What You Will Do
Work under moderate supervision with acoustic engineers to perform in-water acoustic sensor testing at our acoustic test facility
Work with engineers to rig and fixture acoustic sensors and configure test equipment in support of in-water test events.
Perform crane operations to rig and position engineering test articles and hydrophones/projectors within the test facility.
Build and provide in-process test of acoustic sensors, including fine-pitch soldering, working with adhesives and chemicals, manufacturing tooling, curing cycles, fiber optics and general mechanical work.
Work with facilities personnel to ensure day-to-day operation of test tank equipment, such as water filtration, overhead cranes and plumbing systems.
Ensure engineering work in the test facility is conducted in accordance with lab operating procedures and company policy.
Work with limited supervision and meet commitments for identified schedule, financial, and technical goals.
Assimilate data packages for devices tested and make them available for cognizant engineering personnel.
Provide written communications of work accomplished and any pertinent issues encountered to designated managerial and subject matter experts
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
Experience with performing technician work in an engineering and/or production test environment.
Experience with the use of typical benchtop electronic test equipment inclusive of oscilloscopes, voltmeters, impedance analyzers and amplifiers.
Experience with the following processes or similar; adhesive bonding, chemical mixing, encapsulation, paint application, chromate touch up, vapor degreasing, die grinding, sanding, mechanical press, oven curing, vacuum bagging, vacuum chambers, micro/grit-blast, fiber optic splicing.

A Day in the Life of the Boat Mechanic
In this role, you’ll serve as a lead mechanic and technical expert responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining marine engines while supporting the day-to-day operations of a busy marine service department. You’ll work on a large fleet of boats, collaborate with specialized technicians, and help mentor junior mechanics. Your expertise will play a key role in maintaining service quality and supporting the continued growth of the department.
Responsibilities include:
- Diagnose and repair Yamaha and/or Mercury marine engines
- Perform advanced mechanical repairs and complex diagnostics beyond routine maintenance
- Utilize manufacturer diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot engine issues
- Perform engine diagnostics, manifold repairs, rigging, installation, seasonal service, and winterization
- Manage and prioritize service work for more than 120 boats serviced annually
- Order parts and materials required for repairs
- Prepare service estimates, invoices, and job documentation
- Lead and mentor junior mechanics and technicians
- Assist in training new technicians and apprentices entering the marine field
- Collaborate with in-house specialists including fiberglass and marine electronics technicians
- Identify additional repair or upgrade opportunities that support service department revenue
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Yamaha or Mercury Marine Certification
- 5+ years of experience working as a marine mechanic servicing boat engines
- Strong ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues
- Experience using manufacturer diagnostic tools and marine engine software
- Ability to manage multiple service jobs and prioritize repairs efficiently
- Experience leading, mentoring, or training other mechanics
- Experience managing service jobs, ordering parts, and preparing service invoices
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Job Purpose
As the Supervisor, CNC Manufacturing at Vulcan Forms in Newburyport MA, you are responsible for overseeing the assigned area's daily operations, productivity, and staff. Reporting to Associate Manager, Machine Shop, the successful candidate will help develop the workforce requirements, process task times, and evaluate the performance of the manufacturing production staff.
This is a weekday position with the hours of 7am to 3:30pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Directly supervise and train manufacturing staff of the assigned area.
- Lead, coach, and support the team's growth to reach maximum throughput.
- Conduct daily standup meetings, discussing goals, needs, and solutions.
- Prepare daily reports against planned manufacturing targets.
- Ensure all leads have the necessary materials, tools and documents are adequate for an upcoming shift.
- Identify areas of improvement and collaborate cross-functionally on solutions.
- Enforcement of OSHA standards and corrective action.
- Perform 7S and Lean projects.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a component (CNC) manufacturing environment.
- Experience leading a team within a CNC manufacturing environment for machining, deburring and assembly.
- Experience in manufacturing for the Aerospace industry
- Self-motivated, hands-on, with a practical mindset, and capable of setting and reaching ambitious goals.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite Software, ERP Systems (EPICOR), Outlook, and others as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Systems Engineering or equivalent, or work equivalent.
- Excited about taking on new challenges in a fast-paced environment (3D Printing Manufacturing a plus)

Facilities Engineer - PM
Pay rate: Up to 115k + Bonus
Position Overview
The Facilities Engineer / Project Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating strategic projects that enhance operational performance across the organization. This role sets project goals, defines milestones, identifies roadblocks, and drives the actions needed to eliminate them. Working closely with production, planning, maintenance, and logistics teams, this position leads both short‑ and long‑term improvement initiatives aimed at increasing capacity, reducing lead times, improving delivery performance, and elevating product quality.
This is an individual‑contributor role with high visibility, requiring strong analytical skills, hands‑on problem‑solving, and the ability to communicate progress to senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Execution
- Define project scope, goals, milestones, and success criteria.
- Identify roadblocks and independently drive solutions to remove them.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across multiple departments.

Required Qualifications

- Ability to write queries and macros; experience with Access databases.
- Working knowledge of Power BI and Visual Basic.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to pass a Fit‑for‑Duty physical exam.
