We're looking for an Entry-Level Mechanical Engineer in Boise, ID who is excited about working on projects that enable the heart of our clients' business. Join us and you'll have the chance to work on projects including state of the art industrial and commercial facilities.
You'll be accountable for schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks, as you gain familiarity with the client's expectations, scope, budget and schedule.

Position description
We are generating an applicant pool of qualified temporary instructors to teach regular and Summer Session courses, should an opening arise. In addition to lecturing responsibilities, general duties for these positions include laboratory teaching, holding regular office hours, assigning grades, advising students, and preparing course materials and exams.
We are also seeking applicants for Teacher Special Programs (TSP), should an opening arise. TSP instructors will be responsible for overseeing capstone projects in the Master of Engineering (MEng) program in the Department Mechanical Engineering. This includes: design and propose capstone projects and help match students into suitable projects. Meet with each capstone project team on a regular basis to review results, manage interpersonal aspects, and maintain efficient progress. Provide critical, constructive feedback on students' written reports and oral presentations. Coordinating and participating in the MS Plan II exam of each student at the end of the capstone project period. This pool encompasses engineering science and technology specializations relevant to both mechanical engineering and aerospace engineering.

Electro-Mechanical Technician
The Electro-Mechanical Technician at Green Bay Packaging works in a fast-paced environment that oversees the installation and maintenance of our plant support systems and process machinery. This role will also be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our machinery and mechanical equipment, as well as installing new equipment, performing regular services, performing maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting equipment breakdowns. The Thermal Analyst will be a technical leader across multidisciplinary teams of engineers to create the best overall system design including thermal design, analysis, and test of optical systems operating in harsh space and ground environments. The candidate will possess in-depth understanding of aerospace thermal engineering technology and payload architectures for spacecraft sub-systems and instruments. These talents are used to direct and oversee teams who specialize in conductive, convective, and radiative analyses, understanding of heat pipes, radiative heat transfer, and thermal control hardware design (thermal blankets, surface treatments, heater tapes, thermistors) and the interaction with optical structures in order to minimize optical errors, and achieve operational temperatures. - System level thermal design & development, payload level integration and test, and risk mitigation for space-based environments
- Perform thermal design and analysis tasks on complex mechanical hardware including precision mechanisms, electro-mechanical devices, aerospace mechanism design, complex electronics packaging, supporting space-based deployable mechanisms, avionics, innovative thermal and ground based systems

Compensation
Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for the two positions:Β Mechanical Principal Engineer $144,500 to $187,000; Mechanical Senior Engineer $116450 - $150,700.

How will you make an impact?
We are seeking a highly skilled, technically proficient and detail-oriented Principal Mechanical Engineer with expertise in metal structures, frame design, pipes and fabrication to support the development of power and cooling infrastructure for data centers. This role is critical in designing robust mechanical systems that house and support electrical and thermal management equipment, ensuring structural integrity, manufacturability, and compliance with industry standards.
What will you do?
* Experience designing and integrating hydronic systems including pumps, piping networks, valves, and heat exchangers for data center cooling applications.
* Knowledge of fluid dynamics, pressure drop calculations, and pipe sizing for chilled water and glycol-based systems.
* Understanding of installation constraints, maintenance access, and serviceability in large-scale mechanical infrastructure.
* Design and develop mechanical frames, enclosures, and support structures for data center power and cooling products (UPS systems, battery racks, CRAC units, containment systems, LVS, MVS).
* Perform advanced structural analysis using FEA tools to validate mechanical integrity under static, dynamic, seismic, and thermal loads.
* Analyze load paths, stress concentrations, and fatigue life of structural components to ensure long-term reliability.
* Design metal enclosures with considerations for airflow, thermal containment, EMI shielding, and environmental protection.
* Evaluate and implement new materials, coatings, and fabrication technologies to enhance product performance and reliability.
* Participate in customer engagements and site visits to understand deployment constraints and gather feedback for design improvements.
* Create detailed CAD models and fabrication drawings, including weldments, sheet metal, and machined parts
* Select appropriate materials and fabrication methods to optimize cost, performance, and reliability
* Collaborate with electrical, thermal, and systems engineering teams to integrate mechanical designs with functional components.
* Lead mechanical design reviews and contribute to cross-functional design validation efforts.
* Develop and maintain design documentation including BOMs, specifications, test plans, and engineering change orders (ECOs).
* Drive continuous improvement in mechanical design for manufacturability (DFM), cost reduction, and performance optimization.
* Interface with suppliers and customers to resolve fabrication issues and ensure quality standards are met.
* Support lifecycle management of mechanical components, including obsolescence planning and alternate sourcing.
* Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions for mechanical failures or field issues.
* Ensure mechanical designs support airflow management, thermal containment, and integration with cooling systems (in-row cooling, rear door heat exchangers).
* Collaborate with compliance and certification teams to ensure mechanical designs meet global regulatory requirements (UL, CE, RoHS, REACH)
* May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
How will you get here?
Education :
* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
Experience :
* 8+ years of experience in mechanical design and fabrication, preferably in data center, industrial, or power systems environment.
* Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor) and FEA software (ANSYS, Abaqus).
* Strong knowledge of metal fabrication processes including welding, sheet metal forming, and machining is a must
* Experience with structural design for heavy equipment or large assemblies, and familiarity with thermal and airflow considerations in enclosure design is required
* Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

* Hands-on experience with prototype fabrication and testing; Experience working with global suppliers and contract manufacturers a plus
