The Electrical Engineering (EE) Section of the Materials and Process Engineering Department is seeking an individual to fulfill the role of Senior Electronic Materials Failure Analyst. This position supports the EE section in its mission of performing electronic materials failure analysis and component evaluation. The devices submitted for analysis range from simple passive devices to complex, custom microcircuits as well cables, connectors, magnetics and electro-magnetics.
What You Will Do:
- The position requires knowledge of the materials of electrical components, including ceramics and glasses, metal wire bonding, component staking, conformal coating, and solder.
- The position requires the ability to work through each step of an analysis, from initial evaluation, photo-documentation, electrical test, destructive testing and writing a final report that substantiates any failure conclusions.
- The position requires being able to determine the root cause of failures using the available laboratory equipment. This includes digital photo-documentation, various electrical component test equipment, Sono-scan, SEM-EDS, and various destructive techniques.
The Sr. Electronic Materials Failure Analyst job is in Tucson, AZ and the position is onsite.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a University degree in Electrical Engineering or Material Science or Physics and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or An Advanced Degree in a related field andminimum 3 years experience
- Experience in electronic component failure analysis
- Experience in the analysis of microcircuits, active or passive electrical components.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Knowledge of Government Component Documents i.e. MIL-STD, MIL-PRF, and MIL-HDBK specifications, and associated QPLs and QMLs. (MIL-STDs 750 / 883, MIL-PRF 38534, 38534, 19500, 1580 etc.)

- Own a complex plaintiff personal injury docket with a heavy products liability focus from intake through verdict
- Serve as first chair trial counsel and lead trial strategy, motion practice, expert development, and case valuation
- Retain and work directly with liability, medical, economic, and engineering experts and manage expert discovery
- Take and defend expert depositions and corporate representative depositions (Rule 30(b)(6) or state equivalent)

A growing civil engineering firm is seeking a Senior Engineering Leader to strengthen relationships with the City of Austin and lead complex stormwater, drainage, and flood control projects. This role will provide senior technical leadership, mentor engineers, and help expand the firm’s presence across major municipal infrastructure programs.

SUMMARY: This description outlines the employment prerequisites and job responsibilities for the position of Engineer, Quality Complaint Investigation.
II.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: This position has primary responsibility for investigation, review, and completion of all Quality Engineering complaint issue analysis tasks utilizing various quality system inputs.
Review individual complaints and associated service data to determine risk level and complete investigation into the as determined problem code and cause codes for each complaint.
Analyze data from various quality inputs (including but not limited to: Field Corrective Action (FCA), Complaints, FDA Medical Device Reports (MDR), etc.) to determine trends and systemic issues.
Prepare and issue reports based on information analysis.
Review existing investigation reports and identify gaps for GMP compliance.
Develop strategies and plans to close the gaps in an efficient and technical manner.
Develop and communicate expectations for quality performance, continuous improvement, and process controls for marketed products.
Monitor and drive corrective action and continuous improvement activities that directly impact performance measures by performing primary investigations, conducting data analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
Conduct or lead corrective and preventive actions in manufacturing using formal problem-solving tools and documentation.
Support CAPA and maintenance activities for existing product lines.
Recommend and/or support projects for improvements to the quality system as approved by management.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED Medical Device Experience with knowledge of 21CFR820 preferred.
Investigational research skills Experience with any statistical software packages (Minitab a plus) Desired experience in the medical device industry in the development and deployment of Quality Systems, process controls, and continuous improvement methods.
Knowledge and working application of FDA cGMP; ANSI/ISO/ASQC requirements; CMDAS (optional).
