We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to manage the accurate and timely processing of payroll at our manufacturing site. This is an on-site role responsible for handling weekly payroll for hourly employees and semi-monthly payroll for salaried employees.
The ideal candidate will have experience with payroll systems, particularly ADP, and will ensure compliance with all payroll policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Familiarity with ADP setup and implementation is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:

Overview
The Behavioral Wellness Center at Girard is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead and oversee all payroll operations for a multi program behavioral healthcare organization. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing while serving as the primary system administrator for payroll and timekeeping platforms.
This is a hands-on leadership role that partners closely with Finance, Human Resources, and executive leadership. The Payroll Manager will own payroll operations end to end while also supporting organizational risk management initiatives. This position is fully onsite and requires a strong operational presence.
Responsibilities
β’ Oversee biweekly and off cycle payroll processing to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
β’ Serve as System Administrator for payroll, timekeeping, and related systems including configuration, maintenance, and optimization
β’ Act as the primary liaison with payroll vendors for system related issues, troubleshooting, and resolving escalations
β’ Review and approve payroll prior to submission, ensuring proper wage calculations, deductions, tax withholdings, and compliance with wage and hour laws
β’ Collaborate with Human Resources to ensure employee records, tax setup, and time capture align with regulatory and organizational requirements
β’ Monitor and support payroll tax filings, deposits, and reconciliations in partnership with the CFO
β’ Prepare and distribute routine payroll reports for leadership and finance review
β’ Provide training and ongoing support to managers and employees on payroll systems and processes
β’ Maintain strict confidentiality of employee and payroll information at all times
β’ Support the Risk Management Program including claims administration, documentation, data reporting, and policy coordination
β’ Assist with accounts payable related to insurance premiums, legal fees, and risk management expenses
Qualifications
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field preferred
β’ Minimum of 5 years of direct payroll administration and payroll processing experience responsible for end-to-end payroll operations
β’ Experience processing payroll for multi-state or multi-site organizations preferred
β’ Experience using ADP Workforce Now or a comparable enterprise payroll system strongly preferred
β’ In depth understanding of payroll tax laws, wage and hour regulations, and payroll compliance requirements
β’ Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel including formulas, pivot tables, and payroll reporting
β’ Proven ability to manage complex payroll structures and meet strict payroll deadlines
β’ Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
β’ Ability to handle sensitive payroll and employee information with discretion and professionalism
β’ Comfortable working independently while collaborating across departments

Key Responsibilities
- Payroll Processing (Lead): Execute end-to-end bi-weekly payroll for our national workforce. This includes managing timesheet data, administering court-ordered garnishments, and ensuring all tax withholdings and deductions are accurate across multiple state jurisdictions.
- HRIS Management: Act as an administrator for our HRIS (ADP), maintaining data integrity for the full employee lifecycle (new hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations). Continuously evaluate workflows to identify opportunities for automation or process improvements.

Position Snapshot/A Day in the Life: The Payroll Coordinator is part of the Finance Division and under the supervision of Payroll Supervisor, the incumbent will process bi-weekly payroll cycles, ensure employees are paid accurately and on time, audit payroll data for accuracy, and help resolve discrepancies. The position works closely with Human Resources and Finance staff to assist with benefits deductions, support audit preparation, and response to employee inquiries, while also serving as a backup to the Payroll Supervisor when needed.
