The Controls Application Engineer Manager is a leader in the HVAC BAS industry. This position is responsible for ensuring our BAS systems meet NDBS rigorous quality standards while driving continuous improvement and ensuring our group is leading with industry trends and innovation. The Controls Application Engineer Manageroversees the whole controls process, cradle-to-grave, by assisting in estimation, design, implementation, modification and maintenance of the control system.

Design and Technical:

• Aide in Diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving software issues on installed Building Automation and Energy Management Systems.
• Aide in the Diagnosing communication problems with control devices and other components.
• Assist where needed with commissioning and startup of new Building Automation and Energy Management Systems to ensure proper operation.

Project Execution:

• Collaborate with preconstruction department to develop BAS bid scope.
• Collaborate with engineering to ensure design scope is aligning with BAS expectations.
• Collaborate with operations department to ensure a shared understanding of BAS scope and overall execution

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• 10+ years building automation controls experience
• Niagara N4 certification
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead a team while prioritizing project deliverables and tasks
• Demonstrated expertise in planning, organizing, and controlling all aspects of complex, large scale mechanical, electrical, or control system projects.
• Excellent leadership, organization, and communication skills

• Solicit, level, and validate supplier/manufacturer quotes; confirm scope, inclusions/exclusions, alternates, and delivery assumptions.
• Support intercompany sales efforts by engaging OEMs, reps, and distributors, maintaining pricing intelligence, and helping identify new procurement opportunities.
• Evaluate bills of material for completeness and accuracy; flag gaps, long-lead items, and coordination concerns (power, controls, structural, seismic, space/clearances).
• Assist with contract review from a procurement perspective (commercial terms, freight, taxes, escalation, liquidated damages, warranty, service/startup).
• Gather and prepare submittal packages (equipment schedules, cut sheets, performance data, controls narratives) and track reviews/returns to keep the buyout schedule on track.
• Create purchase requisitions / product lists and support purchase order and change order preparation with clear scope and quantities.

• Strong knowledge of mechanical construction and HVAC systems/equipment; able to read plans/specs and speak the language of engineers, contractors, and OEMs.

Job Summary:

Our client is seeking a Business Analyst/Project Manager to join their team! This position is located in St. Louis, Missouri.

Duties:

• Lead discovery sessions with application owners and stakeholders
• Identify and document "entanglements" between two merging entities, including physical security, badge readers, payroll systems, and retail operations
• Translate vague business needs into technical specifications for network engineering, active directory, and firewall configurations
• Discern critical applications from non-essential requests
• Push back and validate priorities when faced with hundreds of high-priority requests
• Transition from BA-style discovery to PM-style execution
• Manage task lists, track workstream health, and ensure milestones, 30/60/90 day targets, are met
• Act as the primary liaison between technical teams and business owners, ensuring nomenclature and technical standards are aligned across both organizations

Desired Skills/Experience:

• Proven experience acting as both a Business Analyst, gathering/documenting and a Project Manager, driving/executing
• A solid understanding of technical infrastructure, including network engineering, Identity and Access Management, and Cloud versus On-Prem connectivity models
• Previous experience working on large-scale integrations or migrations is highly preferred
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Exceptional ability to interview application owners and distill complex technical environments into clear project documentation
• Proficiency in "The Usual" PM/BA toolkit such as: Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, Visio/LucidChart
• Fast-paced, high-volume environment with hundreds of incoming requests
• Focus on Day 1 readiness and immediate post-merger stabilization

The approximate pay range for this position is between $31.00 and $45.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
