Description

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP), Community Investment & Economic Revitalization (CIER) coordinates and promotes NJDEP programs and initiatives at the intersection of environmental, social, and economic improvement. NJDEP hosts the Youth Inclusion Initiative, an exposure program aimed at helping New Jersey develop the next generation of environmental protection, conservation and sustainability leaders. The NJDEP does this through providing young adults from overburdened communities with career experience through interactive activities and the necessary pathway to achieving those careers. The Youth Inclusion Initiative involves nearly every program in the NJDEP.


Specific to the Position

Specific duties may include developing a framework that will prepare Youth Inclusion Initiative supervisors with the method and expertise to prepare youth for more in-depth interactive activities. For example, developing presentations, flyers and other youth relatable material. Further using developed materials to assist the program manager in training the youth supervisors prior to the start of the YII program. Duties may also include assisting the program manager in ensuring youth are exposed to careers in the environmental field with parallel effort to developing program improvement ideas. The applicant should be comfortable speaking with youth, supervisors, and internal and external leadership for virtual and in-person meetings. The applicant should also thrive in fast pace working environment where work priorities are shifted according to the Department’s needs.

License

Education and Experience:

  • BS in a technical discipline, Construction Management, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering.

  • 15 years of progressive experience in Construction Management, Engineering or Operations, including employment in a process‐related industrial facility and/or an industrial consulting engineering design firm.

Position Details and Expectations

Essential Duties & Responsibilities • Become familiar with all related contractual documents including construction plans, specifications, quantity estimates, and construction schedules during the construction process.

Assist project staff with compliance with Reclamation engineering standards and procedures.

• Provide construction vibration monitoring observation and documentation during construction contractor (CC) work activities.

• Assist BSGI inspectors with research and reporting of quality control of CC’s work and safety for the construction project including confirmation of work performance, supplies, and materials installed; and that they meet the Government specification’s standards.

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications • Education Requirements: Can qualify with a two-year degree in construction Management or related field in lieu of experience.

• Level of Experience Requirements: Must have at least one year of experience in construction projects like the PBRWS Project.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics • Must have knowledge of specifications, drawings, drawing redlines, and other contract-related engineering documents.

Understand the concept of inspecting the work product and ensuring compliance with the specifications, drawings, and other contract-related engineering documents.

• Understands industry and Government best management practices for heavy civil construction activities.

• Presents a professional demeanor, attentive listener, proactive, engage and actively participate in teams, proficient in communication of ideas, technical subjects, concerns, and ability to provide potential solutions.

• Has experience in written and oral communication and is able to compose written documentation that is professional, thorough, clear, and precise that requires little to no correction.

• Familiar with OSHA and Reclamation Safety and Health Standards (RSHS) regulations and the differences between the two safety requirements (OSHA 30 Hours Construction Training and/or RSHS 32 Hours Training).

Base CPR, First Aid, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP).

OSHA Hazard Communication, Confined Space, Hearing Conservation, and Fall Protection and Prevention.

Preferred • Familiar with earthwork activities such as excavating, stockpiling, hauling, placement, compaction, and Contractor’s QC testing of earthen materials.

• Familiar with concrete activities such as formwork, scaffolding, reinforcement, methods of placement and finishing, cold weather protection, curing, and documenting Contractor’s QC testing of concrete • placements.

Helpful if you have experience with placement of Controlled Low Strength Materials (CLSM).

Position Overview

The PD Manager works within the Product Development team to help drive calendarized and non-calendarized initiatives for Moroccanoil. This person will manage the development of company products, communicate progress, and manage relationships with various vendors. Additionally, they will be responsible for the project execution of products. Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the VP to execute assigned calendarized launches in all stages from concept to on-counter as well as reformulations of existing products.
  • Collaborate with PD team to evaluate all product submissions on a timely basis. Communicate desired modifications to the lab in a timely manner.
  • Follow all steps of the product development process including product brief creation, identifying the appropriate lab partners, cost analysis, claims testing, active ingredients, etc. ensuring timing and COG’s targets are achieved.
  • Partner with the Assistant Manager to conduct product testing. Analyze data and give redirects when needed.
  • Work closely with the PD Packaging team to ensure the formula is compatible with the packaging chosen and adjust specifications when needed.
  • Update weekly PD status on the assigned projects to ensure all formula development is on track. Consistently maintain an updated program tracker for all assigned projects.
  • Interact regularly with R&D, outside vendors, and PD team members.
  • Collaborate with VP to evaluate new submissions against prototypes or standards for all formula aesthetics. Manage the redirect process with the lab or subcontractor to ensure all formula modifications are conveyed clearly and precisely.
  • Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Education, and Operations teams to ensure deliverables are met
  • Maintain an updated log of all submissions received and their status on all assigned projects.
  • Oversee submissions for Lab, Pilot, and Production to ensure proper coding and organization
  • Works with the VP to put together presentations and conduct research on new ingredients, products, etc.
  • Act as a resource within the PD community for innovation and development.
  • Keep abreast of competitive product launches and new technologies.
  • Help source and identify new concepts, ingredients, and product forms. Obtain research for new product ideas (visual and literal).
  • Attend Industry Forums when available to learn more about research and development in Body care/Skincare segments and other relevant topics.


Qualifications

  • 5-9 years of experience minimum in a product development environment (Body care/Skincare preferably), with experience working closely with internal or external labs.
  • Must have a passion for Body care/Skincare & Fragrance products.
  • Must have a strong team and interpersonal, creative, communication (verbal, written), and analytical skills
  • Highly organized and focused while able to multi-task and adapt to changing priority levels for multiple ongoing projects
  • Be adept in time management, execution, follow-up, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functions, to work independently, and to take initiative when appropriate.
  • Be open to constructive feedback and revisions on work
  • Flexible on work responsibilities and priorities
