Our recruiting firm is partnering with a well-established manufacturing company in Buena Park to hire a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer (Electro-Mechanical) with strong automation and controls experience.
This is a high-impact role supporting Engineering, R&D, and Production. The ideal candidate thrives on the manufacturing floor and has deep experience designing, programming, and improving automated systems.
What You’ll Be Doing
Automation & Equipment Design
- Design and implement semi-automated and fully automated manufacturing equipment
- Program and troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems
- Work with sensors, solenoids, motors, pneumatics, hydraulics, and vision systems
- Conduct machine qualification and validation testing
Manufacturing & Process Engineering
- Lead and support R&D line trials
- Design tooling, fixtures, and work cells
- Optimize production line layout and efficiency
- Support capital equipment evaluation and justification
Continuous Improvement & Quality
- Perform root cause analysis of process and quality issues
- Implement Lean manufacturing initiatives
- Apply DFMA, SPC, FMEA, and DOE methodologies
- Reduce material discrepancies, returns, and customer complaints
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Maintenance, Sales, and Production teams
- Support safety initiatives and environmental compliance efforts
What We’re Looking For
Required:
- BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- 7+ years of hands-on manufacturing engineering experience (required)
- Strong PLC programming and automation experience
- Experience designing mechanical and electrical manufacturing equipment
- SolidWorks proficiency (3D modeling & drafting)
- Experience with Lean manufacturing practices
- Ability to read engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
Preferred:
- Experience in plastics, rubber, extrusion, or co-extrusion manufacturing
- Bilingual Spanish/English
- Knowledge of KPI/KPP/KPC metrics
- Experience with ASTM testing standards
- Microsoft Project experience
