturing at Vulcan Forms in Newburyport MA, you are responsible for overseeing the assigned area's daily operations, productivity, and staff. Compensation: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour

Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform programming and machinery set up with minimum assistance, except on the most complex work and/or where exceptionally close tolerances are required. Perform prototype work from detailed specifications. Exercise considerable care of equipment, tools, parts, machines, and materials to prevent damage.
- Interpret drawings, and route sheets to ascertain nature of assigned work orders.
- Compute accurate mathematical dimensions needed to manufacture parts of average complexity. Use precision measuring instruments.
- Perform quality machining of various types of materials as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory responsibilities but may provide technical leadership to lower level CNC/Machinists including carrying out lead responsibilities in accordance with applicable regulations and laws and the organization's policies and procedures. This includes, but is not limited to training employees, planning, assigning, directing work and resolving technically related work problems.

Education and/or Experience:
- Vocational or Technical Certificate in related field and at a minium of 5 years of directly related experience
- Ability to use shop mathematics, drawings and measuring tools.
- Must have the ability to use various machinist measuring tools
- Must maintain a 5S work station in a team environment
Other Skills and Abilities
- Basic Knowledge of ISO and/or AS9100
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/6 Sigma/Kaizen
- Knowledge of specific software (design, analysis, ERP...)
