Summary: Performs a variety of complex electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of electronics and/or electrical equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy onboard U.S. vessels/government installations.
Duties and Responsibilities- Reports directly to the Production Manager. Once assigned reports directly to the project Foreman in the performance of his/her responsibilities.
- Performs component and/or system troubleshooting to diagnose the problem and provide most cost-effective recommendation for completing repairs.
- Performs and/or verifies mechanical alignments.
- Ensures control and assumes responsibility for Level-1 material controls in accordance with Epsilon Systems Instructions.
- Performs installation, repair, overhaul or modification in place or in shop to electronic or electro mechanical systems and components (e.g.; controllers, switches, pumps, etc.).
- Assists with the performance of on-site field service for system grooms and checkouts, minor repairs and system configuration validation.

JOB DESCRIPTION
- Physically build deliverable sensor systems: assemble mechanical components, solder electronic components, apply coatings to printed circuit boards, install printed circuit boards into sensor housings, precisely cut and strip wiring, mount fasteners, fasten and/or seal electro-mechanical assemblies by applying various bonding and/or sealing agents
- Perform final machining, cutting, or bonding operations on components such as sensor housing, sense elements, fine wires, etc.

Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full- time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

Electronics technician - Metrology
Montreal, QC, Canada
Work with instructions within established processes to complete calibration as well as electronic repair service requests impacting various instruments, equipment or machines. Requires knowledge in areas such as pressure, temperature, vibration, speed, etc.
In collaboration with other functions & trades, estimates and plans the scope of its tasks and the materials necessary to carry out calibration, adjustment, repair or replacement activities of electronic components or instruments.
Use and consult in certain cases digital control systems (Industrial Programmable Controller, Human-Machine Interface, Sensors and actuators) to do your job.
Work with tools, equipment, measuring instruments to repair or assemble electronic equipment from various materials according to established specifications and techniques.
Diagnose the problem to identify the source and recommend effective corrective methods to restore functionality and integrity.
Performs testing to validate performance based on specifications and operational requirements. If necessary, dismantle equipment to replace defective parts.
Completes all required documentation, data collection and maintaining appropriate records of various required parameters in accordance with procedures.

Basic requirements:

Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician I–III is responsible for performing preventive and predictive maintenance and repairing production equipment as needed. This role also supports senior technicians with electrical and mechanical projects while ensuring safe and efficient equipment operation in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production equipment.
- Assist senior technicians with equipment repairs while learning best practices.
- Support small electrical and mechanical projects under the direction of the Team Lead or Supervisor.
- Follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards and recommend improvements when needed.
- Work collaboratively with production teams to support operational efficiency.
- Repair and replace electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic components including motors, contactors, relays, timers, switches, PLCs, light curtains, motor controls, and valves.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in electrical equipment and integrated systems.
- Install and repair electrical wiring, conduits, receptacles, switch boxes, cable assemblies, and lighting fixtures.
- Maintain equipment performance and assist with managing spare parts inventory.
- Support equipment installation, setup, modification, and relocation.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic/pneumatic diagrams.
- Test electrical and electronic components for voltage, current, resistance, and continuity.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and resolve issues to prevent production downtime.
- Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures when servicing equipment.
- Accurately complete work orders and maintenance documentation.
Qualifications

- Experience troubleshooting electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Knowledge of PLC systems, robotics, AC/DC and servo drives, motion control, HMI interfaces, and motor controls.
- Ability to read electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics.
- Understanding of PLC programming concepts (e.g., Siemens Step 7, Beckhoff TwinCat).
- Knowledge of electrical circuitry including relays, contactors, limit switches, and proximity sensors.
- Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is a plus.
