Job Summary

The Quality Engineer (Specialist) works under general supervision and plays a key role in ensuring product and process quality within aerospace/manufacturing environments. This individual may own projects or processes, provide guidance to team members, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

You will act as a bridge between internal teams and customer counterparts, ensuring that hardware meets all required specifications and quality standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a quality liaison between engineering teams, manufacturing, and customers to ensure product compliance.
  • Review and communicate non-conformances and deviations across multiple organizational levels.
  • Interpret and apply engineering drawings, specifications, and customer quality requirements.
  • Support and drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Evaluate in-process defects, implement containment actions, and lead corrective actions.
  • Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities and non-conformance disposition.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing and Project Engineering to develop inspection/test plans and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with aerospace processes such as machining, welding, and non-destructive testing (NDT).
  • Make process/system improvements with moderate impact on operational performance.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS) such as ISO 9001 / AS9100

  • Impregnate materials and cut fabrics to size using appropriate tools such as knives and shears.

  • Sand and polish molds to achieve smooth surfaces and wrap mandrels with impregnated materials to meet specifications.

  • Seal edges of repair areas with color-matched sealant as required.

  • Consult with engineering, planning, and inspection on job-related issues and contact team leaders or supervisors when assistance is needed. 

  • Document repairs identified by other mechanics and maintain personal certifications as required.

Machinists in this position participate in the design, fabrication and assembly of various production and research projects. Using a variety of precision machines (e.g., lathes, grinders, EDM, CNC and milling machines) to support aircraft engineering and production groups.

Position Responsibilities:

- Perform bench work (e.g., drilling, honing, tapping, reaming) on production and experimental parts, as required

Job Summary
The Capital Projects Coordinator is considered a journey level classification and performs engineering, architecture, construction management and/or project management responsibilities. This professional level position plans, budgets, and schedules all aspects of the parks, facilities, utilities and transportation capital improvements, as well as other City Funded/sponsored projects of basic to mid-level complexity. The position administers consultant contracts; coordinates design reviews, environmental reviews, coordinates property and permit acquisitions; coordinates building and contract awards; monitors construction contract progress and ensures proper project closeouts.
